One thing I don't understand is why complain about a given QP in public (although complaining about QPs sounds kinda wrong as well - what do you have to lose if some member gets a QP?)
You could simply HCM the Moderator that gave the QP. After all, the moderator gave the QP to that member, and you disagree with that decision, so it's quite logical that this discussion should be left to HCMs, especially because you'd also possibly 'hurt' the member who got the QP otherwise.
The penalties are another case since they're 'harmful' and you probably want to help the one who got the penalty by defending him/her. But complaining about the QPs is simply the opposite of helping, don't you think? And question is, do you really think that's 'normal', or do you really want to be like that? 
Sorry in advance if this post wasn't helpful at all...
btw, why has this discussion started here? Is it about a QP awarded in the Other Side? I mean, why here and now? I'm confused.

actually i dissagree, mvs. i mean it was a little blunt. but you can't expect pandora to act 100% objective to everyone,at all conditions.
She is somewhat humane, and therefor does have limitied paitences, and it was more like wrong time,wrong place thing for the death.
the death was a little blunt as well. but alas,i think it is better if you guys forget what happend,and give me a qp for my prettyness.

Unacceptable, especially for a mod. If it was a member, I would recommend a penalty.

when a member tells a someone to shut up he gets the chill pill,but a mod gets a quality? and Unacceptable.. we are people here mvs,i don't think you have to reign that hard... she got pissed,it happens. as for semi lightheaded joke..well he did say he was sorry,best not intervene in such things.
And if your going to use "she needs to be an example" theory well,we are all just humans.

Pan was trying to resolve something, such jokes only make things worse in this timing. It's like it toh where you are trying to calm someone down and someone posts a sarcastic reply that starts him again. Do I understand why he did it? Sure and in other circumstances I might have laughed with him too. Does he make my job harder when I'm trying to patch things up? Yes.

Actually Mvass, I didn't see it as a lighthearted remark because in different threads in other subforums I have seen the way William and thedeath communicate - and fairly recently I saw William ask theDeath to leave him alone. So in this case after I finally felt like William got the gist of what I was trying to say and it was all over, theDeath's comments seemed more like they were meant to get him all riled again...
If I were really so mad at him, I would have sent a HCM to speak to him directly over it. I never really imagined that anyone would take my recommendation that someone sit on their hands as a serious moderator style post. I'll have to remember to make better use of the   , but I guess my emoticon skills are sub-par before sunrise here.
In any case I'll let Mightymage know that you feel I'm owed a penalty, I'm sure he'll be happy to get me later.
@Asheera - this is regarding a few posts recently that have received QP's and members complained. It's nothing new, just something a few of us had been talking about for a bit.
@Anti - quit begging!
@Xar - Happy new Year's to you too I hope you find everything you're looking for in 2009

As I just told Pan, I've read the last 2 pages of this thread right now and will now sleep some hours and post a reply tomorrow, so chances I have calmed down a bit are big enough to not break the CoC too often in my post

If we don't give out QPs for being a consistently contributive poster, then we don't give out penalties for being a consistently destructive one.

As long as you follow the COC which I did not read you should be able to speak your mind.
You can not control what happens.
If a Mod thinks a person deserves a QP, then they should get it.
We have a right to question it of course.
Cant we all get along, it's the holidays LOL.
Some members get a QP alot easier then others.

After that last outburst, I don't foresee more on the horizon though
