So many remakes out there....they could make a remake of H2/H3!

Yeah about half...I'd totally forgotten Risk; good fun that was. Battle Chess, all I remember is some sort of walking Rock-monster smashing other pieces over the head...like H5's earth-elementals.<L>
LucPatenaude said: No wonder that I get a lot of ingenious ideas while apposing a new Might and Magic Heroes game proposal.
But of course!

@LucPatenaude: Risk & Gauntlet were great! Jeez, Gauntlet...looong time ago!
@Storm-giant: Remake of heroes 3 would be awesome...I would keep the mechanics the same, just update graphics and menu's!

Including the completely unbalanced Air & Earth magic? Or useless skills like Eagly Eye?
I wouldn't mind a similar gameplay, but the skill system could use some loving. Perhaps something like H5 implemented?

Perhaps, without the stupid racial abilities. Too much micromanagement.

Actually, I would rather have a remake of H2 or H4 before H3 - after all, VCMI makes the remake almost useless

By all versions,Heroes 4 needs the most work to be done : the music and graphics are pretty good, and the game play is medium. Also,a random map generator would make it more fun.
They almost got it right.

And the AI could get some work as well.
Also, for any of the older games, Simultaneous Turns would be an invaluable gift...

Heroes IV suffers from having few Units. You can only have acess to 5 types of units and none are upgradable. For me that was always a big problem, its a cool system. But more units for each faction would be needed.

But being able to have several heroes on the army helped on that regard!

One thing has always bothered me about this discussion surrounding the HoMM franchise and that is why in the world UBI cannot get a bigger vision and realize they could make two differently focused games, one to explore new concepts and ideas...like H6 but also another separate release that takes the best from the past versions and create a sort of updated classic.
Everyone can't be made happy but a new release stemming from H4-6? and the Classic from HoMM 1-3? (maybe 5&6 on to 7 and 1-4?)Two choices in one base game's "side by side" creation, would be better than the last single-effort that satisfied only a few.
I think the future of gaming should be...putting game-choices, conditions and set-up into the hands of the players. It's very short-sighted and frankly silly to see companies completely headed in the opposite direction and forcing fans to drive-by snacks, instead of inviting them to sit down and enjoy a long & tasty meal.

The idea is nice, but it's more less what they are doing now with each release (H5 like an upgrade of H3, H6 with weird ideas...)
I'm sure a classic Heroes would please anyone though.

Most games nowadays relay on graphics/video stream and music to become successful, which is what the demand is.However very little effort is put on game play itself.
Also, they have to write a story and focus on the characters they build, which takes time.
If you look at the 90's period with the classic games arcade, they didn't have to worry about graphics back then,so all the energy was put on making the experience challenging.
And this went on even until the year 2000,but also on a p.c. platform. How many games had a success like Starcraft 1?.Very few.
