1. No, but I'd like to go there.
2. + The american identity with it's values and ideals of freedom, entreprenurship, individual responsibility etc. It has been very successful spreading these values worldwide and that has strongly contributed to making the world into a much better, more prosperous and globalized place.
+ The solid constitution.
+ Much of its system of government with it being a republic, a federation, having a constitutional court etc.
- There's way to much religion and ignorance (in some parts).
- The political system has been proven to be a mess. The in-practice two party system sucks.
3. Sweden.
4. Some people have the opposite values of those in nr 2.

I have never been to the states, but for sure I want to. California and New York being the main things that attract me, but why not Florida too. Well I love the "intelligence", I mean the science is top notch in US. I also like the people, who travel to Europe at least, are outgoing and friendly. You can just talk for hours and hours! I love to travel. So the positive is the people, the culture of science, of course pop culture like the movies/series are awesome too.
What I don't like about US culture, is that emphasizes peopless success too much. You need 3 cars, just to look better than your neighbour etc. Maybe the income thingie is too important, or the status, for my taste. Also the religious Americans are the worst. I have not witnessed such narrowmindedness a lot.
I live in Finland, have lived here all my life although travelled the world quite a lot. I dislike that people are vey anti-social, they like to keep to themselves. Unless it is weekend and you want to get wasted. The life is very structured, we love organized stuff. Maybe it is good tho, need to live somewhere elso to know.

Never been to U.S. but from what I read, it's a rich and quite beautiful country. Definitively a good place to live. I would definitely visit it if I weren't piss poor.

What is your country doomforge?
re New York city is awesome. It's the closest thing the US has to the dense hive-like metropolises of the old world. And the one time that I was there I was actually surprised at how clean, quiet, and orderly it was (Manhatten anyway, probably the other boroughs are different).
The greatest thing about the US is the diversity of climates and cultures - which means that if you don't like your neighbors and environs you can pick up and go somewhere more to your liking.
The worst thing is the dysfunctional political system, where somebody can win the popular vote for president but still lose the election; where a party can collect less votes than the other party but still control the house (see the Republicans re the last election); where power in the senate is skewed towards all the thinly populated states of the midwest; where you can have a leader that's of a different party than the legislative body; where you have a court of 9 people who can use whatever contrived argument they choose to overrule all of the aforementioned elected leaders. It's just ****ed beyond belief.

Sure, I've already mentioned that not all of the typical american values are shared by the Swedes. We don't have a system where an in-depth constitution is used. We're not a federation or republic, which I'd like us to be. There's very little religion in Sweden, 90% of the population are either atheist or agnostic. The political system is okay but I want to make some changes when it comes to our parliament (reducing the number of parlamentarians, removing the 4%-requirement for a party to get into the parliament, strengthening the choice of electing individual politicans from a party)

1.I have never been to USA,but I have relatives,who live and work there.
2.I like the idea of open space,which I have seen on TV or read about the states.I also like to think of the straight roads,that can lead you from one state(coast) to another.
3.I have lived only in my country,Bulgaria.
4.I like the nature of my country,it's beautiful and there are many worthy places to visit.I hate the present state of the roads,which don't allow a safe travel.

I like the US for being a multicultural country because of being fed up by Nationalistic BS in the Balkans.
Also, the US does offer somethings that people in poor countries can only dream like:
Good salaries
Health Inssurance
Good Education and so on.

Currently living in the partially recognized Kosovo. Its just a mess of a place. You would not want to live in a hopeless, futureless society.
Countries I have been or visited:Albania, Montenegro,Macedonia, Turkey and Germany. Turkey being the only country that I did enjoy being there compared to the others.
Germans and Austrians are just, to put it blunt, snows. The most egocentric, selfish and unfriendly people I have ever met.

I like nothing about my country, except my family. As for the places I visited...really, there was nothing to like there either.
I have yet to visit a place where I would not get pissed off. Europe is a mess right now when it comes at treating Black people, foreigners, immigrants and so on...I am pretty sure the US does not have such problems.
Just, ugh...on the other hand, some of those people are plain criminals. Its just a mess in europe.
I also have the feelign that most europeans think themselves as being superior or something.

Meh. There are things I have heard about the US that are very unerving like gang violence, gun violence, drugs, crime, religious extremists and so on. They are the same things I also hate about my coutry aswell. So yeah, I would not go and live in the US if getting gun or gang raped by some gangsters is a common thing there...
Yeah, the US sounds like mexico to me.

What is my opinion on the US? It is the greatest nation on Earth, though it is now on the decline, as people have learned they can vote themselves "benefits" to steal from others.

