Stevie said: But that's the point, you can't see their legs, and you can't know if they're fleshy or not, unlike the Mummy where you know for sure that they are fleshy. The less flesh I see, the better.
If you go by that criteria, choose Priest (even if according to you it suits Acolyte more). Btw, it's very close to H5 Lich.
Stevie said: which is that the Undead Sorcerer forsake his flesh willingly, while the Mummy uses bandages and rituals to maintain and conserve his own. So no matter how you look at it, the best potential for having as little flesh as possible, according to the descriptions, lies with the Undead Sorcerer.
Again, forsake to the point that he became a cadaver, not forsake it all, you ignore this important part. Mummy uses bandages because it's ancient - without them, it will just crumble. Sorcerers are "younger" then them. And, if you cling to this "willingly" part, becoming a Lich is a willingful choice (with rare exceptions) altogether. So, all of them have "forsaken flesh" willingly, it's just that the Mummy is so decayed that it needs bandages and rituals to simply be stable.
From my point of view, it's the Mummy who has the best potential to have as less flesh as possible. Simply because it's most rotten out of three.
Stevie said: "Sorcerer may gain a mask" - I do not agree with that, but you just insist in slipping that part through between other points which are more reasonable. If that happens, then it's a sham. I see the Undead Sorcerer without a mask, I voted him partly because of that. If his attire changes, like messing with his hat, or staff or book, then that's NOT what I've voted for, and I'm free of guilt.
Yes, you see him without the mask. Doesn't mean all others see him this way. Doesn't mean it's a shame as well. Truth be told, you (and all others as well) were warned that the final design may look different, and if you ask me, when voting people should have this little notice in head. Funny that I never told that "the voters will be guilty", yet you again and again mention that "you'll be free from guilt". Actually, tells quite something about your personality.
Stevie said: Then other things on the Vampires, like bigger claws and shorter hair, are reasonable. That means to ADJUST something, not to REMOVE/ADD something else. What would be unreasonable is for me to get a Blood Monster with no claws, no cape and no colar. If that happens it's not the voter who should be held responsible for voting it, but the devs who put one thing for voting and delivered something else.
And again you miss the difference between "tweaking within the concept" and "scraping the concept". The Blood Mosnter without claws won't be a Blood Monster anymore, but colar, for example, isn't the decisive trait of his design.

I cannot jump to that conclusion, and even if you were right, all the interesting rotting parts would be hid by his mask and heavy clothes. He is very spikey too, a design fitting well the world of Ashan in general.
Lore-wise, if you are interested by the possible prospect of a Void Necropolis in the future, the Undead Sorcerer has the most appealing description to me:
Undead Sorcerer description said: Having transcended the rules of Life and Death, this dark Wizard has forsaken flesh to the point of becoming a cadaver himself, in exchange of tremendous powers.
No mention of the Spider Goddess neither of the Spider-cult. The last part I bolded really seems to give Necropolis a probable interesting twist. Tremendous powers, they seem very evocative to me. After the horrible way Ubisoft and Limbic have handled the spider theme, and seeing how important their lore is to them, if I see an opening for things to get better in that direction, and eventually get something I would find more substantial, I want to take it.

yeah same here
best choices for a scary & dark necro town.
edit: i want to show some details, to point out the fact priest of the dead is most skeletal one. noticed the hollow torso? spines? and face of skeletal eye sockets and nose?
and another detail, i though people didnt wanted spider theme in lich, i thought people really wanted a master dark spellcaster... then please say what the fudge is this? heavy ornated big spider shaped staff carried by undead sorcerer and ancient mummy
so what now, you guys suddenly want illogical spider weapons on lich?

I'll stick with my vote though.

I think it is unlikely that the design itself will give us many changes in the lore... but I suppose it will be amusing for fans to ultimately see rotten, thin-skinned Uncle Fester with a crown on - the reactions will be priceless.

skeletal ribcage doesn't equal skeletal face.
The undead sorceror is said to be skeletal, yet his arms still seem to have flesh on them.
The undead priest actually looks to me like only half of his face is skeletal, with one eye looking like that of a skull and the other looking like a regular human eye.

Now remember: "as little flesh as possible". Mummy, which is covered with bandages, has the best potential ^_^ Joke aside, I have strong doubts for Sorcerer being skeletal while Mummy - more ancient version - bieng fleshy. Remember what Marzhin said about skeletal Liches (that it should be some Shantiri Liches to be skeletal).
And Sorcerer too is spiky.
Galaad said: Lore-wise, if you are interested by the possible prospect of a Void Necropolis in the future, the Undead Sorcerer has the most appealing description to me:
Lore-wise Void Necropolis has very little potential to come as a faction. Void is an international thing in Ashan. And, btw, in DoC Void belongs to Academy with Void Heroes in all factions (except Stronghold).

