Well ... imagine drone spiders, in that quantity, and the amount of work they could do to fix such damage. It's quite insane actually - and would also be fun to watch from a distance . A bit like robotic ants.

Fate of HoMM
Hi. I hope in following text there are not so many mistakes.
The E3 exhibition is approaching. Ubisoft will present their gaming innovations. Among the announcements there are no games for our beloved universe, which is not surprising. The HoMM series is in stagnation, and there are no new decent works on the horizon. Such hopelessness is the worst thing that can happen to a game. Fanbase is still strong, but it is melting every year for natural reasons, and the growth of new fans goes to +0 per week. Perhaps it is time for the very "huge community of Heroes" to remind about themselves and the franchise?
The plan is simple. We will raise as many fans as possible and visit Ubi streams with a call to determine the fate of the Heroes (politely, without fanaticism). Will franchise be given to the mercy of the Chinese mobile dragon? Maybe HoMM will go into the hands of Microsoft? Maybe Ubi has their own plans?
E3 will perform as a rehearsal before the August Gamescom. It is at Gamescom the main calculation of this action. But at E3 we will gain experience for a more successful campaign in the future.
Naturally, you should not expect instant results, but I want to remind you that in 2020 HoMM series will be 25 years old. And by this date, Ubi will be able to prepare their answer, remembering that the franchise is still loved and waited.
Who thinks about this?

I don't think Ubisoft has forgotten about the franchise, otherwise they wouldn't be milking it with low budget cash grabs. To me it seems that Ubisoft doesn't know what to do with the franchise.
And looking back, I guess I can't blame them? They had ambitious (and expensive) plans for Heroes 6, which crashed and burnt. They had low-budget plans for the series (MMX, H7) which couldn't convince either.
I find it hard to believe that Ubisoft will make Heroes 8 game. The old fanbase is shrinking and previous titles couldn't attract many new fans. Being a niche pc-only title with big expectations doesn't help either.
If we want to get a _proper_ Heroes game it will be a long shot where the brand of "Might and Magic" is revitalized. And I do think that the brand "Might and Magic" still has potential.
Correct me if I'm wrong but Ubisoft does not have a strong fantasy license. And I'd love to see a game similar to a "Dark Messiah 2". Strong single player games like Dishonored (or other single player games published by Zenimax) are still a huge market. And with Far Cry, Ubisoft experience in this area as well.
I wouldn't hold my breath, and I'd prefer no Heroes game over a bad one. Maybe it would also do good if they did something similar to King's Bounty: A small-scale game with a focus on strong mechanics and a good story. Heck, such a game could even make use of the tablet market. And I wouldn't even mind if it was 2D.
If several entries of such a "King's Bounty" like game were released they could even band together the assets and make a proper Heroes 8" out of it. But those are all long shots.
So, I don't think the situation is entirely grim, but it seems that things are left to chance at this point. And either way, I don't see Ubisoft coming up with "Heroes 8" out of the blue.

Its what I think, we should get way closer to Katauri's King's Bounty... they have already begun with HOMM6, MMX and especially Heroes Online !

I see many misunderstood the idea of the action. We are not going to beg Ubi to release new game. But we want them to decide the fate of Heroes. If HoMM is dead, then let it be clear. But if there is a chance for the projects like Dark Messiah 2 under wing of another studio, we also have right to know.

Actually, we don't. The brand is Ubisoft's private property and it's completely up to the powers that be whether there will be a new heroes game or not. Circumstances change and an answer right now is probably already outdated next year.

That's true - our desires have no legal value. But who needs franchise without fanbase? They can ignore this action, then it will tell us a lot. Or they will tell us something more, than another: "not in foreseeable future" in 2020.
Anyway, if we will not try, we will not know.

They will ignore the questions, like they did when several of us here went to one of Yves Guillemot's AMA with M&M-related questions that got no answer. They have nothing to present to us. Of course, you won't hear it from their mouths, but that's just certain.
Also, with regards to the franchise - yes, it does have potential, but it's not in its legacy. Past few years showed that people won't blindly buy a game just for its name (Heroes7). It has to be good, inspiring, novel, emanating quality. The sort of game you spend years pouring your mind, heart and soul so that it creates and satisfies a new fanbase. Lately, that seems to be an afterthought and the primary directive is to milk the market as uncaring as possible and come what may. The downfall is inevitable.
The only way I see the franchise coming out of its current stump is by reinventing itself, being very ambitious and succeeding in its goals. I don't think a Heroes game will do, if it were me I'd rather go with an AAA RPG, Grand Strategy or something like the Auto Chess arena game. TBS seems too difficult and starts at a disadvantage (not that popular nowadays).

Yea, I can parade Civilization series or any other successful franchise for a similar parallel, but I don't think that's all that meaningful. M&M does not share that kind of popularity, it doesn't have a cemented fanbase (just the diehards), it has limited resources, the brand name does no longer have a pull, it has a very bad track record for the last decade, it's (mis)managed by Ubisoft, and just to be completely frank - it seems to be ****ing dead. News, announcements, community interaction? I can't remember the last time we had any of that. Even the small hope that we have for a revival comes all the way from China...
Just a reality check.

But still - HoMM is the only fantasy franchise for Ubi. So, may be they will try something like Dark Messiah 2
We don't have much time before E3, so i want to ask you directly: Who WILL JOIN this action (I gathered a few people from other forums)?
