Yes, if that's what it takes to get Skeletal Liches back. Screw already screwed up lore if that makes it right.
Not like they can't invent a plausible explanation but I guess the negativity layer in front of your eyes is just that thick.

Wow, I didn't expect this. Ubisoft might restore my respect towards them, after all. I mean... changing lich and vampire is quite satisfactory, the other models are pretty ok (with Grim Reaper beign awesome!)

Haven: Tyris and Adelaide. Tyris 'cause she's cool and Adelaide cause i like ice ring and the design.
Inferno: giv me fiona. she looks cool and i always liked Cerberi.
Fortress: korbac needs to return. granted dragonflies probably won't so maybe not the best choice.
Sylvan: Alagar cause ice bolt is awesome. maybe Kyrre?
Dungeon: Darkstorm cause he's classic. i guess Dace too for the minotaurs.
Stronghold: Shiva all the way.
Necro: Tamika. black lady vampire death knight commander? yes please.

Heroes that should return, hm....
Piquedram is one of my favorites, for some reason, yet I don't think there is really a place for him in H7. He's an alchemist, so Academy is the most obvious choice for him.
Aislinn, as she looked like in H3, also worth to come back. Straker, also an option. As for a faction like Dungeon: Alamar, from H3.

I don't know if you've noticed, but they take their own lore very serious. And they have shown no sign whatsoever to be willing to change that, despite all the negative reactions they've gotten on it.

What could prevent them from taking their own lore so serious or what could be a plausible way to introduce skeletal liches, without disturbing the lore?

no miss universe level perfectly washed and maintained hair beyond today's standard: no Shiva. the h6 one was obviously an impostor

Didn't they say that Namtaru are almost extict by now? All the have to do is to tweak the lore just a bit to include that liches need to drink venom every couple of centuries to remain young. Problem. Solved.
