I can't say that visuals matter all too much in general, as in the quality of graphics (ie, photorealism, model poly count, etc.), but they count when it concerns artistic direction. Also, in a slow-paced game such as HOMM they do seem to be more important than the average game (important as in STYLE not in quality).
I'd play HOMM regardless of its looks if I liked the gameplay though. I frequently replay older games and would still play some newer ones with worse graphics.

Same here, but really, the main reason I don't know H5 as good as H3 is because of graphics.

Then how can you say "same here" when you did completely opposite? lol
Gameplay is the most important thing for me about some game... graphics, models, design etc. come second, but they are still quite important.
I play a ton of old games that have perfect gameplay and that are quite old and graphic is of course garbage for today's standards, but that is mostly because back then those graphics were really cool, and it is mostly because of the nostalgia than anything else. You don't just suddenly stop liking a game because of its graphics that are considered horrible now when you've liked it a lot back then.

RMZ, I never liked homm5 graphics. But I still could enjoy this game after TotE thanks to its very fun game mechanics. However, I still play more homm3, because I prefer to be dove into that universe. It doesn't mean I am closed minded or whatever, I only don't want a downgrade.
I shall repeat, to me graphics = 50% and gameplay = 50%.
Sorry for the confusion.

I don't have problem with models being reused if they are not direct copy from previous game.
If they add different animation, better texture and slightly change model I'm satisfied.
I have problem with elites looking exactly the same with downgraded textures. Entire post with elite and champion units look rushed and those units look unfinished. Textures are too simple like its preview. Level of detail is so low and it looks like bump map is done over default color without applying any texture.
Is it a preview?
If they add some coloring, better textures, and alter models so they don't look like so obvious copy from HVI I wouldn't have any problems with necro line-up.

Wellplay does have a point, the necropolis models showed on the screenshots look off compared to Academy or Haven.
Now, criticizing Ubi for recycling H6 models is fair, IMO.
What I find funny is Stevie's sudden change of attitude. Sixteen days ago he was a being full of optimism, utterly convinced of Ubilimbic changing the Townscreens (sooner or later). Now he's more depressed than The_Polyglot, not willing to give Ubilimbic any chance. And all because of the Necropolis reveal, one can only fear how he'd react to a similar Stronghold reveal *shudders*

Regarding the reuse of Stronghold units if I remember well Marzhin said that the orc campaign will focus on other tribes situated in different region of Ashan so it could be they have a more divers line up compared to H6. So that's a plus. Also I didn't have the patients to look through the posts (there are 416 pages) so take it with a pinch of skepticism.
P.S. I realize the salt and the displeasure of people regarding Necropolis line-up just though to make a reminder and not go full balistic over it.

I also expect more changes from Stronghold, although Goblins, Centaurs, Harpies, Cyclops and the like will most likely be part of it again (with different textures to fit the new theme, of course).
3-4 new creatures (models) and changing the Goblins weapon would be acceptable for me. Give me some Behemoths!

I trust Marzhin when he said they would have almost nothing in common with its H6 counterpart. Because he was honest with the re-use of Necropolis models.

That probably means that Stronghold will also reuse old Necropolis models as well.

Ha! that would have been snowing hilarious! imagine a heroes game with a stronghold using recycled units of necro, or a haven with recycled units of dungeon. LOL.

I think so too. I trust Marzhin on this.
I have no problems with reusing models per se, if it's done tastefully. Heroes 7's Haven is a good example of how it can work; the light theme present in Heroes 6 was heavily criticised, so by taking that away they improved on Haven quite a bit. In the case of Necropolis, the Liches, Vampires, and Lamasus were also almost universally disliked, but, instead of improving them like they did with Haven, they are nearly unchanged with only the colour scheme being different, which does not make them better at all. This, for me, is the main problem.
Anyway, Ubi-Nox said he would inform the developers of the situation. Let's hope we can get a statement this week.

Probably. If they had a half-decent base code to work with, we would have gotten more than one expansion for Heroes 6.

What?
List of differences between HVII and HVI is extensive. Saying those are same games because of few creatures is unfair.
