I saw the post above about the Undead Arctic Sharpshooter. How do we create our own creatures? Is that a normal part of Map creation. I would love to create and modify creatures.

Arctic Sharshooter is WoG creature. Undead is because of abilities this unit get from Emerald Towers.

Newbie Questions
Hi,
I have played the game for years, but am a newbie to this board, and some of the more sophisticated forms of strategy. A couple of questions, What is WoG? And where can I get a detailed description of the Force Field strategy I saw posted?
Thanks!

You can google "heroes 3 wog" to find out what wog is. Basically it's a fan expansion that adds a script language into the game, that allows you to do a lot.
You need to be more specific about force field strategy. It usually refers to hiding a unit that shoots/prevents retaliation behind a force field(advanced or expert earth magic) so units can't get it. There is a bunch of variations on it depending on the situation.

Be aggressive in exploring and conquering the map, attack AI players before they can develop (unless it's a map where they start with a huge army), get expert Earth Magic (for mass slow/town portal) and Logistics as quickly as you can, use stacks of 1 level 1 creature for blocking and absorbing retaliations in battle, prioritize buying shooters and a single strong melee stack, get multiple heroes to explore map faster/move armies around.
Those are my generic tips, anything beyond that you'll have to tell what specific map you're struggling with.

Remember that in campaigns your heroes transfer. Sometimes just the named ones, sometimes just 4/8 best.
For first type, visit all the bonuses(build all towns so they have bonuses), learn all the spells(all the mage guilds), etc. with main heroes. Learn earth/air magic and when you get DD and TP the missions will be easy.
For second type use magic heroes and maybe 1 might hero, visit all bonuses with all heroes, get all the spells with all heroes, get them all to limit of experience. If one hero gets to limit stop fighting with it, unless it is necessary, and develop the rest.
In that way at start of the mission you will have a bunch of overpowered heroes with godlike spells and stats, and opponent will be crushed.

My best option is getting good spellcaster and hero with adv. wisdom and scholar. Best ones are Warlocks, Witches and Wizards. If you get magic hero with Earth Magic and Alamar with Expert Scholar it easy to teach main hero nice stuff like Res, Meteor Shower, Chain Lighting etc.
I always go for Andra/Elleshar/Ayden because they have Intelligence boost and get crazy ammont of mana when they level up.

Are the tactics more or less the same with Heroes Chronicles chapters?
I'm going to try first chapter on hardest difficulty while I wait for Heroes 3 here to redownload (gog bought game)

Chronicles are less harder than AB and SOD. Warlods can be painful, because you will not get Wisdom and Earth Magic until Mission 6.
I recommend 2 heroes out of 3 from this pool: Gurnission, Dessa, Gundula. Tarnum is same as Crag Hack.

Yeah, even on Easy (Easiest) a few campaign maps give me difficulties with the computer AI of the enemies… I forget the map names, unfortunately...
Anyhow, not campaign scenarios I used to know someone who somehow figured out how to setup the castle Rampart rather fast, like be completed all buildings in less than a game week or two without cheats or anything…
What castle is best castle to ally with the Conflux castle? As I do play Hot Seat occasionally...

Are you capable of winning vs AI on 160 or 200% on random maps?
If not, watch people play. Twitch is a great place for that, Huanito has a good tutorial series.
There is a lot of stuff people consider basic that is not at all intuitive. So it's really not suggestions for one map, it's more of a general way of playing.

For Criminal King, you should have 2 lvl6 heroes with all powerups from Barbarian King. Second, if you play on 200% you need to rush for gold mine and blue Tower in top left corner.

Oh man Black Sheep in Hack and Slash is really stupidly hard on impossible. Any tips here?
I cant seem to get a big army so that I cant advance in the map. And AI is too fast and with several big armies and hammers me. I played it on hard and it was a nightmare.

Hello.
Old H3 player returned.
Once I played a downloaded map was name was "Lost Continent II".
Coalition of towns on the surface vs coalition coming out from the underground. Montezuma with Town Portal and Lucifer leader of the surface towns. The map of the underground was Mexico-US-Canada. Very well done!
Can anyone remember this map? Can anyone point me a place where I can download it again? Please!
Thank you
