All i see is statement, that each hero class will take diferent path on a skillwheel. The one. Not 2 skillwheels, not 3, not 36 ... but one.
If every hero class had the same skills too choose from, where would be the big difference between the 3 might hero classes?
It mentions how every hero-subcategory will allow you to go down different skill wheel paths, which means that every subcategory can learn stuff that the others can't,which again means that effectively everyone will have his own version of the skill wheel.
And since there exist 6 hero classes per faction(3 might and 3 magic),it would mean there are 36 heroes in total all with a different set of skills to choose from.

Well said. As absurd as it may sound I also think we'll get a total of 36 skillwheels. Unless the 6 Haven subclasses are an exception, but that would be quite odd since it would break the apparent offensive/balanced/defensive hero orientation.

no ... just no ... there is no way we will have 36 skillwheels lol. This is not what it says at all.
Each hero subcategory has access to diferent part of same skillwheel. And that's it. Maybe some skills will be universal.

How about that starting skills of certain class are given to them by default and one is unique. Other classes may take default skills of other class if they are able to (not all skills are available to all classes) and the rest of the wheel is same.
Unique skills allow unique wheel path available only to specific class or it can be separate tree that you can choose to develop on level up.

It'll probably be H5 Skillwheel with each class variants (3-4 different groups/branches). If they manage to make some interesting and balanced choices I'm ok with it, even with it's randomness (which was irritating when aiming for the Ultimate skill)...

Oh yes, there's that function...
I wonder how it will turn out, seems a lot of balancing will be involved...

I like this system. It will for sure increase the replay value of the game and make it more fun. Speaking about the balance - I would prepare some additional 10 GB of space on hard drive for balancing patches because there may be a hoast of them...

Well it has already been revealed that skills will depend on hero class and that there will be might/magic/neutral skills so it's not hard to picture the general idea.

I think the main difference will be in perk availability; the Vindicator will have some additional perks available for Warcries and the Knight some additional ones for Leadership, etc. And overall, might heroes will have access to fewer magic perks than magic heroes and vice versa. Not all perks have to be necessarily unique to a specific hero class. I think there will be no difference in skill availability with the exception of the magic skill disfavoured by the faction, that skill will not be available at all.
This is how I envision the skill system. And yeah, they're definitely not making it easy for themselves when it comes to balance. If they could pull it off, it could be amazing.

We don't really know that for sure, but it's probable. Just by looking at the Haven Might subclasses we can see that it is likely that there will be differences in the availability of some skills depending on the subclass and also likely that each skill that they do share (leadership, diplomacy, Light, etc.) will have different potential between the subclasses depending on perks. I have created a model for the likeliest implementation we might see in this thread and explained these things, but it's gone completely unnoticed

I have hopes for this series again. Randomized skill system and a real might and macic class hero system was just what the series desperatly needed. I haven't enjoyed the series since H4, but now my hopes are high.
If they just could get rid of this silly and vulgar Ubisoft excessive artstyle that has haunted the series from H5 I'd be even happier, but abit late for that now. That's for H8 I guess.
(At least H7 seems like a small step in the right direction compared to H5-6. At least the Haven units looks quite stylish, and just a tad bit too excessive. If the regulars where the upgrades, and the regulars made more modest looking, it would be fantastic. Their Might Heroes though makes my eyes bleed, and my heart bleeds with them).

If you can pass through the graphics, HV is very fun. Look out for Graphical Overall mod under H5 modding section, is better

Interesting. I'll have a look. Hopefully someone will mod more modest looking Haven heroes for H7 as well.
NB! Looked at the MOD. The same vulgar and excessive art, just clearer. I'd hope for a total change to more NWC-like modesty, style, good taste, matureness and classical fairy tale charm. So I'll pass.

Amen to that andy. Post H6 art looks cool but it lacks the fairytale charm of the old times.
