@Foxxxer: Pre-made maps have always been on the cheating side no matter...
the difficulty level you get to set the map to. This huge problem originate the Heroes 5's Vanilla Edition's time(2005-2006).
You must spend a whole real day of your own life at completing one single extra large map. These maps are so super packed with extra spots that, you must concentrate boosting your hero's movement points pool in order to accelerate your reach.
Just like in Heroes 5, you start your invasion march in one direction of the map then, as the weeks go by, you have to have built another invasion sized army to go the other opposite direction. And, when it comes to really large maps, you might have to build a third invasion army for an assault on the center front of the map as well.
I just finished the newest Small map that was included within this new patch 2.0 and, was playing Haven vs. Necropolis. I telling ya, never had to defeat so many necro heroes ever. What I did is to make sure that my early game was well creeped and could have access to these two extra core dwellings in order, a few weeks later on, be able to amass a large enough army of the 3 main core units of the wolf duchy up to a staggering amount of soldiers(close to a whopping 500 of them). Large numbers and experience of the ruler(me) made up for all the differences on that main battlefield of the necros. main hero. So, obviously, I had to make sure I can sustain the financing of both the town's development and, the army's steady rise to a decent number.
In conclusion, the player has to learn how to overcome the almost impossible. I can not do that well on Heroes 5. Probably because I was getting used to a spoiled brat like of an amount of starting resources compared to today's Heroes VII. Use all that gives bonuses of movement and, see your main hero crossing all territories like as if these were merely puny islands.

Can anyone post a description of fortress tier 7 units abilities?
EINHERJAR abilities ?
ARDENT DRAGON abilities?
I think I read somewhere that EINHERJAR takes 50% less damage taken from melee attackers which is INSANE if true.

A quick description...
Red dragon- immunine to fire and creates a wall of fire on any empty square within its range of attack. Similar to h5 just bigger Aoe.
Upgrade- adds more fire...now he burns the ground wherever he walks...err..flies.
Fire Giants- Magma skin : can't be targeted by negative fire spells and any kind of fire damage can only kill the top stack. So basically they're anti fortress creatures (borrrrriiinnnnng)
Upgrade- he gets a one use ranged attack with + 10 might and the charge will refill whenever he kills another enemy stack. He also gets a fancy cleave. Deals 50%damage as fire to adjacent enemies.
I think these abilities are extremely underwhelming. So are the elite tier except maybe valkiery. Fire Giants are another slow, tanky, cleaving, and mundane champion unit in my eyes. Was hoping they'd be more like Devils

How can the game still be so buggy? I mean, if you cannot enter a map object you should be able to enter ...
Also, I don't think the random skilling works correctly: 3 times in a row a 25 Light Magic Novice offered....
Somehow this is a lot less fun that it should or might be.
EDIT:
Decided to give the RMG a try. Smallest map 2 players, bla, bla, bla. Game generates the map. My turn, and I click on the green build icon that brings you directly to the building screen - not in this case, though. In this case it transports me right to the victory screen telling me that I just won a difficult victory after 0 months o weeks and 0 days, worth 30 Uplay points.
With that monumental victory in the bag, registering the game is asking me whether I want to play the map again, I feel cocky and decide, hell, yes. After some loading, it's my turn again. I click on the green icon again - another hard-won victory.
If it wasn't so sad, it would actually be funny. How is that possible?
I'm not sure, but I think the string for this map was 30760 or so.

How do i enable this random skill wheel?
I have homm 7 without expansion - patched on 2.0.
If i start the game, the skill system works like always (choosing the skill)
Edit:
Found it in single player random maps - anything about campaigns?

I just bought TbF yesterday on uPlay, but there's a (big) problem: all of dwarves' units abilities are missing... I checked on the editor, and they just weren't there. But I saw that they were written in the base file, so I don't understand why all these abilities files are just missing. Also, the dwarf faction icon (the dragon) is missing, it's just replaced by an ugly red square.
Could someone explain me why TbF is such a snowty expansion?
Also, is someone there who can help me to fix these bugs?
Thanks

thy!
Awesome - the thing that i missed so much in h6 from h5
Edit:
It works but i got no skills offered in a allready started campaign - trying it now in a new one...
Edit2:
If you start a new campaign, all is fine.
Another question:
Is it possible to create a "skill tree" like in h5? So basically an ability which has requirements from another skill?

Did you install some mods before? If yes, uninstall them.

Sooooooo no Stream despite being announced one month prior, no reviews about the game, €30 for an expansion that only brings 1 fation, 2 campaigns, a few scenarios and a bunch of heroes to vanilla owners; and we know that the devs aren't neither fired nor in vacation?
Yup, sounds about H7 alright.

To be fair, I skipped most of the usual ECP vs Ashanlogists rumblings. Somehow, those still make for a lot of movement here

I couldt be wrong but isnt that because the xpack is stand-alone?

That does not justify the price since all the code is pretty much done.
I don't remember but wasn't Shades of darkness like 20€ when it was released?

It might be my impression, but it feels awfully overpriced, all things considered.
Mind you, I've never been happy with the 'add all content to the base game' attitude they've been holding since H6. Stuff like artifacts or scenarios added in the DLCs where also accesible by the vanilla users, making the DLC owners effectively pay €10 for a two map campaign? Yeah no.
