Quote: What rest? Kf3 is enough for solution, the variations are trivial.
But here you go
1. Kf3!
1. - g1N+ 2. Kf2+
1. - g1Q 2. Nf2+
Still haven't solved my puzzle?
nope. the bold part doesnt make sense (not to me atleast) since there is a knight there already

Lord Pc, csarmi just posted possible black's first moves. First with getting the knight, then queen. With knight it's mate in two moves, queen 3.

Anyone know some free chess programs where you can edit positions? Don't have the board at the moment, and a bit hard for me to try to solve them on blind.

Nope both end in the third move.
Try them blind, these positions are not complicated, so it would be a good start for that.
You may even use a piece of paper.

Yeah csarmi, in three.
As for your first puzzle, no idea so far.
But for third:
1. Bc4 Ke5
2. Qd5+ Kf6
3. Qg5++
or
1. Bc4 Kf5
2. Qh5+ Ke4
3. Qd5++
or
1. Bc4 Kf5
2. Qh5+ Kf6
3. Qg5++
Have to double, triple check possible black's moves, but think this is it...

Actually, it isn't very hard to solve even 5 or 8-move chess puzzles without touching a single piece. How do you play your regular games if you can't plan more than 2 moves ahead? You really have to work on that. Most (if not all) grandmasters can play entire games blindfolded.

I'd just like an image of position, before any moves are made.
Board visual is the key I guess. Used excel to help me visualise that first position lol.
Anyway, for second one csarmi.
1. d4 is the key for white. That limits black kings moves to just two places, g4 or h5, so...
1. d4 Kg4
2. e4+ Kh4
3. g3++
or
1. d4 Kh5
2. Qd3 Kh4 (or g4)
3. Qh3++
Usual disclaimer when concerning me an puzzles: I could've missed something.
Still no luck with first one.

The first one is funny. And the other ones are correct, but checkmate is usually signified by a "#", not a "++", the latter one means double check.
Here are some more:
C4: Kc2, Bf8, Nb4; b3, g7 - Ka3, b6 mate in 3
C5: Kb1, Qh3, Rh6 - Ka3, Ra4, Na5; b4, b3, e7 - mate in 3
C6: Kc8, b7, a4 - Kb6, a7, a5 - black to move; white wins

The original puzzle includes the task to find the square of the Black king that makes mate in 3 possible.
Checkmate in 3, by The Jolly Bard. Enjoy!

csarmi, some 10 years ago had one big fat Chess Encyclopedia book, and there mate was shown as ++, might not be correct now, maybe not be then as well, but like it more than that # symbol.

C6 is great. Still no complete solution, but getting the white king to a8, then getting bishop on b8 with pawn might be the key. Getting queen or rook leads to stalemate...
Will get back on this.
EDIT: Actually, no need for king on a8.
EDIT again: C4, nice. Heh, again stalemate threat. With getting some other piece than queen. Will leave it for others, but might've given too many hints.

Ribannah, f5xe6 is the key I think.
Still fooling around with black's legal moves, but think that's it.

Compositions usually have a specific theme (c4,c5 and c6 do), for instance pins, blockades, line openings. Many of these themes have a romantic-sounding name, too.
You may not know the name, but if you find the main lines no doubt you will notice that there is in fact a theme here.

So, for your composition f5xe6 is correct, right?
