that being said, the achievements of people in cultures with a non-white majority aren't exactly staggering, though I doubt that has anything to do with ethnicity
That's so XIX century, you know.

We are then going to ignore the birth of mathematics and astronomy...
It's not like they are a pillar of our society...
Anyway, I gave this more thought and I came up with this.
1. Vatican State
2. Spain
3. Babylon
4. Athens
5. France

Lol, I have so much fun when this happens and it happens quite often. We should spare a thread and name it "Best of Xerox & Zenofex." There is a Laurel & Hardy feeling about it, Xerox is Laurel, of course.

In my opinion 19th century is 1800-1899.
Year X tells how many years has passed assumed to start at 0.
100 years has passed at year 100, which is then the 1th century to pass, so 1th century would be 0-99.

Yes, that's not an opinion. All of us are referring to the 1800's when we say 19th century.

The West does not Westernize anybody, Westernization is the process of adapting to the progress that came along with industrialization and urbanization, which happened to occur for the first time in the West because of reasons I wont enumerate here. People usually start to "Westernize," so that the West does not colonize or control them, it starts as an act of defense, not ideal.

That's an upside down claim, the philosophy of individualism is the result of capitalism, not vice versa. The social conditions shape the mind more than the mind shape the social conditions.
