Kayna said: The guy playing on that video really sucks. He shoots small shooter stacks already engaged in melee rather than the big ones free to shoot, he doesn't shoot the stack soon to be attacked by his melee to reduce the retaliation they take, shoots an enemy shooter that just played their turn rather than one that's about to, doesn't gang his 2 melee on the same unit for flanking bonus and instead decides to block the smallest, most insignificant shooting stack with his praetorians.
Can't people take hints that it was just a video to show players the gameplay? This does not even mean it is their actual Heroes experience.

And why does he or she need to play like a first player, when he or she is showing it to strategy players, not fps players.(First timers will feel good either seeing good or bad combat play, but old timers wouldn't be bored by it) Imo, they should be playing normally, I don't say to play like a pro, but like a normal person, not moving everywhere and hitting anything. The combat looks uninteresting if you play like that.

Well, you try explaining to viewers AND play the game. Besides, you have to show features and other stuff.
It is not like they can't make a new video and play better...

Hey guys, I was wondering, do you think the MMH7 themes are as great as the old ones? I really think the new ones are good, but they miss the feeling that the older ones gave, atleast that is what I think. Compare this to this. But this is just my opinion.

It's because the old music is I don't know, more folk-like (?) (fewer instruments, easier to memorize thus catchier) while the newer music is much more orchestral(much more complex in instruments and sound).
This is the new thing in soundtracks, make everything grand and epic, we can thank the movie makers for that. Btw the new Heroes 7 OST is pretty good next to todays soundtracks.

I'm not a pro player, but I played heroes games during chatting with others, and I could play normally, like not charging ahead, but waiting for the enemy to come to me and shoot them with the archers then when in range I go melee with my other units.
Btw I don't mind it, it's just funny that the creators play like total noobs in the vid.(and noob is not a derogatory in this case)

Haven Video
On H7 forum Ubi-Nox has said it is not finished yet (no commentary).
What do you all think?
What really bothers me and hits my eyes are the colours. The colours in the game are very wearisome and the grey impression is overbearing for me. Is it just the video or the game is really going to be that somber? I have never had a problem with colours in any game but it's very unpleasant to look at the screen in H7.
Well, the haven campaign sounds fun. The founding of Hammerfall, as a free city. Should be some denouncing of faiths and what not. And who doesnt want to play as Thomas, son of the "duck" of wolf.

just confirms what we already know, it was the same in the H3 HD twitch stream, Ubi's Team Erwin is populated with nothing but casuals who are far more interested in art and lore than actual gameplay lol

Yes I saw the H3 HD stream, It was exactly the same :/ It's unsettling, but when this happens I just want to think about MMX, which was great. (totally other concept, MM and Heroes, but hey, I'm trying to be positive lol)

Why are they putting story-department dudes to play the games on stream instead of y'know, the people who actually made the game and know how it works, aka programmers? I mean the story department totally lacks charisma (and imagination and they'd save a lot if they'd scrap them ), so I cannot imagine that programmers could possible be less likeable.

They do. Xavier Penin is the "Lead Game Designer", so he is probably quite involved into the game production.

So he's most likely responsible for skill system, battles etc.

Really hope they make better faction videos after this one. And what is with them not getting any champion units again? I will admit, I think the adventure map looks really great.
Was strange to see that Cavaliers can be recruited before guardians. I did not suspect that but it would be cool if guardians were the strongest elite.

Why is the catapult on screen during the battle that didn't take place against a castle? There's no reason that should even be there during regular battles.

And others find some interesting elements in it or actually like Ashan as whole. In the end how much the lore and story are liked depends on the consumers reaction to it.
Personally i play most of the games for the story, preferring campaigns and scenarios with some story to tell, to just go and defeat your three snowy neighbors.
Idea that a strategy game (especially a one with rpg elements) shouldn't have some lore is an absurd one. In most of the games there is a very actual lore behind the factions in the game, that lore determining what mechanics are used for the faction in question.
Maybe Ashanverse has a wonky balance between gameplay and lore. maybe, i see things being in place they should be and most people here blaming lore for things they don't like, seeing it as a scapegoat for everything.

I dunno about the lore but I've yet to care about an Ashan character (if you don't count Erwan).
I guess it's the focus on cinematics and voice acting that just pulls me out of the story. Line delivery can be a finicky affair.

I am not blaming the universe for everything I don't like; the skill wheel has nothing to do with lore for instance. Thing is the lore bleeds into everything nowadays from units to mechanics as such when I try to make a map out of Ashan all its awful(in my opinion)ideas follow. Now I did not like the old lore that much either, but it left less of an imprint on everything outside of its sphere of influence.
