I think...
1. Dread Knight: Double Damage, Speed, High HP, Curse and Undead
2. Naga Queen: No Retaliation, Good Damage
3. Efreet Sultan: Speed, Fire Immunity, Fire Shield
4. Champion: Jousting Bonus
5. Magic Elemental: No retaliation, attack style, Magic Immunity (but this is not goog because they don't haste or bless etc.
6. Unicorn: Blind Speciality, Cheap
7. Cyclops King: Especially in Siege
8. Scorpicore: I like Dungeon but I don't like them. Useless. Only advantages speed and Paralyze
9. Wyvern Monarch: damage and hp worst

Speed and double damage of Dreads are good, but still naga queens will beat them in fight (1000 dreads against 1000 nagas).
In real game nagas could be even more usefull because of no retaliation.

We had discussed this before. I think the Naga Queens have something like a 80% chance of winning vs the Dread Knight. Other players calculated different chances, but the result was, that Naga Queens are at least not worse than the Dread Knights.
However, I find Naga Queens much more useful than Dreads. Tower has 3 shooters, and the Naga Queen is perfect to protect them. But I have not much use for the Dread Knight. As a Necro, I carry a ton of skellies, and just some more melee units don't help me much. If your (expensive) Dread Knights attack before the skellies, you may lose some of them. If your skellies attack first, nothing is left for the DK I made much better experience combining these skeletons with Liches, to force the opponent to come.
Also, note that Dread Knights don't do "double damage". AFAIK the bonus is calculated the same way as luck bonus damage, and can be much less, depending on your heroes attack strength.
Away from this, Dread Knights are fun. Everyone likes them for their abilities, and they are not too bad

With Haste/Prayer: Naga Queen
With Slow/Distrupting Ray: Magic Elemental
Otherwise, I'd say Dread Knight

Cyclops Kings. Steady shooters that deal damage from afar, can bring a clever opponents walls crumbling around their ears, and even the animation of the quick and deadly fire is disconcerting.

A question not so easy to answer...
I mostly play with Dungeon and Tower and I must say that the manticore\scorpicore is not a good unit. They rarely paralyze the enemies but they are weak and fragile. Naga queens have fix damage even if they got curse or weakness and noone retaliate for them. In great numbers and some haste the naga queens could slay down dozens of nasty level 7 creatures relatively easily.
The dread knight are very good to because their occasional double-damage. The only problem with them I think is that they become available a bit late in the game. Oppose with this the wyverns become available very early in a game and they accumulate in great numbers.
I think I vote for the naga queens. My opinion is that they are the best level 6 creatures in the game.

To clarify: weakness spell decreases "attack" so it usually still reduces the actual damage nagas inflict, even though nagas have fixed BASE damage.

Isn't there a very similar thread?
Anyway, efreeti sultan, in my opinion.
Reasons:
#1 I find them the best end game creature. I find them to be so, because of being the fastest level 6 unit, basicly meaning if you wait with your level 7 and level 6, you're certain you'll go first if both you and your opponent casts blind on first turn.
#2 I find them the best scout unit in the game. They've the fastest non-level 7 speed together with dragon flies, but they're just as easy to get and their fire immunity (+highest non-level 7 speed) means you can win any scout war if you've armaggeddon. Heck you can end the game early by attack and retreat. Of course Phoenix are superior, but you get efreeti sultans so much faster.
#3 In an 100 vs. 100 splitted, waited attack, they're actually the strongest level 6 unit. Since 100 vs. 100 splitted waited is more realistic that 1vs1, or 100 vs. 100, non splitted, or even the very unlikely non-waiting, I find this to be something that actually speaks very positively about the efreeti sultan (and is an example of how much speed really means in this game).
Yes they beat both Naga Queens and Dread Knights this way.
#4 Also, they're as good as most other, if not better, level 6 units in fast clearing of the map by splitting in small numbers and retreat with one efreeti given low health and finish the monsters with the other.
#5 They're immune against blind, and are both a single hex unit and a flyer.
I don't give much for their fire shield ability. Sure it makes them stronger, probably a good bit, but it just doesn't seem, to me, to have much of a tactical advantage, not like fire immunity.
The fire shield is more something neutral stacks uses to irritate the player, because the player might not be able to ressurect the entire army, due to a fire shield in the last hit, but if your opponent gets to a stage where he can go through battles with an army of yours consisting of enough sultans to wipe out several creatures, and yet be irritated that he didn't get to ressurect all troops as expected after the battle, you've probably already almost lost the game by then.
