IMO they should only keep red and black, scrap the purple and green

That definitely works also. I would remove the glowing eyes, however, those were a serious malpractice from H6 that really needs to go.

I have similar concerns about the whole skill mechanics for quite some time. I also think that certain hero classes won’t be able to develop some skills to level 3 (Master). At least I hope that there won’t be banned skills for some classes for instance Haven hero and Dark magic (even though the school is forbidden in the Magic guild).
Also I’m really interested in how perk will be picked. I doubt that will be the H5 case where they share same pool with the skills. I mean when level up in H5 you can choose between a new skill (if possible), advance learned one or pick a perk. Maybe they will be “for free” in H7. When your hero level up will be able to spend a point for a new skill or advance learned one and in the same time you can pick a perk.
But still this system is very controversial because you have 30 points (up to level 30) to spend which makes 10 fully developed (Master) skills. And if we apply the mastery restrictions for some skills you’ll be able to cover pretty much all possible skills even though not fully mastered.
I hope that the devs will shed some light on the topic on the forthcoming event. I don’t like the graphics so the skill system is cornerstone (and the game mechanics as a whole) if I’ll play the game or not.
Aren't you forgetting abilities?

Dunno, that particular example actually looks pretty boss.
EDIT: The other way around on the other hand...
EDIT EDIT: These Necro heroes may look like vampires but you don't fool me, bug people from the planet Arachnia!
Quote: That's it. I'm out. I can't stand this pathetic little community any longer.
A little colour and a few extra spikes, and this is apparently a travesty of epic proportions - scrap the whole thing. Pathetic, petulant, pitiful.
I want nothing more to do with the lot of you.

Indeed, then helmet would be lighter aswell, as the one who is wearing it would no longer need to include the two AA batteries in it...
Most importantly tho, wearer would no longer be blind, as now instead of those red cristmass lights, helmet could have holes to look through instead A major improvement.
Regarding spikes on helmet. You will notice that most helmets, be it medieval, or motorcycle or construction helmets etc., are rounded and smooth on the top. Why do you think that is?
Why it's to glance off blows that would come from above (The exception was medieval crusader helmet, that had flat top. It was replaced eventualy, and to this day is a mystery as to why it was used that long of a time). A helmet with spikes like that, would actualy assist the attacker, to transfer full force with his mace or club on to the surface of the head. This results in neck or skull cracking or at least some head trauma. Spikes also have one "important" feature. They make helmet heavyer, and thus increase the chance of neck injuries when you fight and move head about quickly.
From other side of things, what would the pros of having spikes there be? Exactley, there are no pros. They are completly and utterly useless, and even endanger the wearer, making it safer to fight without that thing on ... which is not what helmet is about.

What do you mean? As I said in my previous post, I have a hunch that skills and perks will be separated when it comes to selection – level-up points will be spent only for skills and the perks (abilities) will be “for free”.
If you mean something else, please clarify.

want an example of good armor that retains the "female form" while not being absolutely ridiculous? Diana, League of Legends
this is more an example of good chest-plate design but the armour is overall pretty cool and practical while still retaining a heavy fantastical and female feel. League has bad examples as well, but this is certainly not one of them.

What (good) reason could there be to hand out abilities for free, what would in essence be double-picks, since it makes sense to have more than 3 abilities per skill.

You make it sound like Lizard Warrior hates Heroes of Might and Magic.
Which we both know is far from the truth.

And people who love Heroes of Might and Magic can only suffer when they see what this franchise has turned into. How many people are still waiting for Heroes IV? Check out the non-Ubi sections of the forums.
