Thanks doubledeck, it is exactly this kind of feedback that I was looking for! This is an issue I had almost forgotten, there were plenty of complaints during the development. I remember I had suggested that levels give bronze points until lvl 5, silver points until lvl 15 and gold points from there on, each allowing the purchase of its corresponding tier and below - much like in the witcher
Thankfully the skill rebalancing has made many of the core abilities well worth picking but I'll admit that I have not really tested how balanced or not that may be. I'll have to test the balance at lvl 15/20/25 but I'll start with lvl 15 on normal and hopefully on fast rate that will give about lvl 20.

I am also thinking to change the map design. Have two starting players only and depending on your faction you step through the appropriate teleporter(or use a teleporting script once I am familiar with it) into your faction's area. That will allow for mirror matchups as well. All that remains is a small area for artifact merchants that the player will have access to once he leaves for the battlefield area. Unsure how much gold I should give, probably around 20-25k.

Regarding Dynasty weapons, if you log into ubisofts website you can level up your dynasy weapons without playing the game using the something-forge. They are also disableable when you are hosting the map. Because of these two reasons I think you should just leave them in the map and let the players decide, they aren't that game breaking.

A prototype of the map is ready here. Two players(1, 2), you gain lvl 20 and 250 reputation in both tears and blood. According to your class you visit the corresponding fort and get the appropriate army.
Current issues:
* Stronghold has no buildings list on the map editor so I placed a haven fort instead. The garrisoned units are still stronghold though.
* For whatever reason I cannot delete player 3, 3 and 5. I am supposed to delete their starting location but I have absolutely no idea how.
* There are no walls, the whole map is open. To be fixed later.
* No artifact merchants yet. To be added once I get a better taste of balance.
For now just close the player 3, 4, 5 slots and you are good to go.
I should be free most of the following afternoons so I'm looking forward to some games The good part is that the game automatically downloads the map for you when you join the game of someone who already has it.

Does that also happen when both players are human? It has occasionally happened to me in the past but I never understood why.

That worked! Weird.. So you have to paint the whole map with those or else there can be no battle? I do not even begin to understand.
Another issue you might be able to help me with. I do not know how to erase a player's starting location, whatever that is. I am stuck with player 3, 4 and 5 that I cannot remove unless I remove their starting position. Naturally there are no buildings or heroes assigned to them, nothing!

I saw your post on fb elvin... and I think I can help (who said that this editor is easy...??  
just goto Scenario properties and select the tab "Players" I guess you only wanna have player 1 and 2 (the rest just as "none") right ?

The issue is that putting the rest as none prompts the message to delete their starting locations when I try to save the map. I don't even know if those can be seen on the map, when I first saved the map I was asked if I wanted to generate them and the editor did it automatically.

U get:
Player 3' has start location, but its type is set to None and doesn't have any units or buildings either. You have to delete the start location.
and same for Player 4 and 5 right ?
dunno what to do sorry try make a new map and check what happend

Oh well Meanwhile had a couple of games with pitlord, it was fun. Max level, army strength and lvl 1reputation seem to work. I think I'll give a couple of core growth as they fall rather easily.

Elvin, here's how to resolve your Start Location issue:
1. Find the 'Start Locations' section in the third tab of the vertical menu to the right of the editor (its icon is an arrow).
2. Select the player you wish to edit in the top menu under 'Player'. So if you want to edit player 3, select 'Player 3'. Sorry if I include obvious details.
3. Now click 'Delete' in the Start Locations section (1.). That player's start location is now deleted, you'll see a visual feedback for this by the 'Preview' and 'Delete' button texts being ghosted.
4. Repeat 2. and 3. for player 4 and 5. If you select player 6 or higher, you'll notice those Start Location buttons are already ghosted, indicating that they don't have start locations.
5. Go to the Scenario top menu, select Properties and go to the Players tab. For the players 3 through 5, set Type to None. Save map. Rejoice. Play.
As for the Stronghold buildings, you're absolutely correct. BH must've forgotten to add the 'Buildings' section for them, as they don't even show up anywhere by using 'stronghold' as a search filter. This makes me wonder how they managed to put stronghold buildings/towns on their maps in the first place. Odd.

As for the missing buildings I have notified ubi so they should hopefully be added the next time. The editor is due to receive some improvements but I wish I knew when.
Another thing that concerns me, hero specials. Ideally all should be more or less useful but this is not the case - some being entirely useless for duels while the effectiveness of the rest varies. With the possibility of custom heroes my only hope is finding a script that switches the existing special with another. I'd rather avoid placing specific heroes per faction.

EDIT:
Turns out that you cannot ban artifacts that appear in artifact merchants. However you can limit the artifacts that spawn in random locations so that's good enough for me. Pitlord, your wish for random artifact areas is granted
