just an observation
 there is no kookabar or any of those smilies when creating a poll 
intentional or something else
see, i cant do that with the poll i am making. now my  has been downgraded to a mere  when it could potentially be a

heh, cosmetic features are work in progress, it will be added. For now just open a new post window, type the text there using the KookaBar and then copy&paste it into the new poll page.

Is there a way to search a particular forum and not all of them at once, ? if not maybe there should be, that way we wouldnt esspecially need the "all qp and -qp in (forum name)" threads. And if so please excuse my ignorance and point out to me how to search a particluar forum, and if this has already been suggested then ignore me
btw on the green bar thing in the search page it says
"Heroes Community Home Page > Search Form"
where i assume should be search forum
edit: and if this is the wrong thread, once again ignore me

How about a little icon for HC in address bars and bookmarks?
That little white page next to "Heroes Community" is the default icon for FireFox bookmarks; all the others (in that shot) have special custom icons.  I know Val knows how to make such icons because Age of Heroes has one:
1) How difficult would it be to implement such an icon for HC?
2) How much would it cost to sponsor such an icon?
3) Is anyone willing to design one?

what has happened to the layout of the forum, it is different, and personally I dont really like the new change.
The scrolling headline is good, but where the todays posts, log in, and all that are now, it is confusing and not really good to be honest and thats my opinion.
You could change it so that the todays post and all that are back where they were, and move the heroes 1, heroes 2 etc to the top where todays posts are currently.
And you can leave the scrolling headline where it is, and also decrease the speed of the scrolling headline as it is a little fast.

That's a move in the right direction NG
Here's the big template:
Now a good pixel artist needs to make a decent 16x16 out of it, as simple resizing doesn't to it too well. Skillful art is required.
As for the change, it is now targeted more for the 1024x768+ resolution, as very few people use 800x600 these days. The header is now one unit with integrated banner, hopefully granting it better attention, a proper MANLY HC LOGO (I mean all we ever had was that tiny logo and today I had to dig up ancient archives and load ancient software to ENLARGE it, I feel good just looking at it now), then we have the improved ticker (thanks to Sfidanza's script) and the superhandy Game access bar, you have to experience it to believe it
Oh sorry, william didn't like it  I'll change it all back tomorrow

Im serious and im not getting attention.
I use 800x600 resolution still, why dont you think of others.
Maybe make a poll about if this new change in the style template suits everybody, because many people still use 800x600 resolution screens these days, and just because you dont, doesnt mean you can do whatever you like.
I know its your forum, but think of others mate.

Val, question on the new layout
when someone posts a new bit of news on the AOH site, will there be some way to tell from HC???
like the time went red when there was new news on the site

About 6 or 7% of HC visitors use 800x600, and that percentage is becoming smaller.
Thanks NG, I'll wait to see if anyone makes an alternative, and if not we can use that one.
As for the news date in red, I removed that feature. It was good, but keeping it was making things cluttered. You can still tell by reading the headlines.
