Poll Question:
Which one's the best Tarantino movie?
What the title says... Is it Inglorious Basterds like he claims or will nothing ever surpass Pulp Fiction? I even put Jackie Brown in here for people who are obsessed with making exotic choices...

Really liked Most of them I've seen (kill bill 2 being the weak one) but I think Django comes out on top in the end. Basterds is pretty good too.

i don't know, i still count "true romance" as a tarantino movie. but certainly "pulp fiction" is the best. i didn't like "inglorious basterds" at all; that and the ending of "death proof" pissed me off, since they were specifically designed to cater to the audience's whiny sensibilities regarding the subject matter(nazis, i wish they would all die; woman-killer, i wish he'd just die).

Yeah, although he's just the writer and not the director, True Romance smells Tarantino all over, that scene between Dennis Hopper and Christopher Walken is like a news letter of what's coming next. Technically, it's not a Tarantino movie though. I also didn't include segments like Death Proof or Four Rooms since I dont think anybody would vote for them and they'd just be filler options.
Btw, I also think Pulp Fiction is way above IB, but I wouldn't accuse the latter of just catering whiny sensibilites, you see, in the scene where Hitler goes overjoyed with watching the German sniper shoot everybody, Tarantino is actually presenting an irony and poking at us: There is a Hitler in all of you because that's how YOU enjoy watching Nazis die.

"four rooms", forgot about that one. another good movie.
i haven't watched "django", and i won't. after i heard what it was about, i was like, come on, man. my sister's boyfriend(who's black) tried to talk me into watching it by selling the story, and i just shook my head. the catering tarantino does makes him look like a cuck, and not the respectable and stylish filmmaker he is. he doesn't need people to like him THAT badly. ffs.

I liked Django, better than Inglorious Basterds in many aspects. Christoph Waltz is amazing in that movie. I understand why you think it might turn out lame but it doesnt, give it a go.

the premise pretty much ruins it for me from the getgo. just like batman vs superman, and the suicide squad(ok, leto had a huge hand in that, but the story itself is utter nonsense as well).

Never really understood what's so good about Pulp Fiction. Sure, it's a very decent movie but nothing of legendary quality.

I'm torn between pulp fiction and reservoir dogs. Pulp fiction because it was sewn together marvelously and reservoir dogs because it had you on edge during most of it. I'm gonna go with reservoir dogs.

Now now, the Godfather is legendary and anyone who refuses that will be swimming with the fishes.
As Geny said, what's great about Pulp Fiction is how everything is masterfully sewn together and also the incredible chemistry of the characters and the dialogue. It is the B-movie genre transformed into artistic cinema. It looks easy to make but since then, everyone who tried to imitate it failed miserably.

Good example, Guy Ritchie movies are generally good and I wouldn't be surprised if he said Pulp Fiction was among his influences. But I think, overall, they have a different tone, the humor is underlined much stronger. In the final analysis, Snatch is a comedy, Pulp Fiction is not.

I disagree - I think that Pulp Fiction is utterly hilarious. It's no EASY crime comedy, but a BLACK comedy. There are so many scenes that are just absolutely over-the-top-hilarious - THAT (and the masterfully crafted narrative) makes the movie the masterpiece it is.

Yes, it has many many moments of comedy, "who's Zed" "Zed's dead baby, Zed's dead" was one of the moments I laughed out hardest in my life. That's why I emphasized "in the final anaysis." Think of the ending for instance, it even makes you think about the meaning of all, you can say the film's "philosophy of life" is hinting that it's absurd even though we try to make the best of it and if life is absurd, there will always be an element of comedy at its core, but the film passes this on as a serious contemplation of life.
Snatch, on the other hand is full of goofy gangsters, amateur criminals messing things up and finding themselves in direct "sitcom" moments, it is a comedy at its core, when the guy enters the room and finds Brick Top's men preparing to chop up bodies, it is directly funny, when Bruce Willis enters the room and stops the rape, it is not. The key moments in Pulp Fiction are not funny, they can even be thought of as moments of existential, moral decisions, crossroads of identity. Snatch has nothing to do with all that, it's a typical protagonist trying to get out of a messed up ball of a wool problems kind of comedy.

There are two movies that I love more than anything, they are Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill. Both had a major impact on me, I can still feel the exhilaration of those movies. From a technical perspective Inglorious Basterds is without a doubt one of his best, but I can't feel personally so strongly about it for some reason. That I cannot explain tbh. It is a near perfect movie still.
But I will go with the classic Pulp Fiction, it is simply too good.

I know what you want to say, and you can make a point for that - but I prefer a different view: if the most serious actions and events are grotesquly hilarious and absurd, then ALL LIFE is so - including the "serious contemplation". It's of the type "there are no absolute statements". The serious contemplation gets out of the window, and I do think that the "Bonnie Situation" which is definitely comedy, even if it's somewhat gross and bloody, it's the scene that features Tarantino himself as the guy who evidently plays it in a comedy kind of way.
It's a grotesque in its core. There isn't anything serious in it.
And I even disagree with Bruce Willis ending the rape isn't funny. It is. Very much so. It's funny in the same way in Jurassic Park the TRex eats the bad guy hiding on the toilet. By the time Bruce enters you are in snickering mode because of the way he choses his weapon and ends up with a katana.

Perhaps I liked "Pulp Fiction" most of all (I have not saw this "Django .." and "Jackie Brown", and "The Hateful Eight" yet, yeah, and this "... Dogs" I have not saw too), despite I don't like blood on the TV, and drugs, and criminals (mafia including), etc "Pulp Fiction" was ok.
I like those moment when the boxer is placed between some choices - this is truly hardcore situation was, he can run away, or he can help and try to bring some justice even regardless of the whole frigging world against.
And the second - those nigga' with a ridiculous hair. He have a lot of easy solutions, and he tried so hard, almost blower up his mind, to choice some difficult way, that he think is true.
Amazing absurd and fantasy - but I liked it.
Well And I like Umma Thurman' stuff  - she is cool, especially in the "Kill Bill".