You know Ubisoft is taking babysteps (cf. Minotaur hero hmm). As I said, out of three descriptions, only one does not mention Asha and the spider horror that follows, so this is my natural choice. And, I am pretty sure he is the perfect candidate, to at least, look skeletal.
If Ashan is here to stay, and changing anything requires the most complex explanations in order to keep consistency, Undead Sorcerer is a no-brainer to me.

Void faction should be a faction of its own, rather than take over Necropolis. Someone has created a nice lineup for a Void faction already, and there are lots of Void creatures in Heroes Online, so it's not a problem.

Conflux-like faction, not Conflux clone ^_^
I mean, the Void has Void-tainted Treants, Void-tainted Humans, Void-tainted Demons even. Recolor 6 units + add Void Wraith and here we're, "new" Void faction.
Btw, Galaad. The H7 Necropolis is the Spider Cult at the height of it's glory. Sorcerer not mentioning Asha means nothing ^_^

I didn't...and it was me who started the avalanche by bringing it up and mentioning you by name as the cause of my change of heart.
You responded, I responded, you responded etc.
Oh well, it's clear you haven't learned from it ....
Anyway, I want to share here what I also wrote on the blog:
"I don't see any immediate Spider-references in the Priest of Death. His lore mentions Asha only, but as such that does not imply spiders. There are more beings in Ashan that 'worship' her, like the Blind Brothers, Silent Sisters etc. She has many aspects, Death is one of them, which is the focus of the Priests."
Also, the Ancient Mummy is said to have been around since the early days of the Cult, but Sligneris perfectly noted that this goes for Sandro too. Okay, he did not follow the cult and went his own way (saying that the arrival of the Mother Namtaru ruined his plans). So dismissing the Mummy based on its lore is like dismissing Sandro, to some extent.

As much as people claim the undead sorcerer is skeletal, I don't know if we looked at the description enough. Ahem:
Official Blog said: Having transcended the rules of Life and Death, this dark Wizard has forsaken flesh to the point of becoming a cadaver himself, in exchange of tremendous powers.
Emphasis mine. Um, a cadaver is a dead guy. Typically with all his body parts largely intact. Sounds pretty fleshy to me. If they wanted a skeletal one, they'd have said "skeleton" and not "cadaver", at least to me. But I suppose this is just semantics. (Of course, lich, or lych or various other older spellings, all just mean corpse, so, whatever.)
And, just for the record, I like all the lichs as presented.
My only problem is that they nearly all still have the overdone art style failings as the original H6 lich. That is to say, spiky, lots of dangly bits, still pretty fleshy. Now, personally, I campaigned to say that the lich in H6 was supposed to be a mummy, and thus, I feel that to stay consistent, I should vote for the mummy design.
People were arguing that some aspects could be lost/gained. If this is the case, then a vote such as this would largely be pointless: "You voted! We will honor your selected vote, but we are going to change lots of things about your selection that you didn't vote for. Thank you for your time!" Wait, this actually sounds like some real life politics, so maybe it's not that far off.
So, taking this without the idea that post-campaign promises won't be upheld (a pipe dream, I know) and going off the pure art work and descriptions, I would still vote for the mummy. It's on the ground, and its art won't have to overlap with someone within its own faction (We already have a skeleton. We don't have a ghoul/zombie anymore, along with no mummy anyways. The best idea is to have two skeletons? I'm not buying it, I like diversity) though it may overlap with someone outside of its faction. I guess it's closest would be the Abbot, but, then again, so would the Priest, so, again, I don't mind this. And, to me, it's better to look like a dark reflection of an enemy unit, than to look like a weaker unit in the same faction, just with a different outfit and weapon. Not to say I wouldn't like a floating mummy (though I think it dumb to be floating, yet not fly, and instead classed as a walker. H6 liches are too afraid of heights and can't be more than 4 feet away from the ground) or a skeletal one, of either body cavity or face (as the Priest and Sorcerer seem to be, respectively) All of them embody a powerful long "lived" necromancer using the dark arts to stay "alive" longer, and have great magical prowess. So, they are all liches to me.

Unfortunately for you, I do too.
Guess what you linked there, a vanilla Necromancer. In Reincarnation it looks like this:
Guess what I'm linking you here, the Disciples 3 Lich:
And one more thing, Disciples units evolve with experience, Heroes units don't. So you essentially captured an Initiate mid-process of becoming an Archlich, going from flesh to no flesh at all. Not an accurate analogy.
