About pixelartist QP's.
I do not think there have been too many. Or too little. Just right. (Goldilocks complex - I'm in therapy for it ).
It's the same as a QP being handed out in Tosser's Tavern or the n00b tourney threads.
While it might not impact the whole of Tavern, it does impact on the regular posters of that thread - especially IYY's. 2 or 3 posts later the guild announces a new competition where the skills needed are walked through in IYY's tutorial.
Do you think he knocked in up in two minutes? I certainly don't.
Do you think he put a lot of personal time and effort into it to better the pixelartists thread? I certainly do.
One one hand people like to be given QP's. On the other they like to whine when they see other people get QP's.
Why?
Do they want QP's themself?
If so, stop trying to undermine other people's efforts but learn from them!
Maybe you're not a talented pixelartist like IYY.
Maybe you're good at storytelling, go post in the Glade, or if it's a funny story - post it here.
Maybe you have a great imagination - go think up some cool HOMM5 ideas and post in the Altar.
Point I'm trying to make is that if a post deserves a QP, it should get it.
And that's the Real Deal.

I've admitted like a 100 times that i SUCK at pixelarts, and i made my remark before he got a qp(or at the least before i noticed that he got it)
Don't you think A LOT of posts that people has used a lot of time on goes unrewarded?
It's not about me getting no QP, if it was of that calibur i might have begun sucking heavily up to the mods, and i don't think that IYY made the post to get a QP either, so don't pin that one on me.
I'm not good at much, not good at story telling, not good at pixelarting, and i'm not that artistic either.. but i like to participate, and i'll gladly give my take on the matter, either if it is needed or not.
Personally i think that IYY is very good at pixelarts, so it DEFINETLY isn't that.
I just think that QP's in Tavern are going the wrong way, and that might be one of the reasons that Tavern becomes more and more like the Volcanic Wastelands for every day that sucumbs(Which means, i agree with the Dingo on this one) Which i find a shame, since i like the tavern, and i like writing in it.

got no real input except i think its wrong to mention tossers tavern here as i think it got 5 QP's in 1600 posts or something.
If you are to mention that QP's can be awarded even to a smaller group i dont concider an average of 0,3% to be a good example.
Especially when many many more posts in that thread deserves QP's.
EDIT:
oh and i almost forgot.. whats the deal really with this friggin BIGscreenTV!?!?!?!?!?

Plaus this is a VW issue, not a Tavern one.
If people are thinking that Tavern isn't such a fun place to post in anymore then it kinda disappoints me.
Why can't they take the initiative to try and make a fun thread? If it flops it flops, but if they try then maybe something good will come.
And hey! How many pages of threads has Tavern got? Some of them real quality! If you're stuck for an idea, go gold-digging, you could revive a good thread and have it thriving again.
If people think that VW is the place to be these days then I'm sad  If all our members want to do is SPAM all day long then there's no hope for Tavern.

Actually I think that the mods move threads that have the potential for Tavern are moved to Wastelands before they are given a legitimate chance. If a few of these threads were cleaned rather than shipped off, we might have a Tavern that wasn't so damn boring.
Edit: I revived a few threads that I thought were funny. Cat Takes A Bath and Oldtimer Takes a Bath, are exactly the kind of threads we need. They were just fun threads. And most of the posts were all in like within a few hours.

Hey RSF, you were a mod here right? Help me out.. I can't remember what the CoC said about creating a whole bunch of threads in a forum in a short time..
Rats! I knew it said something somewhere...
I understand that you're trying to help, but your threads have basically been with the idea "let's spam!"
You know that's not what we want, and really not a solution. I'd much prefer to see you hit us with one great thread, then spam us with 50 that are generally all the same thing.

No you are missing the point. You spam, except it has to be funny, which makes it good enough for Tavern. If it's not funny, then you get your boring ass beat, which is funny. So if the thread is funny, then it belongs in Tavern, because funny posts aren't spam.
Alright on a more serious note. I honestly think that there's a small difference between how Wastelands and Tavern threads, should be treated. Wasteland threads you try to be funny, but post no matter what. Tavern you post if you think it's funny.
And btw I made one thread in Tavern. The rest I made in Wastelands.

and dont gimme no "if you dont like it, try to improve it" speach now. I have tried that by making a thread of my own that could and would have worked out great if it wasnt for first the girl in question went AWOL. and then when she got back there were no interest.
Ive also try to keep tossers tavern alive and i do my occational tossing here.
But the conversations and material as a whole now is just plain boring.
so here are the options
1) we ackowledge the problem and try to fix it together.
2) we pretend there is no problem and keep going
3) you dont think/wanna see there is a problem here and this is just my opinion.
Either way.. let me know if you agree with me on 1 here.
Now after making this post i realise the place to put it might should have been the feedback thread, on other hand i doubt many read it anymore as it people think of it as boring so to gain attention maybe its better put here anyways
So there you go, thoughts?

Now as for making public the contents of the considerate IM that she sent me, I am humbly apologetic. My intent is not to intrude upon Pandora's privacy. In fact I feel and greatly hope that other Heroes Community moderators learn from her logic, philosophy, and great sense of dignity.
Pandora, I simply want to thankyou for your hard work and hope you understand my reasons for posting the IM in public. I hope other moderators(both current and future) follow the example you have so diligently set. I know moderators don't receive Qp's; but in truth, I don't care. I would like to give you a Qp; not for any single action, but the whole of your body of work as the best moderator I think Heroes Community has ever had. Thankyou

I'm not bothered by you posting this Consis, and thank you for the compliments. I wrote it because it really hadn't occured to me before that you might think I hadn't given you QP because of the personal differences we have had - and I wanted to clarify that with you.
I'm just glad that you're okay with my reasoning.

In response to what Sir Stiven said I have to agree that the tavern has slowed down a fair bit lately.
I don't agree with the gloom and doom thinking though, I have seen quite a few newer members make excellent contributions - and I have seen quite a few great discussions pop up.
People have been trying to make a difference, and if you're not seeing it - then you're not looking.
The main problem I see (you can stop reading now Stefan, 'cuz it's not what you want to hear) is that people have an attitude that "oh this is boring, someone should fix it" . Well unless that "someone" is you - you just can't make it happen. It is almost amusing to me, to see people complain about other people's posting and point fingers all over the place - when they themsleves are no better.
A fine example is the Tosser's Tavern. how many people have dropped in with "this place is spammy" , "look at the spam" etc etc - if you want to do something about spam - just stop it! Simple.
If people are happy with the tavern as it is - then great! The goal here should be that the members are happy If you're not - then remember that change begins with yourself.
If any of you feel that there is anything we moderators can do to encourage/ support a positive change - please let us know! Asmodean and I are always around and very willing to listen - we want to help and if you guys think we're dropping the ball - let us know. Do we need more QP? Do we need to post more encouragement to members?
