Quote: i dont knoe this for sure but this stuff is a guess i think asaasains are the best tier 1's got as much attack as a footmen i think.
But if you look at their growth they are easily the worst unit in the game.
Best level 5 are nightmares for sure.

Which is a perfect explanation as to why there is no reason for you to resurrect the topic when you clearly don't know what you're talking about and don't even bother to do the research to learn about it ...

Hard to argue with an emperor but...
I think the best level 3 in the game are the bears. Paw strike paw strike rune of thunderclap/paw strike. Your level 3 has a chance of effectively paralyzing a much bigger foe for the first several crucial turns of a fight.
Not even the Master Hunter's warding arrow is as effective.
Initiative is god. I understand that. Cerebri are too damn fragile though.

Bears are easily best tier 3 creatures. Ridiculous(usually 70%-90%) paw strike chance and very nice durability makes those creatures a major annoyance for enemy's main powerstack.
For example, haven vs fortess. Bears acting before paladins is going to hurt a lot - paladins are blocked, their turn is lost and a chance for effective jousting is close to 0.

I think that the best creatures are this:
tier 1: Sprites and Master Gremlins
tier 2: Blood furies and Archers
tier 3: Squires and Master Hunters
tier 4: Imperial Griffins and Succubus Mistress
tier 5: ArchiLiches and Inquisitors
tier 6: Paladins and Pit lords
tier 7: Titans and Archangels

id say best tier one in the start is the assasin. like most people i guess. its simply very god in the start of the game
mid and end game? well simply peasents! they give you gold
second tier id say marksmen. initially and end game. piercing shot is very good for killing high defense stacks.
mid game i think the gargoyles are great. helpful in armegeddon strategy on creeps
third tier is the hunter. no contest for the start and most likely mid game .end game the squires are VERY helpful
fourth? hard to say but id go with druid. theyre good for shock attacks because of the awesome lightning bolt . good for wiping out phantom stacks too with stone spikes
fifth id go with djinni. when you just start to get tier five djinnis are strangely powerful if you get the right buffs (risky though) end game i suppose the nightmmares are a favorite.high initiative and speed make them no-retlaiation (with luck)killers which is quite amazing sometimes
sicth is pretty much paladins for anytime at all unless its a poor map for training.(that means lack of gold not resources) then id go with thanes
seven. well i love the titan but its not really the most powerful usually. its damn hard to say but archangel just wins it for me. its an amazingly powerful skill not to mention that the angels are immune to attacks that weaken or make damage higher. its a constant 50-50
-correct tier 5 isnt griffins, scratch that then for djinnis as well
thanks ismalli
and ill stick to peasents being the best actually. imps are great if your opponent uses spells. but if hes might oriented peasents actually work well for anyone (at the very least you could buy a few more units from an extra hero at the tavern)

With all respect to you,but the griffins aren't tire 5 units they're tire 4 units.. tire 5 units are : Priests,Rune priests,Hydras,Unicorns,Nightmares,Lichs and Djins.

waaah?? you are saying that peasents actually are good ?!? They are not helpfull in ANY aspect! Lol ok they give you money... if you get a goldmine its 1000g a day.

Pardon me? Just because they have a fixed base damage that doesn't mean you can't change their dmg oO. Try Suffering and Confusion and you'll see they do less dmg or Righteous Might for more dmg.

Tier 1: Shielguards (hard to kill)
Tier 2: Marksmen (great shooters)
Tier 3: Master Hunters (two shots and warding arrow)
Tier 4: Imperial Griffins (powerfull, high initative, retaliation)
Tier 5: Silver Unicorns (blinding attack, magic resistanse aura)
Tier 6: Paladins (reliable powerfull units with lay hands)
Tier 7: Difficult to say. Perhaps Archangels and Titans (allthough the Archangels have dollfaces).

I actually think that Phoenixes are stronger than Black Dragons. I mean to regular Phoenixes, not summoned. Summoned Phoenix's power depends on the hero's level and Spell power.
Phoenixes have Rebirth and Fire Shield.
On a fight of 10 Black Dragon against 10 Phoenixes, the Phoenixes will always win.
First of all, they have almost duoble initiative (10 to Black Dragon, 19 to Phoenix!), what means that every time the Black Dragon has a turn, the Phoenix has two, and the Phoenix's turns will come first. If the phoenix gets killed, it will just be back to live, 10 new fresh Phoenixes, like the stack began in the start of the battle.
In my opinion, Phoenixes are also the most interesting units in the game, and the most fun to play with.
I just love them. So useful on the battlefield. Play a lot and can reach everywhere on the battlefield (have 10 speed).

IMO, black dragon is not even a good lvl 7 - they are pretty average. 10 initiative means asking to be attacked before moving.
Summoned phoenix is a lvl 8 creature, "regular" phoenixes are tier 7 creatures, cost too much but beat other lvl7(except magmas + runes).

I kinda agree with sdfx, the blackies don't work the way their stats tell they should..
doesn't mean they are bad, either..

Quote: Though I find them paired with gating and their summon pit lords spell quite useful.
I am just learning inferno -- doing the campaign. I read that Arch-Devils can summon pit lords, but I cannot figure out how to do it. The button where summoning might be invoked is not lit for them. I cannot even gate them like all the other inferno creatures.
What am I missing?

Ah -- guess that makes the ability rather useless most of the time. I hardly ever get a dead stack.

Why you have no cerberi on you? That's their job, to charge, die and act as a means of summoning pitlords.

Lol that's not the point What I like about it is that a devil can summon up to 2 pitlords which makes it potent even with a few of them.

There is a limit to the ammount of summoned Pit Lords depending on the number of Devils?? I thought the amount of summoned Pitlords depended on the former Hp of the dead stack...?? And say if 100 Ceberi die and you have 1 Arch Devil he will summon more than just 2 Pit Lords won't he?
