Well, that's spot on. That fact made the dwarves very difficult, it takes years<L> to cross from Blue mtns to Erebor. and the spawns were tedious...no fun. <imo>That's the problem with the cheats, scripted vs design is never the way to go. That's why campaigns are more liked nursed-babies versus the game that's left behind for us to play.
I think the only "good" faction I liked playing was Eriador.(never tried Gondor) Really, the whole deal of any faction could be your enemy was kind of silly (to me). I mean the whole point of the War was between good and evil.<L>
Hyrule I've not played but all things considered it seems the better to me.

My only gripe with Hyrule design is that troops have a little too much movement. With best roads you can cross the map in 5 turns or so with a cavarly unit. That's a little too far. 
Also there could be a bigger difference in movement points between units, to better represent the different qualities of the races.
That said, it's still a mod in progress with features being added all the time so...

Sounds like a "Mod the Mod". I did it once and it paid-off.

Oh I already modded in a lot of stuff concerning units.
Proper charge and defense values for cavalry, proper unit weight, etc.

It's doing steady progress, currently with historic battles and more custom settlements.
The creator is currently working two jobs and the mod so all progress he does is amazing in my eyes.
Yeah I can edit the movement points.
EDIT: LOL, just like a counter to my comments about all his progress being amazing he reveals 24 new factions.
Looks like three new campaigns.

That is amazing. I have a whole lot of respect for tw's modding community; so many have contributed. My first Mod was RTR and it was/is very good.
Sure hope CA doesn't start limiting these efforts.

Currently Zora, Lizalfos and Gerudo left.
Any opinions would be most welcome.
While I'm wondering what faction to choose I found out that Third Age MOS 1.6.1 was released just early this month. Time for another chance.
Okay. MOS 1.6.1 actually makes tatw quite enjoable. It also gives you the option to choose all the scripts you want case by case. Recommened if you want to play LotR.
Lizalfos are out, cause they are dicks.

Thanks friend, looks like a need to do some serious downloading soon. I saw where there is 3 (total)for the MOS and also one for the "cleaner...besides the game-Mod"
btw, been thinking about what I would like to see in a TW Mod. I've not tried many Mods, so this might be crazy or already done.
Is it possible to have several cities within a Country (with the Capitol neutral)with a few (2-3)"Lords" that begin by controlling one or two towns to then battle to i.e. "unite England" and at the same time have this same war of unification happening inside the other countries that on the map?
Like this, you can play as Offa and fight against Ethelred and try to create England, or play as Beowulf, fight Harold Bluetooth and try to unite the Danes etc. all the while desiring to be the "King of whatever" so you move from Baron/Lord to King and can start attacking other countries.
<iow> a 2-step process on your way to world domination. The player would have to win the right to represent all of one country before being able to attack the other countries.
Have you seen anything play-out like this?

Only current total war method to allow that would be vassalisation.
I think you're better off with Europa Universalis if you want an experience like that.
You could make a force diplo script that would make the capitol neutral against all of them and when the player defeats the other lords you'd give the capitol to him.

OK, I'll have to try it too.
Two more questions about TATW, is It possible to get rid of the diplomacy, where the Dwarves will react to you negatively because you treated Mordor badly? <LOL> And also, are those silly crusades from Mordor still in? Every game Edoras was swarmed

If they have to have DLC then a Gore and Blood is a very suitable one. Consider that some players are of a young age and should maybe not have horror like violence available by default. To those who really like the excess violence it is nice to have the option to get that. Free DLC download would be nice though and satisfy everyone besides the money people.

I've started up Shogun 2 again, restarted as Tosa with Darthmod on (so more troops per battalions and improved Ai), but I feel that the ai is too smart for it's own good, like I could see that the enemy positioned his yari cavalry opposite my sabre cavalry and after some initial baiting I noticed that they could be lured into my lines (which I did) my muskets and spears wore them down, but even so the battle was long and hard won.

Should have recorded my epic defense with one marauder(light swordswomen) and one glaive grunt company against a full battallion of Hylian infantry and some knights backed up by trebuchets and repeater ballista.
I won with 8 marauders left standing. That took some serious praying to the goddesses to help me there. Thank god for lifelong drafting in the Gerudo society!
...it helps us blunder Hylian villages better.
