mvassilev said: but more importantly, something about the HD models seems off. They're definitely higher-resolution, but the style seems a bit off - it doesn't quite look faithful to what we saw in the original game.
it feels close enough to me. yes the necropolis is a bit brighter, the titan is ridiculous, in another hand the ghost dragon is noticeably better.
also, maybe there is a chance they actually made it easier to mod. (though, I guess they only worked on graphics) yes, lots of mods wouldn't be compatible, but if that could make projects easier to complete... look at hommV, it didn't took years to complete a project.

I have skipped almost the entire thread, so I am not sure about the validity of the complaints. However, I am very happy that Ubisoft devoted time and manpower to bring Heroes 3 into tablets. Who knows? Perhaps we can expect more in the future.

Sure thing, there is more in the pipeline. With a different price tag and ........ later.
I think it will be a success because of the mobile market and nostalgic casual players who stopped playing H3 years ago and can't tell the difference between RoE, AB and SoD let alone have ever heard of HD mod, HotA, VCMI or WoG/ERA and the improvements introduced by means of which.
Those people will find the AI challenging, won't recognize quirks/bugs/imbalances and won't miss the RMG.

Plus it will be a nice addition to pass your time on long journeys, say by train or airplane. I am definitely buying it hoping that this will reinforce more work.

As it is now, it seems like a lukewarm rehash to me. On long journeys I'll stick to reading a book.

Wasn't this already debunked? Not that I use FaceBook myself (I try to avoid it like the plague), but I heard that this was just a hoax, nothing more. Still, everyone who stops using FaceBook is one less person enslaved .
Quote: If they made a version so good as H4 (doesn't needs to be so good as H3) be sure I will spend money on it.
Any Heroes version is better than Heroes4, by definition .
But then again, Heroes4 is the version I enjoyed least of all games (despite the great story telling, which was among the best), so perhaps I am biased.

I'm looking at the picture on the front page of Heroes VII blog and at the picture which is on the first page of this thread. I can clearly see that UBI is announcing Heroes of Might and Magic III - Restoration of Erathia HD edition.
There is NOTHING that says this release is anything but rehash of original vanilla RoE Heroes III. There is nothing that says about bug fixes, balancing or any other changes or additions of any other features except pure RoE in its original form. Only thing that they have touched are textures and that is perfectly clear from said picture and text from Heroes VII blog.
It is obvious that they are not trying to deceive people into buying a product without letting them know what it actually is. Some of you had different expectations but you are not cheated by false advertising.
It is not fair to compare product with what you want it to be, especially when its not even advertised as such. Compare it to only HIIIRoe when it was released because that is only fair.

Looks pretty, but I'll be restless until they incorporate AB and SoD. Despite the imba, they're pretty awesome.

I do actually think this was meant to be a comparison of adventure map spirtes. So the laser titan would be for adventure map... At least i hope so, because otherwise they managed to make my favourite creature look goofy.
Honestly... this blue is simply horrible!

Well I'm glad that Ubisoft brought this game back to audience but well... I'm not actually sure if there are big sales for this though. I think the current version which you can get from GOG for example is good enough and also there is a HD mod and tons of other WOG mods for the game and maybe this new version isn't compatible to these so... I honestly would prefer to buy the Complete edition instead. But I hope they will get big sales though. It's good idea to share this game for the people who haven't experienced it yet.

Bias of having the #1 game of my childhood playable on a modern PC and the fun it can bring aside, I wonder if there'll be any post-release support for this, and more importantly, if there will be any balancing done. I mean, as fun as the game might be currently, it's fairly broken in quite a few balance aspects and it'd be great if things could be brought to a more unified level.
Regardless, I'm looking forward to that release!

It seems they used the same graphics for both combat and adventure map versions of the creatures. What is even worse is that some creatures are made as the adventure map version, which make it look different in battle because of the change in perspective. Just look at Gold and Bone Dragon. I don't know why Ubisoft would make a HD version of the smallest version of a creature, that doesn't make sense to me.

Hello all,
sorry for interrupting conversations but I just wanted to clarify something concerning last asset. Indeed, the picture isn't on full scale but this is due to the 1920*1080 format. We can assure you that the x3 is real and I will try to upload full size assets tomorrow on this forum
Best,
