You travel a couple more days.. it is eerily quiet, no travelers on the road or such. Just as you round a bend, two quarrels come from the tree line. One hitting the white witch, the other the healer. Both are knocked off their horses, and have bolts protruding from their shoulders. Seven figures rush from the treeline, all wearing white cloaks. ((Don't fret it is not the Herald and his band)). They seem to have been waiting on you...

Brugd grins hungrily as he dismounts. He has been these past few days after having to run away from battle not once, but twice. The only thing that somehow helped him regain his sanity was Sapphire's cooking.
He roared and charged towards the enemy, enlarging himself in the process, and as soon as he was in striking distances the half-orc sweeped his now immense quarterstaff across the enemy line.

Ytil not quite trained in mounted archery, dismounts and sprints towards the closest obstacle. Not having had the time to warn the others of more men potentially lurking out of sight, the elf draws a longbow and aims at the enemy crossbowmen. That mountain of a man Witold should be able to keep them engaged for a while.
"Elinia, please tell me you can unleash a wasp swarm on them!"

Having heard the twang of the crossbow Elinia was already ducking to cover behind the nearest tree when the witch fell. She places her hand against the trunk, feeling the vegetation around her. Extending her reach she compels the roots under the road to rise up and tangle with the attackers.
Hearing Ytil's shout she answers him:
"That should keep them tied down. You can play with them later!" While drawing her own bow hoping to stop anyone she spots endangering her traveling companions she continues:
"I wish I could compel wasps though, would make keeping the caterpillars out of my leaves so much easier!"

Ytil easily hits the entangled crossbowman, the arrow protruding from his head. The cloak on that one goes grey, but because of the entangle the person does not fall.
Brugd's staff sweeps against three of the attackers, and they take damage. He notices that their wounds start to repair almost immediately, however.
Witold cleaves through one attacker, and that one's cloak goes grey as well.
Timble is able to strike another, but also notices that the damage seems to be repairing itself.
The remaining crossbowman is struggling against Elinia's entangle.
Two skirt around the group, heading toward the two injured figures on the ground. They will reach the fallen people on the next round.
The remaining target Witold, who's large size makes him a rather easy target to hit. Two hit him, and he is now bleeding.
Jade intercepts one of the two headed toward the priest and witch, managing to strike from behind. Unfortunately, she misses her mark, and curses.
One of the others is tripped up by an entangle from Sapphire.
Randall and the witch take their action to stand, but that is all they can do for now.

Elinia releases her arrow at the enemy closest to the witch and shouts to Ytil:
"Naa maara! Tanya o' caele pilin' ildesiel!"

Ytil releases the bowstring and the immobilized crossbowman meets his end. The next shot is aimed to support Jade.

Elinia's arrows hit almost at the exact same time as Jade, finishing the foe easily.
Witold finishes off one of the others attacking him.
One steps back, draws a symbol on his own chest and says "FOR THE HIGH PRIEST!" and plunges his own weapon toward his own chest. Before it can strike however, he is jumped from behind by a grey wolf, who sets about biting and clawing at the prone man, a feral gleam in it's eye.
Randall pulls out a mace, clubbing at the man held by the entangle, and the witch pulls out a Kris and helps him, felling the man.
((If I add right that means ... two still standing?))
Both, seeing their fellows felled, must not be too zealous.. for they drop their weapons and raise their hands. "This is not worth one hundred gold!"

Brugd, his eyes still red from rage, roars and smashes on of them on the head with his staff. He turns to the other one, hefting his weapon.
"No. It isn't."

None of the NPC's will stop Brugd from finishing the last of them, however...
"What are you waiting for?" Asks the white witch, "go ahead.. prove the High Priest right. Prove we are no better then them, finish him. Become another High Priest, where the ends justify the means."
Jade scoffs "Like they would hesitate if they had the upper hand."
The witch nods "You're right. I thought we were opposed to him though. Maybe he is right.. we are nothing better then animals."

Brugd grabs the last enemy by the shirt and pulls him so close their faces nearly touch.

Ytil smiles at Elinia when hearing the witch's words.
"Ro dona er."
Brugd can tell it was about him but his questioning stare is only met with innocent whistling. Then the playful expression turns into a serious one.
"You heard our friend, who put you up to this?"

"The true knights of Tyr, but not against you..." he points toward Randall. "He has a price on his head. Every bounty hunter in the lands will be after him. He and his band are a thorn in the High Priests side.. the High Priest thinks being rid of him will break up this band. Don't ask me how my boss knew where you would be, I don't know."
