Been there for some time. Really nice place and I think I've even seen some of our guys there also
Like I said before in some other thread: Triumphs devs are great, they've literally reacted to everything the fansbase wrote down on the boards like bug findings, balancing suggestions etc. I remember helping them correcting some minor things like spelling errors for my native languages version of the game, and those were actually fixed! Talk about the polar opposite of you know who...

Only got AoW 3 vanilla. The campaign is cheesy as snow but still a lot better than H5 at least. Plus you have the opportunity at being a total badass and going full H*tler on the Humans if you're the hot elven lady princess - the final result will leave a bitter taste in the mouth though...
Agree that the game is great in general though. Can't decide what faction is my favourite. Probably Sorcerer.

Triumph Studios has received funding from the guy behind MineCraft, though, because he was kinda addicted to the previous Age of Wonders titles .

Age of Wonders is interesting, but I find Endless Legend to be even more interesting, as it incorporates the Sci-Fi elements and Fantasy like the Migh & Magic RPG games, and how the Heroes of Might and Magic series was never allowed to due to the reaction to the Forge town.
The closest was the Dragon Golem from Heroes of Might & Magic IV, which if I remember it was suggested by Greg Fulton as re-use/reincarnation of the Forge Town idea, as Greg suggested NWC wanted to reintroduce the idea somehow, the Dragon Golem and is pretty technological, when look at from close:
http://www.acidcave.net/images/ciekawostki/dragongolem.jpg
About related/similar games to Heroes, there is also the old two Etherlords games, which combine the Heroes formula, with Magic the Gathering, more literally though, than Heroes IV.
Curiously, it was made by Nival before they made Heroes V, and them making Etherlords, aparently contributed to Ubi hiring them. Ths also why I wrote in post on the previous page, Nival rather knew the Ancients universe lore at least somewhat.
A third Etherlords game, would also be nice though.
The Therlords also have a technological faction, ie the Synthets.

stop snowing demeaning the Community of Heroes!
Why so angry lately, yogi?
because all the beautiful minds that truly appreciate the spirit of homm have been under siege for 15 years, as capitolism claws at one of our last bastions of bliss. with just a brief respite a decade ago, i guess i only have 10 years worth of mana points. patience has run dry, and now we are besieged by civil war itself. we must not sap our energy fending both capitolism from our walls and the complacent zombies it creates from within, as they fight to relegate us to a "subset" in the history books. heroes of might and magic is not just another tactical rpg,
"we can create worlds together, explore unknown lands together, cooperate on quests, compete for domination, make friends, make enemies, or explore our own individual fun zones". this is the spirit upon which this and many other communities around the world were formed. congregations of creativity! im tired of checking one my favorite sites to see another battle between those that get it, and zombies actually defending bug-ridden software that disgraces the once prolific title of Heroes of Might and Magic. this is war. united we stand, divided we fall. we must diligently continue to create cures to this zombie plague that ubi has unleashed, whilst beheading any that breach the walls of our inner keep (except fred).
Have fun, and watch out for the Black Dragons!

Stevie said: It's not just a better game, AoW 3 blows Heroes 7 completely out of the water.
You don't say http://aow.triumph.net/aow3-sales-milestone-the-new-game-and-gdc/
And correct me if I'm wrong but AoW III had no 'big' companies to handle marketing for them. They've based their 'marketing' mostly on Youtube videos, direct communictation with the fansbase and the trust for their vision and reputation of the franchise...
It's almost like a bad joke when you think about it. Triumph has about 15 employees while Limbic alone has over 50. They used a homemade engine with no issues or bugs while Limbic could barely compile something remotely working in UE3. AoW3's graphics are brand new while Heroes 7 massively reuses assets. Launching and loading take seconds in AoW3 while they take minutes in Heroes 7. Gameplay and pace in AoW3 is fast and rewarding with that one more turn feel while Heroes 7 is boring and slow as a turtle. Interface is user friendly and there's a tutorial for newbs while in Heroes 7 you get lost in all the poor relay of information. The replayability features and modding in AoW3 are so solid and easy to use compared to Heroes 7 that even JJ has his own Necro mod. Triumph forums are teeming with threads and feedback while Ubisoft and Limbic's communication is at the level of a deaf-mute. AoW3 wins a few awards and nominations while Heroes 7 barely struggles from negative reception. Triumph's marketing is apparently light years ahead of Ubisoft's, managing to appeal to about 10 times more wallets at half the release price.
Let all of that sink in for a second.
