That's good news. Maybe in Might & Magic: Heroes 12 we'll get to see a Lizardman faction again.

War-overlord said: Marzhin, may I ask about my other theory, with the Gremlins and the Cabir serving the same function in different Wizard Houses, or confirmation that the Gremlins have been retconned out?
Gremlins as seen in H5 won't appear again. Cabirs are basically taking their place.
At first they were going to be called simply Gremlins as they were meant to be just a redesign of the creature (the Nival version was essentially the creature from Joe Dante's movie, and that was a problem).
But it was also pointed out that using the name Gremlin for a creature that repairs things was a bit weird as by definition, a Gremlin is a nasty little bugger who sabotages machines (especially planes). It's also a fairly modern concept, as it appeared during the 20th century.
So we eventually decided that since it was not going to look like the old Gremlin at all anyway, giving it a brand new name was probably a good thing, and we went with the name Cabir, based on the Cabeiri, who are strongly associated with Hephaestus and metalwork in Greek mythology.
The Cabir's lore includes a nod to the old name however, as it mentions the Cabirs are a bit clumsy they are sometimes nicknamed "Gremlins" by Wizard students, in reference to an old fairy tale about a creature that is notorious for breaking things up.

Marzhin I don't want to be too pushy, but...
Stevie said: Erwan said in plain English that apart from the Bar the Initiative System was not yet decided. That there was going to be a consultation with the fanbase on whether if it should be the Classical one turn one action as in Heroes 3 or multiple action points like the ATB in Heroes 5. Yet you and Xavier told us that it's settled that there's going to be a classic one turn one action system. So which is it now? Because I really want the ATB initiative system, and we were even discussing how you can implement that in this thread. Are we gonna be asked about it or is it really set in stone?

I didn`t understand if we will have that dynasty snow again?
It is too overpowered for multiplayer and I miss having sword artifacts.

I actually kinda like the Cabirs, they seem to be one of the few Ashan creatures to possess a personality.

If I understood right, Cabirs replaced Gremlins... Does it mean that H5 Gremlins as we know them never actually existed in Ashan universe?

That's great! Sorry for being bothersome but I thought you were ignoring me or the question for some reason. It's good to know you're looking into it.

I doubt it, since H5 is happening after H6 and H7, they are there or yet to be created. We just won't have them in this game, I think.

Marzhin thanks for answering me that simple question but I am really interested in the tavern. Can you reveal something?
At least know that everybody around here thinks that the tavern prior heroes 6 should return.
My 2 cents in the matter are that we should play with more heroes(max8) so their cost should not increase dramatically.

I actually think this might be the case. One huge retcome of the creature.

Well, Marzhin just said that Gremlins are out, period.
Though I don't like Gremlins retcon and hope too that H5 Gremlin might return "after Dark Messiah". They even had a background - part goblin, part lizard.

Just imagine the Gremlins of H5 were actually a type of Cabir rather than lizardmen born from experiments on Goblins or whatever

Ok, we can imagine that, but "Cabirs" with, I don't know how to name them, "magic guns" were in two games already (including CoH, which is pretty canonical). So can we assume that "Cabirs" in the future developed those "guns firing magic orbs"?

Marzhin First of all, thank you for answering our questions and that twitch was great !
So.. you said hero leveling up system will be non-random, but that you were still discussing it... In this thread you can see that only a few percentage (less than 10%) of fans here wish for the non-random system. I'm a huge fan of classic old random system but, I guess a way of implementing both systems (random skills + free perks for instance) could be new and welcomed as well. Or an option via menu to choose could be great too. Thank you very much for considering this, HoMM's randomness is part of the game and its charm for many

Marzhin, are there any plans/thoughts regarding homosexuality in Ashan? Personally I really appriciate companies that implement this in franschises, if its done right. Stories about close friendships wanting to evolve to something else, but made impossible by factors beyond controll etc. can make for gripping stories. Especially in fantasy settings. Inner battles for characters born in overly brutal and masculine enviroments and so on. Even just subtle hints like in a Sherlock/Dr Watson-style relationship can really and depth to characters.
It would be cool to know If the subject has ben discussed?
