A comment on the video ref. discussion:
Video ref'ing might or might not be a good idea, it was experimented with in France a couple of years back.
My point is that as long as there's a will to cheat, humans will find ways to do just that. So what needs to be changed is the attitude, not the rules. I realize that this is somewhat utopic, but still. If people were raised learning moral and ethic values, honor and pride, but also humility and tolerance (OK, I'm starting to sound like a hippie or something, I know, but try to put down your prejudices for a second and follow me on this one), football would be a "clean" game.
As it is now, the capitalistic way of thinking and life dominates the football world, and as I said before, the most important thing is: Win (at any cost)
It makes me kinda sad, really, when your idols and the players you have looked up to all your life turns out to be cheaters and phonies (OK, you know, fake guys, not people making phone calls all the time). No wonder they breed new generations of cheaters.
And coaches has to take part of the blame too. When they tell players like Owen (who I honestly didn't see diving before WC98) to take dives, they are corrupting the players and the game.
Play honestly

9½ hours to go to kick off between Sweden - Argentina. Now that game will be a killer if any. My prediction: 1-1, scorers are henrik Larsson and Hernan Crespo.

LOL, it looks like Denmark will be next world champions.
Offcourse just by some analysts. When these two met in a group stage, winner would be champion in that competition.
Just look at 1992, 1998 or 2000, I think in 1984 as well...
I certainly hope not, not becouse I hate Denmark but 'cause
I have another favorite...
Did you see today that 'lunatic' Nieto? Worst massacre of footbal I've witnesed...

Yes, it's possible !

Champs: France

hmmm..is it possible to be anymore wrong than i was? lol...
My guess: Champ - France
Golden boot - Henry
Well, at least Trezeguet have two shots "very close" to goals.......
Well, half an hour before the death matches between Argentina & Sweden and England vs Nigeria. Hmmm, I will stick to my original guess.
Poor Argentina who seems forget to use the wings in match against England now got to face an enemy difficult to defeat (but can be defeated ). England has a much better situation, Nigeria has given up WC, Kanu even won't show up in this match. Well, we'll see who can survive in this death group.

Sweden RUELS
WE OWN ENGLAND; WE OWN NIGERIA; WE OWN ARGENTINA...WE OWN THE [censored] GROUP OF DEATH; WE OWN THE WORLD CUP; HECK, WE EVEN OWN YOU AND YOUR FAMILY
And who said football could be boring, for now i can´t think of something else than football and im so damn happy about it
Even if Argentina had 65-35 in ball possesion first half they didnt create any clear cut chances. Sorin had a great great oppurtunity but failed to direct his header.
In second half the game was more open, sure Argentina still had the more of the ball but still failed to create something really dangerous. And then we have the wonder free kick by Anders Svensson...absolutely glorious
After that Argentina still had more of the possesion but still couldnt make any dangerous situations of it. We had a couple of oppurtunitys to make it 2-0 aswell, Andreas Andersson did hit the below side of the crossbar... And Gonzalez should have been sent off for his tackle when Larsson had a free run on goal. And then Argentina get a correct penalty, only problem is that Crespo is almost ahead of the pen. taker when he hits the ball...no wonder he gets the rebound first...But everyone makes mistakes and this is no time for being upset...wanna know why? because we RUELS

Great work!
Who would have believed it?
I was sure either Sweden or England wouldn't get into next round.
Makes rest of the matches more interesting.

Ya, good play, Sweden. They sure deserve a place from their performance especially their good defense. Poor Argentina, if they play better in match vs England, they already make it.
Today we will play our last match vs Turkey. Look from a more practical and objective view, I think we have very slim chance to win or draw (but I won't amend my prediction, ). In match vs Costa Rica, China can only keep reasonable standard for ~60 min, vs Brazil, we can only play for ~ 45 min. In the coming match, I think the players do not care about win or lose but maybe care more about scoring and everyone wants to be the first one to make the WC goal and so......... maybe we will lose 0:3 or better 1:3 due to more space for Turkey.

Damn, sometimes I hope I'm not that accurate in my guess Though Turkey deserves the win, we deserve a goal. The damn post !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
France out, Argentina out......... now I suddenly wish Germany, Italy, Brazil all out next round and England crashed and slaughtered by Denmark. Let's have a new face for the champion. Maybe Spain is a good choice........
