Not as truth, but apparently it's my subjective vision. And everything I did is just pointed at that from someones perspective your actions doesn't look like something acceptable. It is up to you to decide whether you react somehow on this remark, or ignore it. Simple.

Well, I thank you for pointing that out, but you might try to see things from my point of view too. My favourite game series (snow, my first game series, I've been playing HoMM since before I even went to school!) is being dragged through mud for the last seven years and the person resposible is staying smug and confident in his "vision"? Like hell I am going to let this slide!

Erwan made this personal when he announced that Ashan was "his baby", simply refusing to accept the fact that Ashan was created by Fabrice Cambounet and fleshed out by Nival and both of those parties had better understanding of what Heroes game was that Erwan will ever have.

I realise we've gotten offensive at the end there. Believe me, that was exactly the point, because otherwise they would not listen at all. As evident by their reaction, we were at the very least heard. I hope that will execute the changes necessary and HoMM will be good once again. If not - I will simply abandon the series and keep playing the old games.

I can't hear what exactly. You are trying to describe somehow we did something bad there but obviously unable to give a straight reference. Useless talk. Anyway we are living in different realities to my mind.

Well at the end all what you achieved is a faeces and vomit all over the comment section and a bunch of offended 'moralists'.
You'd better sue them (Ubi) with class suit for improper product quality. I'll gladly join one. With press and all. And we even might create an independent organization who will monitor and rate the technical quality of video games like ESRB or something. Like "This game is rated A+, and recommended for purchase if you like, because it's free from bugs or any technical issues" or "This Game is rated C- for unacceptable release condition and not recommended for purchase until all bugs will be fixed". Not just a simple review from video game magazine, but a global and standardized technical quality rating.
That's how they will listen to you for sure. Instead you prefer to relieve yourself into comments.
Feel the difference.

Well, that might work with some other developer in some other country. Problem is, Ubisoft is known for its buggy releases, right? Unity was in even worse condition upon release and they let it slide. Even if we lawyer up, we do not have any way of beating Ubisoft, who will simply prolong the lawsuit until our pockets are empty.

Also, about creating the ESRB-analogue. You should learn the history of this organization and the way it was created. ESRB was created not to protect the adults, but kids and it was much easier to push for its creation because kids in almost every culture in the world are sacred. Creating a widely accepted organization that has a law protected right to grade the quality of a product AND to oblige game companies to place this grade on the box... This will need government support and even more lawyering firepower. And ain't noone outside is going to support this, since we are not kids, we are adults who are fully responsible for our actions. ESRB had Child Rights Activists, we have noone.

Also, fighting for objective quality in videogames without outside support was exactly what GamerGate did. You might want to check out what happened to them.

Finally, the problem is not Ubi in its entirety. Ubi has made good games before and will make good games in the future. Child of Light, for example, was amazing. Problem is that current series management is not up to the task and is having the delusions of grandeur. Since Ubi ignores all calls for replacing him, they might need events like this to understand the full effect Erwan has had on the series, to understand that he has disappointed almost all fans of any previous installments. Ubi needed a reality check and I hope we delivered it. Hell, if Erwan does not get his bonus this month and realises that he might need to start actually working for it - it was not for naught.

my friend, once again, I'd like to welcome you to the wild, wild west of the video games industry,

out here, there are a million cowboys and nary an independent watchdog or reviewer taken seriously in sight, if you as the consumer aren't prepared to vituperatively stand up for yourself with all you've got you can be 100% sure you'll be taken for a ride lol

What's the point to sue in a pre-defined losing case? There's no way to sue a publisher for a bad game. Don't forget that most of us are  dudes with their businesses and jobs so it's not that easy to arrange own time and pay a lawyer ~30k euro for the whole case and try to get some action.
On the other hand there's just few hours of free time fun. We weren't trying to change the things at all. Just making fun. Doesn't mean immaturity and stuff like that. What the point of your logic when "mature" guys should be serious as snow and avoid casual laughing? lol...

It's fine, you delivered some good reading material for me. I didn't know that 152-FZ applied to photos, yet I wonder to what extent it does. I mean, if we use a portion of producer's interview in a negative review, are we breaking the law? If we are using a picture of a person, next to the quote he said, in a negative review, are we breaking a law? Are we allowed to draw caricatures on famous people? Or does it only apply to making memes?

And you decided to turn it into something personal, because you don't see any other option, as 36% on Steam is not enough. Okay, I got it. Can't argue with it.

One must not forget that it stretches beyond Heroes situation. Many other complains, problems, unfinished games, problems, problems and then, add that result. If ALL that is not enough, people might as well start trying other ways to communicate things, because keeping it civil and shut staring idly into the infinite won't do. Besides, as it's been proven that Ubisoft sucks in communication skills, sooner or later something is bound to work, because the past proves that some stuff haven't brought the desired result, or they would know better.

It's absolutely legal for public content, not private.

It depends on your "target's" behaviour. It's prohibited officially. But you won't be pursued until this person voices her / his displeasure (like it happened in the BBPE case ).
