Your task is to mate in 3.
Surely you must have wondered why the cylinder aspect plays no part in your 'solution' (where I assume you meant to write 2.Bd6 Kd8) above?
Or why none of the hints that we gave you applied?
Or why someone would compose something this ugly and trivial?
Have you wondered why did I say that I assumed it is a 3 move puzzle?
I didn't read any hints related to it (except for the post where csarmi posted 2 boards to help us - very good job there!) because I want to solve it myself.
And since you seem to be so interested - right now I am wondering: what exactly is your problem?

Kf3, Qf7, Bb4 - Kb8
Mate in 4 moves.
Btw, csarmi - I think you need to edit it to avoid the confusion.

This one is still unsolved, too:

R3. Mate in 7 (The Jolly Bard)

Seven moves, but really not so complicated, so everyone can have a go.

Qe6+ - Kh8, Nf7+ - Kg8, Ne5+ - Kh8, Rb8!

the rest is easy

Here is a selfmate problem I failed to solve. Maybe you guys can do it.

White: Kb7, Qf4, Ne2, Nh6 pawns: a7, b6
Black: Kh3, Bh1 pawns: h4, g2, f5

The problem is: selfmate in 6 moves.

That means you play white and have to force your opponent to give you checkmate (he tries to avoid to do so as well as he can).

It seems pretty straightforward.

1. Qe3+ Kh2
2. Qg1+ Kh3

So far all moves are forced.

3. Ka8 f4
4. b7 f3
5. b8=B

The only way to create a mate, and it covers the h2 square.
And now:

5. ... f2
6. Qf1 gxf1=any #

or

5. ... fxe2
6. Qe1 g1=any #

hehe, I completely missed that line
I simply did not check Qg1+ cause it looked so ugly... I figured I needed 3 moves (Ka8, b7, b8B) and thus two more two stalemate the king and one more to finish

I seem to be losing all my checc knowledge
Still, this problem is flat, I expected better

I am with csarmi on this one. I just don't see it. It is one of those "make your own custom rules" "Chess" puzzle?
