Snow.
I'll wait until it graduates up from "gossip" before I fear the worst, but this is extremely unsettling news all the same.

Quote: Hungarian sad news front: allegedly terminated in its present form the Black Hole Games.
The strong rumor is treated as a rumor that the game developer has complete concept is no longer sustainable. Armies of Exigo Although, the Warhammer: Mark of Chaos and the recently released can also terribly sophisticated, beautiful, and the strategy worked, but none of them produced as much money and an offer was received that it would keep the studio.

Should I have a look at it?
EDIT: According to the rumor, BH's "concept" of focusing exclusively on game development is no longer a viable one. (Sorry, I don't have time to refine the translation.)

As opposed to what? To what do they need to widen their focus in order to be viable?

The ****, is this ****?!?!?!
I'm being manipulated but nevermind:
Quote: Sad news from the Hungarian front: Rumors state that Black Hole will cease to exist in its present form.
According to gossip it's 100% likely that the game-developing concepts can no longer be maintained. Though the Armies of Exigo, Warhammer: Mark of Chaos and recently released games were a marvel, with well constructed strategies; none of them brought in much income, infact they haven't even received a reasonable offer that could sustain the studio.
We tried to reach black hole via phone to get them to varify this, so far without luck.

Obviously H6 not mentioned because it wasn't "a marvel, with well constructed strategies"???
LOL at how:
"without luck" getting translated to "some success"

I'm much more worried about the HOMM franchise than I am about Black Hole. One cannot assume that the failure of the original development studio bodes well for the future of MMH6 (and beyond).

All this comes to confirm that Ubisoft finance Black Hole on the very minimum level, i.e. yet another confirmation for terrible product management. It will be funny if it turns out that they first approved the release of a semi-completed game with many missing features and when it failed to sell well enough, they told Black Hole "sorry, you are not up to the expectations, no extra funds fo ye". Which I doubt by the way - knowing Ubisoft's money-sucking policy, it's quite likely that Black Hole are hired for the expansions as well, not only for the main version (i.e. all these things are parts of the same contract) only to create one full game in several chargeable pieces.

I'm not assuming that it will, I simply meant "in the event that it does...," it would probably be very bad for MMH6.
I wonder why Nival hadn't been tapped to do MMH6?

If the rumours are true, because their vision of Heroes VI was of a TBS with very little RPG elements which Ubisoft didn't like. Most likely there were money issues involved too.

There were many issues connected with the overall idea on the game (especially concerning the visual style) and its features. Mostly though Nival was rejected as the developer after some misunderstandings with the former producer (the word "former" is quite crucial here).
