I want to congratulate & thank all of the contestants who submitted something for the second round!
Although I would prefer having all our fates in the hands of the voters, I knew there would come a week where the true performers would be seperated from the "wannabes". Well, it seems that that time has now come. So, seeing as how this talent contest just got a little more serious, I suggest that we blitz HC's members to get some votes coming in. {For example: I will be including a link to the Talent Cotest Thread in my IMs to various people.}
As I did last week, I would now like to share a few general comments & ask some questions about the submissions from Round 2:
Antipaladin - Another great pic! Although this one wasn't as funny as your first, it still had that certain "je-ne-sais-quoi" that made me laugh & grin at the same time.
T-A - What can I say but: "Those custom units are really freaking good!" I like how you switched different parts of them around in strangely unique ways and didn't just switch all of their heads or bodies.
Iris - The first time that I heard your Modified Version, I thought: "Not bad...not great." But after having listened to it a 2nd & 3rd time, I am now thinking: "Amazing!"
The sudden change of heart has to due with the fact that I realised how you maintained the tempo of the main "theme" throughout the whole piece. I can just imagine the major cramp you must have had in your hand from repeating it over & over for the 2+ minutes.
kookastar - While your second entry was similar to your first, there are 2 differences that stand out and show a different side of your talent.
#1- You didn't rely on humour as much in this entry.
&
#2- Your focus on developing the story has started to intrigue me as to what comes next.
William - Not bad at all, bud! Although this tune had more basic & repetitive beats, it shows that your talent has room to grow and diversify.
Woock - I always enjoy seeing your Pixelart characters! They are not only funny and silly, but they are all so different from each other that I find myself having to look at each & every one to absorb it all.
Celfious - The more I try to follow your logic, the more I get lost in it! I guess the saying is true: "Sometimes finding answers just brings more questions."
Milena - That's a very nice Nature-pic...everything looks "undisturbed". I'd like to know how big those bugs were and what kind of insect they are? Also, what type of plant are they on?
FoG - Although seeing that SPAM kind of made me nauseous naustalgic, I really like the carving! I'm not only impressed by the skill level required to do that, but mostly by the creative mind that thought of using SPAM to do it.
I'm sort of surprised that you didn't do anything to the face, though. Any reason why that is? Once again, the deadline has passed, so that's it for this week....
HC members are now free to vote for their favourite "performer" AS MANY TIMES AS THEY WISH.
Just send me IMs or emails and I'll have the results posted in the Contest Thread in about 48 hours.

Neither Ruby, Kitten nor me posted anything this week... Due to my lack of interest, competitiveness (looking at the last weeks results) and time, I am forced to retire

Leo Im so sorry for not posting an entry this week, but I have had a really rough week. Sunday one of my girl friends passed away at the age of 44 of a massive heart attack and Tuesday another dear friend of mine (age 27) passed away after going into a coma due to sleep apneiah and being without oxygen for too long. Again I am truely sorry, i have just been a little preoccupied.

I have to say it but thats pretty lame TNT.
So what, you expect everyone to vote for you or else you quit?
Thats lame, just try harder & make it better.
So what, people get turned down all the time but they never give up. It just makes them stronger & want to try harder.
Who cares if not many people voted for you, just make it better then.

It's important for people to continue voting, even if someone doesn't submit an entry and will obviously be eliminated, for many reasons:
#1- It keeps people interested & involved in the game. (i.e. If they didn't get to vote one week (for the reasons stated above), then they might not care to come back the next week. )
#2- I am tracking all the votes, throughout all of the rounds, for "something special".
#3- If the person who didn't submit something that week had a "very good reason" for doing so, then maybe the votes up-to-that-point would be used to decide who (if anyone) gets eliminated. FoG said:
"I think everybody is keeping their best stuff for last. "
I know that I am!
{That reminds me, weren't you supposed to "do whatever I did, but better", FoG? I don't hear you signing yet! } ChEsHiReKaT, there is no need for you to apologize. I actually want to thank you for letting me (& everyone else) know why you were not able to Post something last week. I just hope that you are doing better now and will be able to continue showcasing your talent(s) in Round 3; as I have given you a "free-pass with -1 vote" based on your reasons.
If you are up to it, then great! If not, then please let me know as soon as possible. As always, I'm open for questions or feedback, so feel free to let me know what's on your minds. Good luck in the 3rd round everyone...next week will be the TOP 10!

Am I the only one that's noticed that the best only way to eat spam is on wheat bread with generous mayo? It's like some kind of magical combination, like peanut butter and jelly. Any other way of eating it is just an experiment gone awry.

It's difficult to carve details into spam. There's like gristle and bits of random animal protein in there that makes it tough.

im kind of sad. the stuff I came out with this week is in my opinion the best I can do. Its not the type of logic you can websearch or find on the net.
It might be difficult to decifer, maybe, (probably) but it means so much :[
It is what proves to me that I am a lot more free from the boundaries of human reasoning.
im so sad now.. that its so confusing and .. simple once decifered. And also that I dont think anyone will take the time to understand it. I know it will be hard to do that. I can make it simpler though and I will. I will ~!!! lol
To be honest I feel it is the best thing I have ever written, and it flowed like magic (3 drafts, but all within an hour or 2)

Celfious,
I felt a sense of understanding when reading your entry that, I believe, connected me to what you were thinking/experiencing when writing it. Let me explain:
Your support of logic sounds more like a statement of having faith that the truth can be found in the unknown. You seem to be saying that our reality is all an invention, therefore, any truth within it is false. This is almost a metaphysical approach to life, as it points to the truth as being something that cannot be proven by science or thought (as science is the mind's way of trying to understand things reported by our limited senses). Correct me if I am wrong, but it seems to me that you were somewhat saying that our true reality is something that must experienced spiritualy, instead of being explained mentaly or physically.
As you seemed to have a breakthrough when writing your Post and also had some sad feelings about others' interpretation of your idea, I wanted to share something about that with you. Breakthroughs of the mind, body, or soul are often said to be spontaneous. You cannot force someone to understand something they do not, to lift something they cannot, or to feel something they do not...they have to come to these things in their own way.
For example: -Einstein said that his theory of relativity came to him like a vision. He did not "figure it out", it was inspiration. -A mother cannot usually lift a car, but the strength might "come to her" if it will save her child. -Feelings are not premeditated, they come without warning. Feelings can be controlled, but you cannot plan "love at first sight".
So, as the ideas and words flowed through you, when you were writing your Post, you have to keep in mind that some people will understand right away and some won't. Don't worry about getting your ideas across with words; if it is meant to be, then they will understand. If not, just keep trying to reach those readers week after week. Eventually more will become aware of the truth that you speak of.
P.S. I would love to read an essay on this subject written by you!

Iris,
How many years did you play the piano for? I ask because you play as though you picked it up in the womb!
Seriously, that minuette sounded soooo difficult and it reminded me of a piece called "La facile"...that is anything but.

Thank you.
I played for a total of about 5 years, but I only took lessons for a little over 3.5 years from 3 different teachers. My first one moved away a year into lessons, so I teacherless for about half a year. Then I found a new one, but a year later, I moved away. I was teacherless for another half a year. Then I found my last teacher and I took lessons from her until the end of HS.
I started late though, around 8th grade, so I was old enough pick up on stuff more quickly. That, plus music is sort of in my blood. My grandpa (mom's side) is a composer, and my grandma (also mom's side) is an opera singer.
