Drakon arrives at the Temple of Worship accompanied with a company of Gnolls.
Drakon is met by the Goddesses and he and Djive exchanges conspiratorial glances.
Soon afterwards Jarbarkas arrives with a company of Goblins.
True to their nature, the Gnolls and the Hobgoblins started a fight and the Goddesses settled down on the porch to applaud the two teams as they fought for the honour of entertaining the Goddesses with a proper combat.
Djive was tempted to join the fight with her Toad Zapping Wand, for some good comical relief but then decided against it. If this only was after the Soccer game... Still her time would come.
Presently the combat abated and the Gnolls and the Hobgoblins presented the Goddesses with gifts, and in return the Goddesses graced the Gnolls and the Hobgoblins with their blessings. Djive gave Drakon a bottle giving him a conspiratorial look.
Both teams had arrived so it was time to kick off the soccer game. The female Gnolls would do their boue nue luttant during the breaks. Djive detested soccer and had little idea about how to play. Thus, 30 Hobgoblins and 30 Gnolls started on the soccer field. In addition Djive had given each of teams four balls, and appointed Oldtimer to be the referee by promising him that he would get some time with the box and knobs afterwards.
The rules were lax, and within the first five minutes Oldtimer would have gotten grey hair, had it not been white already. He blew and blew, and then when neither the Gnolls nor the Hobgoblins seemed to take notice he zapped them with Hypnotize and gave them the Red Card.
During the next ten minutes Gnolls and Hobgoblins left the soccer game one by one. As they left Djive Zapped them into Toads, and they were then sent further to the Chef in the Temple. Eventually, the Gnolls and Hobgoblins realized what was happening when you got a red card and calmed down. Only five of each team were left and so Jabarkas and Drakon sent in some replacements.
This was going to be a fun game...

Romana, Cat and RainBow, the trainee goddess of multi-tasking and spin the bottle occasionally intercede by zapping a random gnoll or goblin with a minor jinx, much to the annoyance of Djive.
Already there have been a few minor scraps.. in particular, the goblin's refusal to wear any kind of kit proved to be a problem... that and the fact that they kept climbing all over the crossbar.
As there were 17 half-times, the goddesses knew that it was probably best to keep a large supply of boxes around to help OT and Zud, who had somehow managed to become reserve official.
Of the linesmen, one was having a nervous breakdown (Sir_Stiven) at the deseration of the beautiful game, and the other (The_Gootch) was being chased up a tree by a rabid polar bear, which the goddess of boo... err, insight, had conjured up to add a whole new competitive element.
However, when RainBow and Cat turned all 87 of the balls into Furbies, it was decided that maybe magic and soccer shouldn't be mixed.

Aculias tossing around and is not paying attention to the soccer game.. It's a mistake he's going to regret.
In one of the many half-tims the Hobgoblins say they are unhappy that the Gnolls have entertainment but not them. In their grace the Goddesses point to Aculias and offer him as entertainment to the Hobgoblins. A company of Hobgoblins charge Acualias and knock him senseless and tie him to a pole. They're preparing to roast him alive, when the whistle blows to signify the start of the next period.
Knocked blue and green Acualias tries to find a way to get free from the ropes before the next half-time....

As Stiven is not paying attention to his lineman duties, the goddess of revealing clothes sneaks up behind him and stuffs Lee the Ferret down his pants.
Stiven runs around like a girl and get's knocked over and trampled on by the returning teams. OT sighs and calls stoppage time so he can cast bind wound...

Aculias stares dumbfounded before him and tries to speak.

Where did that long red tongue come from? He then realizes that it is his own. He's been zapped into a Toad.
The kitchen help comes out from the Temple and start to catch Toads. They are to be served as the main course.
Acualias jumps away with his new body to avoid capture. Soon he's miles away from the Temple.
OBSERVE: It's strictly forbidden to abuse the Goddesses. Show some respect in the Temple!!!

Yea though the competitions continued day and night the old man did not become weary. He spread the card of red to all who offended him and made sure the beasts followed the rules, though arcane they may be. When most would collapse from exhaustion, the old one succuled the knobs and they gave him refreshing ambrosia. While other may need sleep, the old man worshipped the box until the moisture of pleasure renewed his spirits. Yet many wondered where the Zuddites were and if Aculias was Zud's new disciple.

A sister Goddess helping Aculias???
Reverting the Toad spell???
This is very bad news... If every time Dive Zaps somebody, another of the Goddesses turns them back (and this is getting repetitive) then that pretty much removes their just punishment.
The Toad spell is designed to last only three days. Let the wrong-doers serve their just sentence!!! If you remove the spell you don't allow the culprits sufficient time to ponder their crime and they'll redo it.
I expect this to be the last time this happens! Otherwise don't expect me to help out when Aculias tries to blow up our beloved Temple.
It seems Oldtimer misunderstood the gist of the soccer game. It's just one match and when there's enough Toad meat to complement the main dish the fight will end. (And considering Djive's non-existent knowledge of soccer I'd suspect that Oldtimer won't have to referee more than this one game.)
The outcome of the game??? Gnolls won with 1542 vs 1476. It was pure slaughter in the two last half-times when Drakon had taken his medicine.
Everyone are now welcome to the main dish, boeuf spécial de gorgon avec jambes marinées de crapaud.
There will be plenty to drink and those who only toss around will be asked to help out in the kitchen.
