Good point Veco, thanks. TW has always had a Modding community that completely rox. So many gifted people working hard for the fun. If only HoMM had not went the opposite direction. "Save a dime - lose a Dollar"
Thanks for the info tSar...this looks good enough for me to pick up the game again - especially with 3 s. (although I do detest DLCs) Last time I was spending TW time was the "1st" version of the 3rd Age mod.
Btw, has Diplomacy been scraped now? (Sorry if I missed something)That aspect was always a great vision for the game but they never got it right in any version I played.

You can easily mod diplomacy to your liking if you find the lore faithul setting too constricting  seriously though CA has been very vocal in their support of the modding scene, even deaturing some on their youtube channel. Dive right in I say.

Ye diplomacy is another thing I forgot to talk about, NOBODY WANTS TRADE, like am crying blood now, very good relationship and very unlikely to get a trade agreement?! I am keeping the forces of the apocalypse at bay with the blood of my people and you won't even trade with me and you dare call me your friend?!
Also been playing as Bretonnia (mod that adds them in with a decent tech tree and faction bonuses). However I found that fielding an army of peasants is far more cost effective than investing in knights, like in the end I got Pegasus knights just cause they look rad.

Is this game difficult to learn or play? I am very impressed with the depth and environment I see but being disabled is a bit worrying -timewise. i.e. Is the auto-resolve fair or well-done? I ask because I remember early TW titles and to auto-resolve (something I may have to do a lot) a battle would mean certain death for my General.

No, it's quite easy to get a hang on, once you plan out which building you want and where you want them (only the province capitol can hold tier 4/5 buildings - unless you mod it ) and adjust it for the occasional district-specific ones.
Auto resolve is fair (in some cases even better than playing it out e.g. if you're up againts a lot of missile cavalry) and as long as you win the general will not die (but the attachable heroes can - which puts them out of commision for a few turns).
One thing to note is that the default combat ends very (even 10-15 minutes for 20v20 units!) quickly due to heavy chain-routing so installing the Radious mod which among other things tweaks melee combat to lenghten battles a little.

I have watched a lot of videos like this but this one is simply...hype.
I regret no money, spend on this game.
And I know, playing as Skaven, Lizardmen, Dark Elves, Ogre Kingdoms or Tomb Kings will cost a lot more. Not to mention all the other factions, who will and minor factions, who will hopefully, come. And my wallet is ready!

I made an unreleased mod for one of those ogre handcannons a while ago and I think someone else made some ogre units as well that should be available in the workshop if up to date.
