I find this whole issue moot. Quality points do not grant you any privledges and can therefore be ignored. It's peculiar how uninteresting threads such as this one turn out to be longest.

Nobody has said anything about the actual topic for 2 pages. I would delette the whole thing, but unfortunatley I started it as a poll, and you can't edit a poll once it's started, even to delete it. So I ask the moderators to delete this thread and move anything worth saving to "Does Anybody Care About the Red Stars?", posted by LadyL:ly.

Actually...
If you read this thread and "Last reply to censorship" from TOH board and "Going psycho" thread you notice that they have more issues about qualityposts than many others before. I think we could still talk about this whole system rationally but I feel that somebody else have to do it and not me.
However this thread should be closed as we have really run out of steam.
Where is LadyLily BTW? We could need some more girl power to this forum...

Heh heh, serves me right for mentioning a rash and warm fuzzy in two consecutive posts.
For the record, though, the fungal condition is due to a social disease I picked up in Antarctica from a very short nun. At least she looked like a nun. Shame about that beak of hers, though... The rash is completely unrelated.

Thats where your wrong red stars allow you swear all you want in a post, why ive not sweared at all (i think) on this site and im still closer to be kicked out than those that have posted offensive messages.

You are wrong about that, Arachnid. Th moderators don't care about swearing, as long as you replace all swear words with asterisks. And you were almost kicked off? Was that on the TOH forum? I've never seen you do anything questionable on the other fora.

Sorry to interfere but...
Coldfyrious did you read my first post in "going psycho" in it's original form?
It was very offensive. Still I have one more quality point than Arachnid so basically he will fly from this board sooner than I am if we start insulting each other...
I think that is what he meant...
So basically these "quality points" give some more "freedom" to post crap...If you don't care about them. What comes to Arachnid I have seen many posts of his that are really funny but you can't really take them as insult...Like that Jerry Springer one...But I have noticed that even joking can go too far and some people are doing this. Just dancing in the line and insulting others. Maybe even I have done that.
This is really kinda pity to see. Even from those posters that we have used to write quality posts.
I have tried to talk this issue in example "last reply to censorship thread" and in also this one but it seems that if I even mention redstars or quality points some people say that I'm only after those stars. I have lost two just recently and I can say that if I didn't care them before I care them even less now.
Sorry to say but maybe mods don't have enought time to read posts and judge are some offensive or not or is this system really flawed one?
Maybe it's better I leave further comments to others or I will have to listen this whole thing about the guy who is asslicker all time I'm here...

Quality points haven't mean anything but I have been honored to get them. I believe I earned one from "raize towns" thread and that one is enough for me. I feel I could have maybe got quality point from some other posts than from them that I actually got them. It is mods choice how to give them and that's why I don't want to comment them further.
In general quality posts haven't really affected my posting. I have tried to find new ways to post but it has nothing to do with my quality. My job is only make posts that others can read and maybe I get some problems solved maybe the thread can move along then or otherwise but do I care if I get quality point. Not sure of that. If I believe I have really earned.
I'm not feeling really different when I have now only one quality point or three quality posts and two penalties...and don't have those three quality ones.
It's everybodys own choice what to think about them. Some like, some don't as long as you don't think it's some kind of sign of overall quality of posting.
Malkia you have really many good posts and great ones too and I always enjoy reading your messages. I don't know do you value my opinion (or other posters) so much or do you prefer quality point more?...
It's your choice.

Red Stars?
I would like to donate 1 (one) of my Red Stars to Sha_Men and 1 (one) to Shae_trielle. I have 2 (two) and because of my routinely low word count I could never hope to get another. Also, since I am not overly insulting to anyone or controversial to an extreme, I will probably never lose one.
As a result, I probably dont need them and cant really use them. These 2 (two) posters could make far better use of them than I ever could!
I know they dont need them or want them but at least they are using them!!
Moderator, please make the necessary adjustments.

As I said somewhere, I like Red wine and Dutch beer and if, sometimes, I have a little too much of either, I get a little Philosophical/Sarcastic/Satirical (pick one). In any case I was just having a little fun
Although it does show to some extent my feelings about the Red Star issue, I dont really want to be kicked out because of no Red Stars. But if I can stay with no Red Stars you guys are welcome to them!

I think what Craig is trying to say is that he prefers to remain anonymous!
The red star system will still have it's fair share of troubles over the coming months, we're now seeing randomly (apparently) applied penalties to posts that definitely do not deserve them. And I think the moderators are showing a certain lack of initiative in enforcing their own rules. People are still using swear words and profanity without retribution. And subject matter should also be considered when handing out a penalty. I think penalties should be applied to those who start threads that have absolutely no Community merit (i.e. a waste of time) at all. And also to those who don't take the time to check previous pages for threads that have already been done.
So far we've just seen penalties applied to deliberate flaming of people. I'd like to know does the reverse of the 'Top 2%' thing also apply to penalties? Should the moderators increase the ratio to 'Worst 5%' of posts? What would happen then?
I guess they can't be too harsh about the penalty system though, because if they were, some posters would be in an uproar about it. I guess time will tell.

I think gettng rid of quality points would be a big outrage. Many boards/forums have something that is unique to that forum. The unique thing to heroes community is the quality points. I have never seen anything like quailty points at any of the boards/forums I have been to. To take away the quality points would make the heroes community a very different place. if there were no quality points the Hydra's posts would be know were near as long as they are. i'm sure the Hydra puts a lot of effort into his posts to get rewarded. (I know i refer to the Hydra alot but he is just too good) At other boards/forums i have been to there is a different feel. People don't really take up their time to write very lengthy posts, because they know that there will be no reward. I still haven't recieved a QP but i'm only new, but i'm sue in time i will adjust to this lengthy post system. So in conclusion, if quality points were taken away there would be an empty spot on the left side of our posts and this board simply wouln't be as good without them.
