No problem - and thanx!
Anyway, though I don't favor the idea of tripple upgrades on all units; just to go with the flow, I would suggest the following corrections:
Academy:
Iron Golem -> Steel Golem -> Diamond Golem Gold Golem (Let's keep it metal)
Mage -> Archmage -> Archsage Sage (you cannot have an Archsage without introducing the Sage first)
Djinn -> Djinn Sultan -> Marid Djinn Emir (Or alternately: Efreet! - but more intuitive that Marid)
Rakshasi Rani -> Rakshasa Raja -> Asura Rakshasa something
Collosus -> Titan -> Celestial Gargantuan (Or something else - the Celestial have a Divine (i.e. Angelic) connection which has nothing to do with the Academy (that would in fact be haven)).
Dungeon:
All good!
Fortress:
Brawler -> Berserker -> Shaman Something (The Shaman has a distinct spiritualistic connection, which is mal-placed for this unit!)
Haven:
Archer -> Marksman -> Longbowman Crosbowman (It seems to me they abandoned the bow in favor of the Crosbow on first upgrade?)
Footman -> Squire -> Knight Crusader (Cannot use Hero name here)
Griffin -> Imperial Griffin -> Wild Griffin Holy Griffin (The other one doesn't sound more powerfull than the Imperial one, does it?)
Priest -> Inquisitor -> Warrior Monk Grand Inquisitor (The Gran Inquisitor was the head of the Inquisition - and War Monk sounds very primitive!)
Cavalier -> Paladin -> Champion Praetorian (?) (The Champion is the renegade version of the Paladin, so that term cannot be used! The Praetorians were actually the elite roman imperial guards (I think) where the term Paladin was first used - so even though Praetorian might seem strange, I'm running low on better words. One could also use the more traditional "Holy Paladin")
Inferno:
Horned Demon -> Horned Overseer -> Legion Overseer Horned something (I don't like the fact that they skipped Demon > Horned Demon for Horned Demon > Horned Overseer, but one should keep with the flow and keep the 'Horned')
Succubus -> Succubus Mistress -> Succubus Favourite or Succubus Queen
Hell Charger -> Nightmare -> Limbo Steed Blazing Nightmare (or Steed) (Limbo Steed - wtf? Running low on good suggestions, but Blazing something goes well with the stables)
Pit Fiend -> Pit Lord -> Doom Lord Balor (Just my prefference - but I love the LOTR Balor)
Devil -> Arch Devil -> Infernal Diablo or Lucifer or Mephistole or Belzebub (Infernal is an adjective, not a name. Then it would have to be Infernal Lord)
Necropolis:
Skeleton -> Skeleton Archer -> Skeleton Marksman Skeleton Sniper (Sorry - but Marksman is too Haven!)
Lich -> Archlich -> Mummy Powerlich (Mummy - wtf? The Mummy has nothing to do with the Lich (and is already in the game). Powerlich worked in H3 and sounds ... well, powerfull!)
Bone Dragon -> Spectral Dragon -> Death Wyrm Ghost Dragon (Sounds better and brings back an old creature)
Sylvan:
Blade Dancer -> War Dancer -> Death Dancer
Unicorn -> Silver Unicorn -> Pegasus (Interesting suggestion!
