Well just because something is a new idea doesn't mean it's a good idea. Of course it didn't help that H4 town screens (with the possible exception of Nature town) looked like utter crap even when in their native terrain, but once you started moving them to a different terrain, it was downright horrible. The idea of having town screen accommodate to the terrain was a sympathetic one, but the only way you could actually make that work would be to redesign every single building to the new terrain, and obviously that's an unreasonable amount of work.

H2 townscreens crap? I completely disagree. While they don't match today's graphics standards in quality, from a design pov. they were awesome - I do agree H7 screens seem to be inspired by them, but they completely fail to capture the magic and functionality of the H2 versions.

They're definitely functional yes, but the same weird positioning, emptiness and screen usage usage issues (and on top of that awful building designs in my opinion)
Imo H5 nailed the perfect TS look since the buildings were perfectly integrated to the town, but the functionality part suffered. H3 had the best functionality/look ratio but some stuff still looked awkward (like the Pegasus Spring and Dendroid Forest). I'd place H7 and H4 ts on the same place and H2, 1 and 6 at the bottom.
Holy cow, that's pretty impressive. Talking about 3D fly-byes to H3 townscreens like someone mentioned on the last page.

Well, artists might also have spare time and do something as a fan project?
That screen fits perfectly into the H3 graphics code, might actually qualify as one of the best. I wish Ubi would have built their H3 remake on base of new artwork like that, instead of repainting RoE with higher res but lower quality.
That doesn't help with current H7 art. They have decided to follow a different style, which is acceptable. There's room for improvement, however ...
Yep, deer attacks look silly. The emerald dragon look terrible and the green dragon doesn't even spit fire or acid lol. The druid's eyes are quite noticeable and its abilities sound underpowered. The dyrad sounds useless without treant....

Quote:ENTANGLING ROOTS
The Ancient Treants have such great roots that they can burrow and surge anywhere on the battlefield, grabbing and entangling any target with tremendous grip.
Edit: Unless that "burrow and surge anywhere on the battlefield" simply means that the Treant can entangle a unit when in combat. The wording
PS: The unupgraded Dragon looks better than the upgrade lol...

MUCH better. Doesn't look like the concept art, which should be expected at this point i guess. Even the icon of the green dragon looks like it should be the upgrade.

I think it is why the treant could be a "shooter" although we still don't know if he is or not but not a teleporter
