One question: (Sorry if this has already been answered)
Does the A-D ratio work like in H2 or 3? I remember hearing it's 5% per A>D and 2.5% per D>A or something in H3 but 10% in H2.

We are currently deciding. Probably, the effect of Attack and Defense will remain the same as in H3 for the upcoming v0.8 beta. Yet, a part of the team insists on H2 percentages.

Every time I look at the beautiful screenshots you post Orzie, the "four orbs" at the edges of the main adventuring screen from the Heroes III interface always catch me off guard. I guess it's impossible/a lower priority to have the good/evil Heroes II interface graphics that surrounded the adventuring screen? Hope that just like the rest of the HII graphics, we will see them added to the mod as well.
The main features that makes baratorch's HD mod practically mandatory for playing Heroes III are the new army management buttons and other quality of life enhancements. I personally still play with the original resolution, just at 16:10.
And a final note on the Heroes II vs III discrepancies. I personally would like to see more Heroes II formulas/mechanics etc. where it makes sense, since we already have HD mod, HotA and hundreds of ERA mods that use the Heroes III mechanics, but their advancements have practically made Heroes II DOSBox play impossible, not because the game is bad (vanilla HII is my fav Heroes game, and despite having some glaring flaws, I still think it does some things better than III), but because no one would go back to play a game without all the new interface/time saving features.
Anyway, as a whole everything looks great, which makes waiting so very painful (I hope we are finally nearing the 0.8 release).
Cheers to the team and keep us updated.

H2 with H3 game engine and HD Mod is excelent way to enjoy this mod. H3 was very slow even with fast animations.

That was one of the main reason i always prefeared Heroes 2 to Heroes 3 until WoG and HotA come out, anyway a HoM&M with H2 graphic style, animations, sound effect and music with H3 engine is like a dream come true.

I treat a HotA as 3rd official expansion pack. WOG is good because allow us to modify H3 without reverse engineering and you can script near everything.

HD mod support is super important, so I'm glad to see some progress here. So does Baratorch now work in a more direct relationship with your team to support The Succession Wars Mod? Also, I want to ask if stable multiplayer via non-hotseat modes will be fully supported?
It would be cool if competitive multiplayer would be a thing. Although, it's a shame if the features of HD+ will remain unsupported.

That would certainly be a shame considering how promising the rest of Succession Wars looks. Luckily Orzie has my number.

It would be awesome if he at least included some code in the HD Mod helping us out.

WoG is WoG. Baratorch is not going to troubleshoot its tandem with the HD Mod, it's a headache.

It would be actually cool to have some more talks about the map editor, having problems currently

Looks promising but whoever designed the two first maps should learn the editor basics. Oak trees in desert and palm trees in underground? I thought this mod was going to show us a new level of aesthetics, keep it everywhere
The inferno area looks better but also the new objects seem blending much less into. Is the left corner building's roof changing its color according to the player or is just a coincidence?

It's not a desert and not an underground)
Steppe and wastelands (in use-case most near to H3's rough).

First image doesn't show desert... It's steppe from Barbarian townscreen But I think that with proper decorations it can be easily altered to a sandy terrain. Only your imagination limits you.
On the second screenshoot I was trying to get closer to American canyons:
They're a bit overcrowded with new objects, because I was trying to reveal as much as I can. The Sanctuary on third image was put there just because it was a recreated NWC concept and I really wanted to show it to you
Guild with purple roofs is taken straight from H1.

You can actually also find both find oak trees in deserts and palm trees on wasteland in certain H2 maps. I guess H2 maps don't restrict themselves by what is "normal" and neither should H3SW

You gave very good examples, notice how mapmaker paints dirt terrain under the oak trees then notice the many rivers on wasteland around the palm trees, while in the first map there is none.
The main difference between H2 and H3 editor is that the latest allows mixtures of various decorations on same square, which attenuates the contrasts and natural blending. Also if I understand well, SW will not allow random maps (right?) so the only reference will be the user designed.

Salamandre, you're too fundamental We're talking about game with tons of ideas unheard of in our reality. I am just playing with possibilities which gaves me editor and hope that people will enjoy playing maps as much as I enjoy making them. If somebody won't like my creations - well, I believe that other mapmakers will provide maps better than mine
Orzie mentioned several times, that RMG in SWmod will work. But when it will be? I don't know.
