I'm pretty concerned about the artillery in three kingdoms, the splash damage is insane, an indirect hit can wipe out 30-40 men, walls included (so you're pretty ****ed defending if the enemy bring catapults).

Hmm, I've launched the DLC pack only to find they added another (free) Lizardmen Legendary Lord - a Skink on a Ripperdactyl. Noice! More love for Lizzies, Dread Saurian or Coatls anyone?

Imperator: Rome
Any opinions on Imperator: Rome? I think here, it's on the cheapest price compared to the rest of the web as well... should I acquire it?

Didn't try it no. Just fyi, this is a thread dedicated to CA's Total War series.
Speaking of which I just can't get back to TW: W II. On one hand I want to play it. But I tried a few battles and seems I forgot everything on how to play this game cus I get my ass kicked by AI. Don't have time nor motivation to learn it from scratch, it's just how lazy I've become... maybe I need a bit more time though.
EDIT: Oh, Skavens are the winners of the dlc. The addition of Jezzails, Gatlings and Doomflayers makes this faction so much better. Now even I want to play them From a faction that was mostly about throwing throngs of meat shields against opponents (a gameplan I usually disklike), there are now a sneaky ranged-heavy faction which is so much more fun

It seems TW: Warhammer II is far from "dead".
Not only we're getting a cool dlc, The Hunter & The Beast, which introduces Dread Saurians (biggest Lizardmen units in the lore) and Nakai the Wanderer, but they are adding a free update which introduces forts and more interesting siege battles (dev blog link), plus another Lizardmen Legendary Lord, Gor-Rok (I think that makes Lizardmen a faction with the greatest number of available LL).
They give me another reason the get back into the game, but I just can't find the time when I still have Planetfall on my menu...
EDIT: So I started with Nakai and I like his horde mechanic. It's less economy to worry about as you only build one "settlement". You can add new armies but so far there is no need. The campaign also seems pretty straightforward: kill a bunch of hunters and own 40 provinces. It appears it will be shorter then standard faction campaigns, but that's ok with me.
EDIT 2: I'm actually enjoying the Nakai's Horde mechanic as it is a perfect way to get back into the game. Economy is streamlined, you don't need to keep track of many settlements at once. People agree on the fact that CA listens to feedback, and they made horde mechanic more fun to play: you can recruit all units you unlocked from the global pool for each army, not only in your main horde and you can Encamp at any given time, so you can replenish your forces quicker.
But voices are still divided. Some say the gameplay is boring, you usually take more time waiting for the turns to pass then moving your hoard in a turn. I can agree on the fact that the whole "Defenders" mechanic is also not executed well. When you conquer a settlement a neutral faction takes over: but it doesn't do anything and at later stages of the game it is an easy target for strong AI armies. That in itself wouldn't be that bad, but their payments are the basis for your economy, and you have really limited resources other then constantly attacking and looting. This was probably the idea behind it (keep being aggresive), but could use some fine tuning.

Never mind all the Lizard crap, holy jumpin jesus on a goddamn pogo-stick, av ya seen the new Empire (and a bunch of new locations across the world, like a fresh 8 slot ork camp between Bordeleux, Carcasson and Parravon). Those Empire forts look brilliant, not fought one yet but multi-layered siege with fall back locations?! WELCOME BACK MTW2!!!
And I randomly came across Laurelorn Forest, finally a possible forward outpost for my knife-ears.
The Empire AI seems to have improved as well, it actually seems really decent and level-headed.

Lizard crap is da shet.
You Empire folk already had TW:W, stoopid generic humans all over the place. What's better then watching big dinosaurs eating all those ragamuffins. Wah wah Empire is lit, so CA give us our stoopid Ork rework blah blah.
xxx
PS: It's a joke ofc I enjoy every aspect of the game. Lizards are my favs but glad to see other factions getting some love even if those aren't my first pick.
