DoubleDeck said: I remember H5 where you just look at the map and see everything exactly, and if there were hidden items behind a tree, it was easy to spin and check.
Press the ALT key while playing to highlight adventure map objects, including stuff you can pick up. The outline will be shown through objects.
Press and hold the right mousebutton, then move the mouse to rotate the camera. Works both on the adventure map as well as the combat map.

That's reassuring. Thought you'd say you enjoyed it because it was good. Enjoying it because of the passion for the previous games is a bit more understandable.

To be honest I need to apply Xuxo's textures, never liked the original contrast and colours from H5.

In Polish localization, many voice actors that had been present in Heroes V returned in Heroes VII. Still, I think that their perfomance in Heroes VII is a bit better than in Heroes V. Sadly, most of the other aspects of the game were worsened, when compared to Heroes V. I'd even go as far to say that campaigns in Heroes V were better than in Heroes VII. Maybe not in terms of storyline, as it's better in VII, but the way in which that story is presented through gameplay. This may be mostly because of dwindled mechanics, but anyway, when I play Heroes VII, it quickly becomes a chore instead of a pleasure it is supposed to be. Most of the maps feel like an endless streak of fetchquests. Whilesome more linear maps are definitely a welcome change from time to time, in Heroes VII they seem to overshadow the more standard maps, which are the main reason why players get the game from this franchise.
Situation is only slightly better in skirmishes, where random skill system provides so much needed element of surprise but overall this addition cannot save this game from becoming dull quickly. Add to that bland visuals, unispired sound effects, visual glitches (units that seem to levitate, bridges that finish over the ground leivel, models that are unable to make proper turns,) a plethora of bugs and you get a game that will fall be forgotten soon after my last game session.
Some people state that Heroes VII is better than Heroes VI. This is simply untrue. While Heroes VI had a great share of flaws and after finishing with it I immediately came back to TotE, this game was able to capture my attention for quite a while and did not feel tiring, as it at least tried (and mostly failed) to implement new gameplay solutions. JJ's statement that each new iteration of a franchise should reinvent its formula is too liberal in my taste, it should at least improve upon the predecessors. This goal, sadly, wasn't achieved.

The update.
- Saturation update: love it
- About level cap removal: that should coincide with the plans to alter hero specialization/abilities. Look to H3 and H5 for inspiration on the specialization front, and try to add ones that increase with level. The damage-dealing ability at the start of a combat, as is proposed, could be like that. Base damage + x% per 2 levels of the hero, for instance.

Giving with one hand, taking with the other?
I do wonder what that skill cap is going to be like. I hope it won't be too restrictive. Please keep the free skilling and random skilling as it is now, and add the skill cap as something optional. Don't go messing around capping this and that, it might not be appreciated. I suggest that you first give us insight in the idea through an article, allowing us to respond to it and share ideas. Do a poll, do something. But don't create it in secret and release it too late like with the skillwheel.

In H5 it made perfect sense that you could not pick all abilities from a skill, since it made you specialize. H7 on the other hand is just not built that way..
