I maybe mentioned Storm Elementals..
But Conflux town is so mixed up badly that I don't really want to choose magic elementals. In fact they are kinda my favorites but magic immunity works both way so no haste. If you want to beat someone with conflux I think Magic Elementals are pretty essential for success in longer game. They have still only 80 HP(?) which is much lower than dread knights.

I'll have to go with magics
using them on my side, there are many outstanding lvl 6 creatures: dreads, naga queens, efreet sultans, magic elementals ect. but If i have to fight a pack of lvl 6 creatures, magic elementals I would have to say would be about the toughest. you can't slow em, blind em or bolt em in any way and if you gang up on each group, they are gonna hurt everyone surrounding them if u cant kill the stack. they can take out a decent small army fast, that would have no trouble defeating other groups of lvl 6 creatures with no problem

The best - Dread Knight! Good speed, awesome attack and defense, the second best damage, and an insane special.
Great - Naga Queen (30 damage automatic + no retaliation + 110 hp = ), Efreet Sultan (fast, and you gotta love Fire Shield!), Magic Elemental (quick, no retaliation, hydra-like attack, and dirt cheap)
Worthwhile - War Unicorn (durable, good damage, good special, and inexpensive), Cyclops King (priceless in a siege), Champions (CHARGE!!!!!! )
Bad - Scorpicores (their special comes in handy, but it's unreliable and they don't take or give out punishment well)
The worst - Wyvern Monarchs (special is hardly worth it, not very tough, and damage is average at best)
My $0.02.

I will have to agree with the majority on this one. Dread Knights truly are the most amazing level 6 creature in the game. With their death blow kicking in to do double damamge and their amazing HP and damage as well.
I remember once I was fighting as Necropolis and the only thing that saved me in a big fight was my Dread Knights everything else ended up dead hehe.

Hey, I'm sure that in Shadow of Death the stats of the WYVERN are increased. But you still think that it is the worst... Maybe they should have made it stronger than the Archangel so that you admit that it is great!

wyverns, wyverns, what do they do
Hey wyvern, you keep saying that wyverns kick ass but you dont explain why.
i'm a long time player of might and magic and I still dont understand what is the wyvern special. Once every 20 attacks, it poisoned foes. So what does this poisoning do exactly?
THe few times I used wyverns I got my ass kicked.
Now for your defense, in early stage of the game it's cool to attack of those hive tree in the map, defeats and snake dragons and get the free wyverns

Wyverns suck!
I couldn't agree more with that! Not only are they weak for 6-th level, but they look stupid too.
The strongest 6th levels are (in this order) Naga Queens, Dread Knights and Efreet Sultans. And I see many agree with me.

Dread Knights are great but I vote on War Unicorns, they have the best cost/strenght relation in the game in my opinion.

IMO
The creatures that fight for the first place are Naga Queens , Efreet Sultans and Dread Knights.
I belive Naga Quenns are the best though. No enemy retal and a big amount of damage makes them really , really deadly. Some said that Naga Queens are too slow but remember that usually u don't have to charge with them , u gotta stay protect your Archers.

my oppinion
Wyverns are very good - you can get them in the first week even if you play on impossible level.
next the champions cause they deal +5% more for every step they make. so all you have to do is walk as much as possible to your target. and only then the dread knights and naga queens and the unicorns that can also blind their enemy. not very often but it mught happen .the cyclops suck cause they are too expensive.

I believe...
...Dread Knights are best in their class: Death Blow specialty speaks for itself (don´t forget the cursing thing here). 120 hit points even unupgraded!!! Plus they have a decent speed and 18 AD (which is better than even Champions with 16). Also Naga Queens and Champions are great. As for the Wyvern Monarchs, you better use them early ´cos you might not get another chance, since with 70 HP and horrible AD stats they can hardly stand any other unit in their class (level) as well as in a lower one...

Fortress is a great Town, but Wyverns still suck. I think Dreadknight is best, then Nagaqueen/Champions, not sure which is better.
Wyverns are Position 8 or 9, depends if I count Conflux in.

Hehee, well this all depends on situation. If ur gonna lay siege to a castle, Cyclops are outstanding even in small numbers.
Especially when u split them, one cyclop king counts as a ballista
Efreet Sultans are nasty to kill, fireshield is a snow.
War Unicorns are great especially when u chose a might hero and ur opponent chose magic, and that resistance aura save ur goldies from a nasty implo.
Dread knights seem to be everybodys fav, well they are great with their double damage, but high morale and Naga Queens are even more deadly. On the other hand u know u can move them every round and dont have to worry to much on ur morale
Magic elementals I wont even comment on, see Zuds post, besides I always play 1.4.
Scorpicores are too weak, not even their paralyzing attack can counter that, and Wyverns just plain suck. Cant see anything mitigating about them

I have to go with the Dread Knights. Expensive, but effective. With 3 points of luck, easy to obtain, every second hit is a double damage. If it's not, is like "Good luck shines upon Dread Knights". Either way you win. I think the Dreads should be level 7 not 6. With teleport and animate dead, they're the winning thing for a necromancer. 120 Hp is better than Nagas'.

Champions - I really like them, higher speed than 9 and they would rock.
Dread Knights - I really like them too, Necro are really depending of these since G drags bad HP. I just wanna know why i never get double dmg when i need it damn i hate those luck specials
Sultan Efreets - 13 in speed is awesome, and that fire shield is a big pain when fighting them.
Naga Queens - Excellent creatures to defend those tower shooters, also great when hasted if it makes it the fastest unit on the battlefield.
Cyclopes - good for sieges otherwise i dun like shooters that much. Especially not when its a high lvl unit with melee penalty.
War Unicorns - when playing random they are very useful week 1 because they can attack and take the ret. without losing to much hp. Blind&magic aura is nice too.
Scorpicoes - great speed but too weak. Paralyze is ok.
Wyern Monarchs - same as scorps except change poison for paralyze.
Thats my opinion, dreads have to be my favourites tho

Enchanters are level 6 and they're my first pick! Weak are they, but their mass-spell's totally awesome.
My fav level 6 troops, meaning I will try to get them ASAP and use them in battle: Efreet Sultans and Wyvern Monarchs.
They're fast and key to victory for the 2 towns.
