Ok, new here, or better said first time i visit this part of the forum. What is exactly this thread about? I got impression its what people wanted heroes 7/8 factions and monster to be, but from replays I see people talking about a project. Can someone explain this little more, is this a start up of some new game or what?

Hello and welcome.
This is indeed a "project" of sorts. Basicly it is Minastir and me trying to come up with lineups and unit abilities for Factions that will appeal to most heroes fans. Unfortunately we don't have the expertise, knowledge, or time to make it into a game but we provide these ideas so that the developers or someone who can make it into a game, sometime might do it. Mainly, we do it for fan and for seeing the reaction of our fellow forumers and listen to their critical opinion and suggestion as to how we can further make the best faction lineups.
It is called a project because it takes a lot of time to find the appropriate units, putting them into tiers, giving them backstories and info and then finding pics that can resemble somehow what we have in mind. Just to imagine, we are working on this if i recall correctly since June or July 2015 and we are still working on it.
Finaly, this thread came to be because of the dissatisfaction from players with heroes VI and VII, so we tried to provide some alternative "going back to the roots" and make it as true as possible to that idea. Also, both Minastir and I keep watching the forums and see what people are suggesting about diversification, interesting abilities, unit roles, faction uniqueness etc and we try to incorporate them into our builds.

You must be a big fan of Wolverine, Tyrannosaurusy Rex in Jurrassic Park and Hydra's.
Otherwise that post isn't aggressive at all, just towards one poster and people that think the same.

Yea its mind blowing he is ok with insulting people that dont like the same things he does so openly and direct. I am guessing he is a local troll here, as I see he was on probation few times or in other ways penalized.
Just surprised the moderators are ok with this type of horrible behaviour and is not yet perma banned if he is doing this constantly

Definitely sounds like an insult of other peoples' intelligence.
As for those creatures:
Cipactli - part crocodile, part fish, part toad, mouths on every joint.
Coatl - (from D&D) a feather serpent with wings.
Camazotz - Bat-like.
Kongamato - reportedly pterosaur-like.
Popobawa - Shapeshifter, often taking human or bat forms.
Ahuizotl - Dog like, with spiked fur and hands, including one on the end of its tail.
Emela-Ntouka - Brownish or greyish, rhinoceros-like with a single horn and a thick tail.
Mbielu-Mbielu(-Mbielu) - possibly similar to Kentrosaurus, though supposedly more aquatic, with flanks covered with water-weed.
Nagual - A shapeshifter, usually human but capable of taking other forms (f.e. jaguar, puma, bird, mule, dog, coyote).
So a good range, though the names in some cases might be an issue unless you modified them a bit.
Also, there is no 'right answer' to the whole old-vs-new debate, as each person's desires are individual to him-/her-self. What can be usefully said however is that you're likely to get far more votes for a mixed lineup than for either extreme.

Not to people's intelligence, as many intelligent snobs also have very bad taste.
It is an attack on humanities single-minded taste in everything that is popular.
While the popular things are SO much more boring than the less known, I just can't understand humans, It feels like i'm an alien.

Guys, please, this is not the place to attack or express disatisfaction for one another. Please remain to the topic at hand and if anything, comment on the post and not about people. Thank you.
Raksasha, i can say that Dungeon will have some original units and the only Greek one there is the Minotaur and Manticore.
Also, Inferno has quite the new demons and not only from Judeo-Christian mythology.
I am sure you will not like Sylvan very much though, although we did try to put some new things there.
I am also not sure how you will like Academy, but it is one faction that cannot change all that much.
And that is pretty much what i can reveal right now. The rest are still up to discussion. But you can certainly expect a total of 10 factions from us for sure and 2 more maybe.

Hm, Sylvan and Academy seem to me to be two of the factions that can change the most without losing their essence. The hard one is Haven.

A) Benevolent Tree-Huggers
B) Violent Eco-Terrorists
C) Vicious Social-Darwinists
D) Mysterious and Dangerous Fair-Folk
E) Other

Have we really seen a whole lot of those in Heroes? Near as I can tell, it has consisted of varying degrees of A... that is, Tree-Huggers of debatable benevolence.
Honestly, I'd love to see D. Before I lost most of my interest with Heroes, my own "what if" universe took Sylvan in that direction.

IMO you can't remove the elves and still call it Sylvan, because the whole idea of the faction was 'elves + forest creatures'.

From H5 only, and they are not even there in H6. Besides, Sylvan comes from latin word Silva, which means nothing else than "forest".
That being said I do think Elven Archer should be there and am fairly positive it will, alongside Unicorn. The rest is pretty open IMO

Oh, hey, guess when they started calling it 'Sylvan'. As for the literal meaning of the word, 'Inferno' means a big fire, 'Necropolis' means a monument built to honour a dead person, 'Academy' means a place of learning, etc.

Yes, when they started with ASHAN, deciding out of the blue elves should dominate the town and be everywhere = elf with swords, elf with bow, druid-elf, and all heroes should be elves because screw differences.
As for Necropolis... A necropolis was a "city of dead" (in Greek nekros, dead, the corpse, and polis, the city). They indicate so "a vast underground or open air graveyard of monumental appearance" (definition in French Dictionary Robert), for instance the necropolis which is under Alexandria in Egypt: corpses are deposited into houses similar to the living beings ones on the ground. It also indicates a vast graveyard of a big city, as the necropolis of Père-Lachaise in Paris.
Necromants (archaic form) or necromancers, are magicians who conjure the spirits of the dead to get from them all kinds of revelations, notably predictive ones. Greek manteia (where from the word mantique) means divination. As the famous surgeon Ambroise Paré (1510-1590) said in Monsters and prodigies: "and there are several kinds of magicians: some conjure the devils and question the dead, they are called necromancers."
