I would really like them to implement a function to watch allies battle (in multiplayer). It would feel more like hot seat and make the waiting between turns a bit more entertaining.

Did anyone really expect anything different? Not surprised in the least at seeing poor Irina bending over backwards to try and explain this mess, especially considering the sorry handful of excuses she has to work with to placate the rightfully irate fans.

"Too little, too bloody late" says one of the posters, and he's perfectly right. What's transpiring behind Ubihole's iron curtain is anyone's guess, but I think it's quite likely they're running a skeleton crew to address the patching process. I'm impressed by the obvious lack of interest shown by Ubi. I wonder if HOMMVI managed to turn a profit in the end. Given recent Ubi statements about the disappointing financial viability of PC gaming and their intention of only focusing on projects that are well worth their effort, I'd go further and say future expansions are a big question mark at this point.

Bah... I reached Platinum Rank already and have played only a bit over half of the campaign and a wee little skirmish.

Is level 40 the last level? So easy to get there...

This worries me as well. I truly hope that they have factored in expenses for the expansions and that they are a go no matter what.

If not, then I'm sorry to say, but this game will not stand the test of time alone the way it is. It needs a lot more content to give this long lasting replayability.

Well, I was playing the campaigns on the first release of the game (1.1) and then installed patch 1.1.1 and all my save games disappeared.....had to start the campaigns again....

Pretty extensive patch list. But that's what happens when you accumulate bugs over a period of time. Looks like the AI will have a nice shine-up. I'm interested to hear if it's actually any better.

What the f*****g hell, the problem with the bloody spell is that it can decide the battle if it triggers ONCE, not that it's easy to cast.

They have to change so many things yet they make some minor changes to units that have no great consequence.

Celestial armor doesn't absorb damage taken but damage that the attacker does. That means if you have stoneskin and celestial armor your celestial armor will vanish very soon on damage that you will not have received in the first place. Also the problem with spring spirits, succubi and units that return damage or spells like retribution is that a 1000 units stack attacking a single unit will receive an incredible amount of damage in return. This can be abused by the player too vs the AI so a fix is needed. A good example is H3 efreet sultan fireshield that caps at the max health of the defending unit (means 18 hp by efreet sultan max).

Not only the hit and run abuse is still there with high level magic heroes launching a powerfull spell with a high init unit and fleeing but also any hero with units that return damage vs much bigger armies. You can easily whittle down stacks of legions this way. From what we heard it's not in their plan to fix that .

I had the same thought when checking the list - but it seems their priorities have been AI and bug fixing over balancing. And I guess you can't take them to fault at that, I would say getting most of the bugs fixed is top priority. So I guess you should be happy that they at least gave them a defence increase instead of just doing nothing.

besides, better this way and slowly they will get to the point where dogs feel just right, i prefer this approach to the "make it OP - nerf it to oblivion" approach

will get there

I would agree if it was about something less obvious. I'm no programmer but somehow I think that changing some numbers is no rocket science. You could refrain from changing the properties of the Glories for example, even though they are pretty overpowered at the moment, because they still can be handled with some finesse. But 95% of the opinions which I've read in all the "mediums" scream that the Hell Hounds/Cerberi are useless as they are and I gladly concur. What they need is something like Might Defense equal to the Magic Defense and 32-34 Hit Points. Or higher population instead. None of these will make the overpowered.
As for "bug fixing over balance" - I agree that the vast number of bugs need to be dealt with, especially the major ones (like Luck triggering in a completely inconsistent manner) but the balance is almost as important as the technical aspects. At the moment there is one clearly overpowered and one clearly underpowered faction out of... five. So what, three factions for multi-player? Is this what they meant when they said that they'll make the game StarCraft-like?

As we are now discussing patch 1.2, I guess I'd better open a dedicated thread for this topic. This one will remain for 1.1.1 discussion until 1.2 is out.

Playing the campaign as the multi-player is not an option with all the bugs and the balance mess. Small dozes, no more than a few hours a week. It gets boring pretty fast, that's for sure, and the terrible voice acting + the amateurish story-telling approach don't help.

I quit playing after finishing only the Sanctuary campaign.  Too many bugs occurred in my games so I decided to wait for a patch (or multiple ones) before continuing playing.  It helps the wait to have a significant backlog of games I haven't played yet!  I just finished the Layton and the Last Specter game on the DS.  It was fun and especially, no game breaking bugs!

I didn't play a lot of the game yet, but I can see why people would find it very boring after a while.  The maps have a wow effect as soon as you uncover a portion of them, but after that, there really is no point to revisit them.  Everything is done automatically (the mines stay under your control, the creatures are recruitable at any castle, etc.)

I'm not sure though about the voice acting.  From what I've heard so far, I thought it was OK, although I haven't played the game a lot yet!  But even really bad voice acting doesn't usually bother me at all.  Probably due to English not being my native tongue.
