Animals are duchy dependent in Haven so I imagine they would eat any meat the could get given how they are in civil war and the only supply of cows are in the bull duchy. Also there are no other farm animal named duchies.

Well... if they elves are Indian in nature, then yeah, they probably would to show respect to the animal and not let it become wasted. It's all part of the harmony. Instead of letting it rot they would ritually eat it in order to honor its sacrifice, much to how a hunter will use all parts of the animal he kills to do the same.
In this case instead of killing the animal by hunting, you get it to fight for you but still you get it killed one way or another.
Although I started this as a joke, I do not find it so strange as I think about it...
Yep it started as a joke, but it has caught my imagination too I know nothing about the lore and how the elves think so you might be correct after all. And how you put it in the previous post... it kinda makes sense
On a personal level im still very much against that kind of moral behavior and if it turns out to be true.. well then its just another reason to take the cane out of the cupboard and give the elves a damn good thrashing with my dungeon and troglodytes And im counting on you to help me in the quest to save the deers and does from those blood thirsty elves Whether you want to or not... its too late for you to back down now

I very much liked the dryads, pixies, hunters and especially dragons, but moon does and blade dancers did not impress me at all. I mean, really, blade dancers literally have a snowing DRESS. Not a kilt, a DRESS. How can they fight in it?

Not sure if you are joking, but either way that makes me smile pretty hard
All the cows in the kingdom are held at the bull duchy? And other animals are positioned in the same way? No wonder there is a civil war knocking on the door That sounds like the worst way to run an empire.
But yeah maybe people are not that picky about their food during times of war... They are just happy to have something to eat.
I dot know... i have never been in a medieval/fantasy war... thankfully i would not be any good with sword or an axe... maybe with a very long spear... :/
What would be your weapon of choice? And what would you recommend for me?

Yes, how on earth did ever samurais pull that of?

I'm pretty sure samurai didn't have a dress that was almost touching the ground

Eh, you do know that sun deer is *upgrade* from moon doe? Not certain who'd play without upgrades in mid game (and later), anyways.

What's wrong with the bambi? If it has a sort of magic aura attack, it might become a decent creature - at least a new look in Sylvan. The unicorn was always present there, but was it ever interesting as a unit?
I like the Pixies with their flamboyant colors. Definitely a plus. The dryads appear somewhat redundant. But the hunter ... yet another guy in parade uniform. Elves don't need camouflage for hunting? I'd even prefer the blade dancer, at least he might have a weird sense of fashion.

No objection. They have fought a lot from H1 on ... deserve some rest from battle?

Me too! They are not only classical mythological creatures but they are also classical Heroes units. Being a mount only isn't just enough for them.

Mmm how nice, we get two flying ghost-like thingies for core units... bohring! I knew it would turn out this way as far as the voting went (meaning I wouldn't like it anyhow), and whatever their design is, it's still boring as hell (plus Pixies were always some of my least favorite units in the franchise). And aren't they looking a bit OP for core units?
I'm pretty impressed that Hunters didn't start the "Oh noes, another LotR-ish Elves" discussion yet...
After I've seen the Green Dragon, I'm starting to think that the "popular" Does and Deers are the only good thing that happened to Sylvan in this entry...
