Ok, i promised you a WC dream team and here it is.
(Note: this is just the best players in respectively positions in my opinion, im not trying to put up a team that would work great with eachother here)
Oliver Kahn (GK, Germany)
comment: To me he has been the best player in whole World Cup. Kahn has made some unbelieveable saves to keep Germany alive. Yes, he made a mistake in last match but to remove him from team because of a thing like that would be brainless when he has lined up world class performances in almost every game.
Roberto Carlos (LD, Brazil)
comment: His runs up and down that left flank can get every team to miss in marking. He is a great attacking option and can cross the ball aswell as he can cut in and go for a finish. And i guess his OK at hitting free kicks too...
Rio Ferdinand (CD, England)
comment: Had an excellent partnership with Sol Campbell. He was fast, dominated in the air and very rarely got wrong in position. The rumour goes that Man Utd wants to buy him for £35m+ now, and somehow it does makes sense. This defender can lock up any defence it seems.
Johan Mjällby (CD, Sweden)
comment: Was together with Andreas Jakobsson outstanding in the swedish defence. At times it seemed like his football heart was bigger than the football itself. Put up some outstanding performances against some of the best teams in the world.
Cafú (RD, Brazil)
comment: Historical for his 3rd WC final in a row, and he deserved it aswell. Not as good as Roberto Carlos is in the offense but much better in the defence. He combined some of his runs up the down the right with some crucial interception in front of his own goal.
Ronaldinho (LW, Brazil)
comment: I want Ronaldinho as a winger, mainly because he has a great vision for the game combined with good dribble skils and good crosses. Can get pass his opponent which is very important in todays football when much is about covering up space and marking.
Tugay (DMC, Turkey)
comment: While everyone was talking about how fast they were in attack with fast midfielders like Bastürk and Emre and Hasan Sas up front all i saw was Tugay covering up in an outstanding way for these players. He was Turkeys field marshall out there, alot of credit should go to him aswell.
Michael Ballack (AMC, Germany)
comment: Was appointed to be the "brain" behind Germanys offence and did an awesome job. His ability to share to ball to the right people at the right time were really impressing. Had four assists and three goals from an attacking midfielder position. That is world class.
Berndt Schneider (RW, Germany)
comment: Lethal set up freekicks that were one of Germanys most effective attacking options. This was one of the players that impressed me the most at WC, from that i hardly knew who he were to someone that was a great offensive power on the German midfield.
Ronaldo (FW, Brazil)
comment: Top scorer with 8 goals, made his revench from ´98. He really showed what an awesome player he can be when no injuries. Most of the things he tried at WC was a success, except that damn hair cut then. There should be a law against looking like that...
Rivaldo (FW, Brazil)
comment: One of the reasons i go with Rivaldo here is basically lack of competition. Vieri was OK, scored some goals but except that? Klose was superb in beginning, then he suddenly stoped scoring. Rivaldo scored his share of goals and showed some real talent in many areas... unfortunately diving isnt one of them.
Subs:
Rüstü (GK, Turkey) Played superb in most of his games, a really interesting keeper for future.
Lucio (CD, Brazil) Became better the longer WC was running, at the end he was pure world class
Gravesen (DMC, Denmark) A guy that gives 100% all the time out there, the defination of the word "team player"
Hasan Sas (AMC, Turkey) Showed of his brilliant technique
a couple of times, needs to learn to share to ball with other players some times tho
El Hadji Diouf (FW, Senegal) Had his real breakthrough in WC, no goals but some stunning dribbles and performances.
So there, im still waiting for some of yours tho...

I forget even to think about Duff but anyway I don't think he would make mine 'Dream Team'...
Just saw on TV that Oliver Kahn was selected as a best player by the journalists. Second was Ronaldo, third was Korean captain Myung Bo Hong.
...and I could only wish that Ferdinand is on his way to Man Utd but don't think so. Bowyer wants out, O'Leary is already out plus Sunderland got a permission to speak with Keane...and now to sell Ferdinand, Leeds fans would linch Ridsdale. But who knows, their board stayed alive when they sold Cantona...

Yes, lots of people over here in japan (especially children) are starting to have beckhams haircut. No offense to beckham's fans, but is his haircut really that good? Do you think if he cut his hair like ronaldo, people will still follow? i think so, though...

There are some people here with Ronaldo´s cut(mostly children 7-12 years). That´s ridiculous!
They think that is beautiful to be ugly?(sounds nonsense, but it is a famous phrase in Brazil).
Even Ronaldo´s wife didn´t like his cut, but she said that it gave luck, so no problem.

I read somewhere that Ronaldo got himself that haircut just to tick his wife a bit, innocent fun as I see it...
As for Beckham's haircut, I like it. On him and on a reporter I mentioned above it looked OK...
And I don't know how I forget Ziege...

hmmm, how the hell did this end up in a hair discussion lol. Anyways, it would be nice to see some of your dream teams or opinions on players that you thought had their big break through in WC. El Hadji Diouf for example...
