The mod needs either H3 SoD or H3 Complete to run. The latest public release is the very(!) outdated Januar 2013 beta. You can download it here. We are currently working on a new version.

Presenting the 4 map formats named after the game titles!
As you may have already guessed, HoMM1: A Strategic Quest, HoMM2: The Succession Wars, and HoMM3: The Shadow of Death map formats are reserved for the conversions of the classic maps which will be playable under "new conditions" in HoMM2 atmosphere.
However, the 4th map format with a Dragon's head (those who played Might&Magic may very well recognize it thanks to Larry Elmore and New World Computing) is named in a little different way: "The Mandate of Heaven", and this is not a coincidence! This is no less than a teaser of new maps, new campaigns and new storyline dedicated to Enroth!
More updates presumably coming after October, 28th.

Its not recreation of heroes 3 in the style of heroes 2 but recreation and expansion of heroes 2 using H3 engine.

anyway all these creatures would be nice addition to that what you have mentioned...I saw Gorgons some time ago...I thought the rest is coming too..
I didn't think it is H3 in H2 graphics but H2 with H3 creatures in external dwellings (of course in H3 engine)...

I'm afraid you won't find what you look for. The Gorgons are currently a discarded concept (one of the reasons was that D&D is a modern fantasy while Heroes 1-2 feature classic mythology or fairy-tale concepts).
The exception is made towards the concepts of Might & Magic VI: The Mandate of Heaven, for this is the game which officially continues the story of Heroes 2 and its plot has a special place in the development of H3SW. Yet, we tried to make these concepts looking more H2-ish all the way. Some may still need graphic improvements.
    
A little priority is given to some MM3-MM5 concepts, for these were the games which were predecessors to Heroes 1, the graphics of which in turn inherited many feats from these games. Some new heroes are based on the portraits from World of Xeen, just like their older H1 brethren are.
Still, some H3 and even MMVII-MMVIII concepts may still find their place in the bestiary of the game. There are a lot of people wanting them, counting some of the team members, so probably there should be a decent compromise sometime.

This will be standalone mod, not ERA based. And in this topic you'll find screens with HD mod, so...

Yeah, the platform is the same. What is improved is the visual aspect, with the installation becoming more user-friendly for players inexperienced in modding.
Advanced perv.. users will not lose the ability to use Era Mod Manager functionality to combine multiple mods. We even think about designing our own officially compatible mods in future.
If only we could stop time.

Sadly we probably wont be getting the mod this year either. I'm skeptical for 2017 as well.
I really think that by this point its better to release what they have and keep working on it while there is something out there to build a community around, sort of like Steam Early Access. They can even attract more people to help them this way too.
Having these screenshot teases a couple of times per year is not doing anything, while the years keep rolling...
And yes, I know that they are doing it out of their free time and good things take time, just an observation and a friendly suggestion.
