It obviously requires all terrains graphics for every town, so you won't get any use of it outside SW mod.

The only way is to borrow the new towns grahics from VCMI (but not sure they finished all), rename to plugin requirements and only then use the plugin.

Yes, obviously but I thought that part was done already since he talks about an existing plug-in.

The plugin exists and can be used, but it denies the capitol flag, to avoid another dozen of town defs.

It was created specifically for the h3sw, but OxFEA is not against sharing it.

As for the Forge (Cyborg town) - it's more like a prank. It's not likely to appear as "official" castle for h3sw, due to the lore. But it can exist as an optional content for fun.

Although the Heretic faction is not supposed to appear in the nearest releases of The Succession Wars Mod, I'd like to leave this new preliminary Devil and Arch Devil concepts here.

I would also like to hear your thoughts on the topic, because not everyone played Might and Magic series and thus this concept will look entirely unfamiliar for them. Does this suit fine for you as the Heroes 2 Devils?

those devils look really cool! I'm guessing animation is more important, you need to get that H2 feel and it's probably not easy to do it

Nice one, but hands seem to long for bipedal creature - looks more like monkey now.

I like the hands. It makes them look a bit primal and I think it kinda fits with the H2 Cartoonish style.

@ipisipis
Same thoughts.

Animating creatures is one of the toughest nuts in what we do. Today we are able to present the first preliminary frame batch (the moving one) for the Anubite - the new Gipsy creature, level 6.

The pixel imperfections will be dealt with a bit later, when the final gamma of the creature will be decided. It depends on the other creatures which will form the new Gipsy lineup (the Rogue, the Nomad, the Medusa, the Genie, and two new creatures which will be presented later).

Also, any chance of seeing a screenshot of the new town/towns lineup ?

To repeat, the devil is really cool. I like the long hands, it makes them look like weapons. He's so dangerous he doesn't need a sword

A bit later I think. Some creatures are not yet officially approved.

While working on the Knight townscreen, I noticed one funny thing which I didn't notice through all 12 years of my HoMM2 gaming experience.

The position of the Right Tower on the NWC's Knight screen is plain wrong - the tower almost merges with the main entrance archway.

So that, we are going not only create our own stuff, but also improve various aspects of the original game.
The tower is not enough for this screen - there are some other defects as well.

I think, it's because the main entrance is long enough to overshadow the piece of the wall between the gate and the right tower.

However, it is not. If it was a "perspective distortion", which was discussed on DF2, many other elements would have different lighting. If you look on the corner towers, you will see that they are created pretty lazy - the tower heads are copied and the perspective is ruined.

Also, the Fortifications, the Left Tower and the stonewall support of the castle will need careful improvements. Perhaps I will find something else tomorrow as well.

No, it cannot. The distortion is too strong. You cannot explain this by the resolution - it's high enough to have the variety of solutions.

Just imagine what will happen to the Left Tower and the all 3 right corner towers if you look on the castle from that angle.
Moreover, the size of the moat does not suggest such a long archway corridor as you demonstrate.

The Knight castle is obviously made with regards to the panorama style view, but it does contradict with other townscreen buildings. HoMM2 has a lot of mistakes in lighting, and this does not only concern townscreens, but also the adventure map objects.

You always can decrease the angle by shifting the towers closer to the gate.
