Leg gain in HoMM2-HoMM3: hydra
Dunno about the HoMM1-HoMM2 leg loss though... Thought it could be the ghost, but then again, they didn't have any legs to lose. Or did they?

Okay, I have one. In the switch from HOMM3 to HOMM4, which creatures were abused to the point (I'm talking how they looked) they looked less powerful than they should have been. Not that they were ever really powerful in the other games to begin with.

From blue to gold?
I'm not sure,I think Minotaurs!
They were blue in HoMM and Minotaur kings are golden in HoMM2.