In the US we are still free, we don't have a "shadow" or "pretense" of freedom. Those we are losing our freedoms. Once a person would have been ***** slapped and had his *** kicked every step of the way until he was across the border for suggesting the federal government had the power to force citizens to buy health insurance or any other products. Now communists have infiltrated high level positions in the government/judiciary and the Constitution is being "reinterpreted" to say the feds have all power over all people in all circumstances of their little puny lives.

I've lived in the U.S. for 58 years next month. My ancestors came here from Wales, Germany and France during the mid 1800s, mixed a little with two Indian tribes and settled in various midwestern states. Most of my life has been spent in Missouri but I've lived in Kansas, Illnois, Connecticut, Florida and visited twelve others.
The number one thing that I dislike about this country is that it IS a melting pot and culture does fade in a generation of two. With three European countries in my blood, (but a few gens back) I've had to go to them and read from books to learn anything about my roots.
I want people to learn English and to know our history etc. but it's a shame that the many flavors of our world are lost to marketing's "keep up with the Jones" for older folks and "be like your favorite star" for the younger set.
Bottom line, it's all materialism nowadays and I detest it. Little Italy's or Little Ireland's fade too quickly for my values. Chinatowns last though, so maybe I'm part Chinese.
Anyway, when I've traveled abroad several times and heard young-people overseas say; they want to come here? I think to myself; No, don't; value your customs, history and heritage (compared to Europe; ours is very young)that you have; carve your own niche there. <imo> Today, this is a land of "reduced opportunity" since the middle-class workplaces have left for other shores.
For me, after our Freedom; the best thing going in the U.S. is our National Parks. The NP system is an awesome privilage and not only for our own citizens but a gift to the world as well. Check out the Documentary that Ken Burns made on our NPs and you'll see what I mean. He also details the struggles to make each of them and most Americans are probably clueless.

1. Nope, but all those movies, news, internet and other stuff has made sure that I know many times more about the US than what an american would know about Sweden. Not that I would demand or expect an american to know that much about a single european country with less than 10 million people. Point at scandinavia and say some nice things about Sweden and I would be pleased.
3. None other than my precious kingdom but I guess I would not mind living in any other nordic nation or english speaking nation.
4. A few examples...
- Sweden Democrats
- Few major achievements of our own
- Fall of the Swedish Empire
- Stockholm and Skåne (not really, but you have to hate something right?)
- Penis shaped country (maybe not bad depending on how you see it)
+ Environmental and humanitarian care
+ Last war was fought around 200 years ago
+ Arguably the most atheistic, tolerant and gender equal nation
+ The swedish flag is damn awesome
+ Favourable geographic position

+ The absolutely best things about USA are the scientists and inventors who are world leading in improving technology. It is amazing how these people can spawn in a crazy country like USA but much respect for that.
+ The american entertainment industry is vastly superior to others wether it be movies, games or internet. There is little point for other countries to even try doing the big stuff as competing will only result in failure.
+ Americans drive on the right(correct) side if the road unlike the brittish.
+ Despite all their international flaws, they are unlikely to be a threat to most of the world so if there has to be a strongest country, USA is better than China or Russia.
+ Different climates.
- Christian Talibans, bigots and general idiots.
- Money is everything.
- Self-rightousness and warmongering.
- The word "soccer" is a sin to use. American football should be called Handball but that sport already exists as well.
- Legally corrupt politics. Two parties dancing tango to appear like the voters have a choice. Corporatism.
- Urgash worshipers and chaos lovers are bound to spawn demons.
- International policies. No respect for other country's sovereignity or their people at all.
- Propaganda spreading media.
- Gun violence.
- The US flag is red, white and blue. Seriously, those 3 colors are the most uncreative flag colors possible. There are countless of flags with those colors and any such flag is lame.
Well, this is all for now but I may very well have forgotten something important. In general I think of USA as the country with the best but also the worst. Still much better than countless of countries that are simply competing over who is the worst.

There isn't. There is only a local cuisine - for example Cajun. There is also each and every kind of foreign American cuisine - Chinese food in the US differs from Chinese food somewhere else, but I'd bet that Chinese food in San Francisco is different from Chinese food in New York.
By definition AMERICAN cuisine would have to be the same in every part of the States and be characteristic for the States only. I don't see anything like that. "Mom's Apple Pie"? Maybe.
Steaks are not American cuisine: there are "steakhouses" all over the world, but I don't know one that's called "American Steakhouse" - they are called "ARGENTINA Steakhouses".
Fast Food, by the way, is no cuisine, but garbage.
