I happened to be one with the real life No-one faction. And, they're not on Ashan. They are all here, Earth.
The younger generation of post secondary students might end up with a way too advanced of a mobile PC(today's laptops/notebooks). Stuck in Direct X 12 with no or, very little, compatibility with the Direct X 10/11 graphical renditions of the previous VS redistributable C++ files that makes your PC able to understand the coding of these apps./games.
The only future for this franchise is to embrace the Direct X 12 era.
Besides, 100% monitor screens that are a good 10 years of age, can't even deal with Direct X 10 nor 11. Direct X 9.0d is quite a challenge for these aging monitors as well. Being stuck with Heroes 5(.5) and Heroes 6 Complete is starting to suck to a lot of the really behind the times kind of gamers.

Have you ever heard the very famous saying that goes by this: "The present day is already the future."
A good example would be: My workplace is the past but, everybody there(other staffers)would think to be the place of the present day, while back at my own personal living place, my own present day would be in these staffers' extreme future.
Therefore, for you, I get to be in your own future as of right now.
Do not need a time machine to do the time travel, only a transit bus that commutes me from my place to the workplace. Pretty sure it is the exact same with most corporate staffers and federal government employees.
The word TODAY, here, in Ottawa, means a time window of about 20 years(1997 to 2017). The word NOW, is the only way to state when things are(2017).

100% agree. I once mentioned here, that the graphics of H3 is childish. I was surprised to hear from "hardcore fans" not "that I am wrong", but that "what is my problem with children’s drawings"? Well nothing special... Just I don’t want to see them in a computer fantasy game.
There is so far one objective fact: Heroes 7 is not finished, so there is no point buying it.
Not objective but very likely: Heroes7 will never be finished, so there will be no point buying it.

Truthfully, I'd say that M&M always had something of a fairy tale in it. No sense denying that it was present in the old universe, no sense denying that it's present in Ashan. In the end it's all about how it manifests.

H3 childish? I would understand if one was saying that about the cartoonish style of H1-H2 but H3 doesn't really qualify as such. Unless you categorize as childish anything that isn't dark, raw and gritty which seems to be the trend nowadays. But that's not really the point, the series was always meant to have a fairytale feel and it did just that.
Ubi went for over-the-top epic and the results ranged from ludicrous to actually pretty cool. You could say that they found their own visual identity but hits aside there were plenty of misses - Even leaving aside the overdecoration syndrome, colour-coded issues, the shiny syndrome and the forced cultural adaptations. I mostly liked them but a number of them made me smile or shake my head.

Ok childish is not a good word anyway. I mean not drawn FOR children, but BY children. So not the anime stuff, but yes this: These are.
It does remind me of original H3 "artisctic style". And yes it doesn’t fit with H7 or H5 style, lol.

I mean, it is like from a “child’s imagination” + the quality is like drawn by a child or overly artistic, like Picasso’s works. This I do not like in a fantasy game, but this is just personal preference. I would rather D&Š style art: forgotten realms, dark sun etc. which belong to category of I’d call “Fantasy realism”. And H5, H7 is closer to the latter. That I appriciate.

I doubt that. Besides, isn't it bad enough that the creatures were copied from other franchises?
I am not saying Heroes III and earlier ones haven't copied. But to copy the style would be too much. As in they could've been sued.

Yes, for example look at the red girl left to "backto school". Looks like the hobbit near the mage (artistically).
Edit: Oh the town screens are good. I never criticized those. Those are as good as H5 or even better.

When I say it is objectively bad to change art direction, it is in terms of critical reception, as all the people who loved the art of h1 up to 4 didn't recognize the game starting from 5 visually speaking. And since the feeling is totally different, is overall (with some exceptions) badly received by most of the existing fandom. It went even worse with h6 and h7 as even further away from the initial spirit, ironically making now h5 look closer to the canon titles.
