Ytil watches the wolf go and walks up to the pair.
"My thanks for calling off Tala. Well met, I am Ytil and I have come to take responsibility for this dryad.
She is right but I would like to avoid nutritional overachievement if I could help it.
But something has been bothering me.. How has a dryad travelled all this distance? They normally stay close to their tree, unless..
What's in that wooden box?"

- So I guess this is the rest of the group?- Witold asked Randall. Before departing, Witold put on his chainmail. It was a rather plain looking piece, except for some brassed links on the end of the sleeves and the bottom of the chainmail shirt, appearing as the armor piece was brass trimmed. He carried his bardiche in one of his hands, not having a holster for it of any sorts. For some time Witold toyed of the idea of attaching a length of rope and carry the weapon slung over his shoulder, but ultimately decided against it.

Randall nods "But two of them I do not recognize." He spurs his horse, as does Jade, who looks concerned.
Sapphires eyes darken for a moment.. then she laughs "You think I mean the mage?" she walks over and taps on Ytil's boots, then points to Ytil's chest. "No need to lecture me on the circle of life, the person I could care less about.. I meant trash.. as in the things he wore that won't be absorbed so easily."

The dryad turns to Ytil with a glint in her eye. "Elen sila lumenn omentilmo, Ytil. Amin naa Elinia.
Amin n'rangwa peredhil. Ilya tuula seorsa, ilya entula seorsa.", she then carefully retrieves the wooden box from the horse and cradles it in her arms like a mother holding her young.
"Uma, feamin naa kead sinome. Istar oblete ta."

A surprising turn of events. Ytil studies the mischievously deceptive face for a moment. Elusive intent aside, the reply can only be in kind.
"Saesa omentien lle Elinia, Aa' menle nauva calen ar' ta hwesta e' ale'quenle. Amin hiraetha. Manke naa lle autien?"
Ytil feels sad about her fate and realizes that there may be a way to restore part of nature's balance, while at the same time keeping an eye on the dryad. This ought to be interesting.

Ytil is not particularly sentimental but there is something about those pleading eyes. This will undoubtedly end up in trouble but the choice is already made.

Ytil turns to Red-Leaves, as Elinia called her. This will probably stick..

A woman that looks exactly like Sapphire rides up. "Is everything alright sister?" Well, there is a small difference.. besides the wild state of Sapphires hair.. one has green eyes, one has blue. ((Two guesses which has which *laughs*))
"Yes, but we have to make a small detour on our way to the lights.. or did Randall choose the tower?" Suddenly she sees Withold, and slips behind Jade, eyes down, Ytil and Elinia both see.. fear.

Witold wasn't surprised when Jade's twin had covered behind her sister.
This was always the case with some people, as Witold always was the tallest and the brawnest of the group. Even in his home village, there was no man taller or stronger than him.
His height and body build intimidated some people sometimes.

Brugd was keeping quiet during the short journey, carefully watching his new companions. They now consisted of four humans and elf and a dryad. If any more were to pop up suddenly, he might have to start taking notes.
"And would you also welcome my staff, Ytil the elf?"

Ytil regards the half-orc with a mix of interest and curiosity. His words did not seem dishonest but an orc-spawn in robes and one showing interest in an elf at that, was an uncommon occurence.

The journey is uneventful, the area devoid of most life. There are the usual insects, but nothing really to worry about. As you travel, Jade explains Sapphire's actions. "It is not your size Witold, one of our ex companions tried to take advantage of her peaceful nature. He decided no was not an acceptable answer. I explained the situation to him, his body now food for the animals, but she still is frightened around males. Though.. I think she has taken a shine to our new mage friend." Sapphire elbows her, and her cheeks turn red. She still keeps a good distance from Witold and the Half-Orc, however.
The group takes a couple of days, Jade sharing her tent with Witold, the druid being very quiet, but you arrive at the area where the unexplained lights are coming from. It looks like a giant wheel on the ground, etched with runes and glyphs. It rests on a ley nexus, where magic gathers and then is normally dispersed. A red mist seems to be sucked into the wheel, and it seems the wheel is designed to keep the normal magic contained, while drawing in something else..

Feeling the life around in the vegetation around the area Elinia uses her power to entangle the mage in place, (hopefully) before he manages to unsettle the device.
"Why is it ALWAYS the first idea with you mages to meddle with things you don't understand!", she has planted her feet and palms firmly on the ground to channel her will to the surrounding plantlife.
"Nothing good EVER comes of it!"

The plantlife here.. there is something WRONG with it. It is twisted and unrecognizable to the Dryad. This.. wheel.. is somehow to blame, and the plants are hungry.. hungry for blood. The vines grasping brugd grow thorny, and begin to squeeze..trying to draw blood from him. The unnatural feeling grows closer, and the plants seem to move inward. The druid states "Get ready for trouble, the plants.. they are alive.. and they want our blood."
Jade hurriedly frees Brugd from the thorns, and goes back to back with her sister. Randall readies his mace. "We can't take on a whole forest.. what do we do?' Neither Jade or Sapphire seem to have an answer.. it is miles to the road.. running is also not an option.

Ytil wary of the supernatural energies emanating from the wheel had made it a point to keep some distance, inspecting the nearby surroundings and trying to listen for anything out of place. Normally the first course of action would be to flee or at least reach a more defendable position but there were none to be found. Ytil sighs for what is about to happen and pulls out a torch.
"Brugd, you got some fire?"
