I don't like Necroplis. It takes me about five minutes to find the Tavern.

The one town I really dislike, is rampart.

Oh god, its so damn boring to start with the tower, the gremlins suck, they die too damn fast even though they are pretty strong when they are numerous, and the gargoyles doesnt do much damage and i dont think their good defense(for a lvl 2) actually makes a difference cause they(along with all other) dies too goddamn fast, the golems are slow, the mages dies fast, the genies does much damage and all but they die fast anyway, the nagas really kicks ass when they are upgraded, the Giants are so damn good(but im a little uncomfortable with the size, i mean, whats so giant about it, but i must say that its a little hard to do a giant on one tile, why didnt they use the second i wonder? But the designers did the best they could so who am i to criticize). The only way that the tower is good is when their armies are numerous, the heroes know one hell, uva lot magic, and their creaturs are fully upgraded. Dont criticize me now, im just saying my opinion(and a pretty long one i must say)

I personally don't like rampart, the highlight of the kingdom is the grand elves, dragons are un-buffable, and manage to hit allies more often than enemies I still don't get how that calculates, sometimes he only hits one guy, sometimes his attack reaches across, and sometimes it seems to go at some off angle.

All these things are explained in the Library here. Just take a look and read through some threads.

One good example would be this thread.

I'm still working through the tactics sticky, its a lot of random tips and information. Too much information to just skim through or I wouldn't remember any of it.

Actually, Tower is my favorite. In my opinion, the Master Gremlins are very good level 1 creatures. They are archers with a very huge amount of number from the beginning (Taverns have about 40+ Gremlins all the time). It's easy to defeat a lot of other creatures because they are already dead before they even reach you. Especially with slow it's as easy as the a.b.c. After a while they become useless (die too fast), but you can easily replace them with creatures of other towns.
I must admit Gargoyle are pretty useless. But Golems are very strong. They have partial magic resistence and they win all the close 1on1 battles from other level 3 creatures. Haste them and the problem is solved =)
Arch magis are not really strong, but as they are archers, they are not totally useless.
Master Genies do a lot of damage, they are able to cast spells and they are pretty fast. Compared to other level 5 creatures they are not that bad (most level 5 creatures are pretty weak imo).
I won't spend too many times on Naga Queens. They are just the best level 6 creature in my opinion. Strong and no counterstrike.
Titans are the only level 7 creatures who are also archers. They have a lot of HP and their attack is not bad either. The only negative thing about Titans is their speed.

Now, Tower has a Mage Guild Level 5 (even two level 5 spells) and an Artifact Merchandise. Being able to view the whole map as a result of the Grail is a huge advantage over other towns too.

In short, I'd say Tower is really really good =)

There is one other disadvantage that Titans have. Their cost. Although that is really only a negative on maps with average-poor levels of resources, I guess.

On my list of towns, Castle is the bottomfeeder.
For me, Castle hasnt got enough 'fantasy'. I prefer to play with the monsters instead of the humans. My favorite (see avatar) is Stronghold. As said in the very beginning of this topic, Battlemages and Barbarians don't stand up in magic or tactics. And thats just why i like them.

There's always someone who wants a faction without super natural creatures. If they don't add it people will whine. -.-

I don't like castle because the are powerful, popular and has too little super natural stuff. I don't like tower because they seem to be the most powerful faction and they even seem to be more popular than Castle.

I like Stronghold becauset they are mid powerful and not popular and I like their painted desert theam. I like Fortress to a degree too. I like Dungeon too, but it gets alittle too easy if you get armageddon spell.

Fortress seem weak to me, only a level 2 shooter who is pretty weak. Also I don't like the looks of Conflux at all. Inferno are kinda weakish in combat overall but they used to be my favorite, I loved Magogs fireballs.

i must say its inferno for me to. i hate the magogs, hate demons, the sultans seem to go down fast when focused an although the devils are cool there are others lvl7 better ( ever hydras imo). Tower would be next i believe because they are very expensive.