Treant -> Ancient Treant -> Dryad Ente (A dryad is a tree spirit, as far as I know)
Green Dragon -> Emerald Dragon -> Gold Dragon Saphire Dragon (Let's stick to the Gemstones. Actualyl I would have prefered Emerald Dragon > Saphire Dragon > Ruby Dragon)

Quote: Anyway, though I don't favor the idea of tripple upgrades on all units; just to go with the flow, I would suggest the following corrections:
i prefer third upgrades on only some units as well, but we are going with the flow here indeed... and now for your corrections
Academy:
Iron Golem -> Steel Golem -> Diamond Golem Gold Golem (Let's keep it metal) agreed
Mage -> Archmage -> Archsage Sage (you cannot have an Archsage without introducing the Sage first) true, but Sage sounds somewhat weak
Djinn -> Djinn Sultan -> Marid Djinn Emir (Or alternately: Efreet! - but more intuitive that Marid) Efreet sounds best, and i doubt we will see them anywhere
Rakshasi Rani -> Rakshasa Raja -> Asura Rakshasa something i stick by my choice... why does it have to be Rakshasa something? they got the first one wrong anyway, female version is Rakshasi, not Rakshasa
Collosus -> Titan -> Celestial Gargantuan (Or something else - the Celestial have a Divine (i.e. Angelic) connection which has nothing to do with the Academy (that would in fact be haven)).i stick by my choice, Celestial to me speaks of power, and not of the Divine kind
Fortress:
Brawler -> Berserker -> Shaman Something (The Shaman has a distinct spiritualistic connection, which is mal-placed for this unit!) research, my friend... berserkers had a distinct spiritualistic connection, shaman here is fitting
Haven:
Archer -> Marksman -> Longbowman Crosbowman (It seems to me they abandoned the bow in favor of the Crosbow on first upgrade?) they did and the Maskman IS a Crossbowman... the longbow however, has far greater range
Footman -> Squire -> Knight Crusader (Cannot use Hero name here) i knew i had forgotten something... i stand corrected
Griffin -> Imperial Griffin -> Wild Griffin Holy Griffin (The other one doesn't sound more powerfull than the Imperial one, does it?) perhaps, but i figure that getting rid of the armour and keeping the training will make the griffin even deadlier
Priest -> Inquisitor -> Warrior Monk Grand Inquisitor (The Gran Inquisitor was the head of the Inquisition - and War Monk sounds very primitive!) Warrior Monks primitive? ...dude, you are talking about some of the greatest Knight Orders here... Templar Knights for example
One could also use the more traditional "Holy Paladin") Champion is the first among paladins, not a rogue one... not to mention Haven is not Rome
Inferno:
Horned Demon -> Horned Overseer -> Legion Overseer Horned something (I don't like the fact that they skipped Demon > Horned Demon for Horned Demon > Horned Overseer, but one should keep with the flow and keep the 'Horned') yes, they should keep Demon as first... i went with the "we are Legion" thing
Hell Charger -> Nightmare -> Limbo Steed Blazing Nightmare (or Steed) (Limbo Steed - wtf? Running low on good suggestions, but Blazing something goes well with the stables) as in Brooks' Blazing Saddles? ...lets stick with Limbo, its the first circle of Hell in the Divine Comedy... but perhaps you'd prefer it by another name... Oblivion
Pit Fiend -> Pit Lord -> Doom Lord Balor (Just my prefference - but I love the LOTR Balor) not even sure if they can use LotR trademarks
Devil -> Arch Devil -> Infernal Diablo or Lucifer or Mephistole or Belzebub (Infernal is an adjective, not a name. Then it would have to be Infernal Lord) all the names you used are exclusive to the christian devil (okay, almost all) ...Infernal is an adjective, but i feel its powerful enough
Necropolis:
Skeleton -> Skeleton Archer -> Skeleton Marksman Skeleton Sniper (Sorry - but Marksman is too Haven!) but Archer isn't? still, i agree with Sniper, good call
Lich -> Archlich -> Mummy Powerlich (Mummy - wtf? The Mummy has nothing to do with the Lich (and is already in the game). Powerlich worked in H3 and sounds ... well, powerfull!) note to self: never post without coffee
Bone Dragon -> Spectral Dragon -> Death Wyrm Ghost Dragon (Sounds better and brings back an old creature) a matter of taste i guess, but Death Wyrm (or Death Dragon) sounds more powerful... besides, Ghosts are weaker than Spectres
Sylvan:
Treant -> Ancient Treant -> Dryad Ente (A dryad is a tree spirit, as far as I know) exactly why its suitable here, Ent(e) on the other hand, may be trademark of the Tolkien people
Green Dragon -> Emerald Dragon -> Gold Dragon Saphire Dragon (Let's stick to the Gemstones. Actualyl I would have prefered Emerald Dragon > Saphire Dragon > Ruby Dragon) Green is not a gemstone, its a colour, while i would prefer Emerald as the final level, i have to go with Gold, Saphire or Ruby would change the colour dramatically

Academy
Mage -> Archmage -> Archsage Sage (you cannot have an Archsage without introducing the Sage first) true, but Sage sounds somewhat weak Agreed. My prefered scheem would be Apprentice > Mage > Archmage.
Rakshasi Rani -> Rakshasa Raja -> Asura Rakshasa something i stick by my choice... why does it have to be Rakshasa something? they got the first one wrong anyway, female version is Rakshasi, not Rakshasa You obviously know more about Rakshasa than I do - so I'll defer to your knowledge.
Fortress:
Brawler -> Berserker -> Shaman Something (The Shaman has a distinct spiritualistic connection, which is mal-placed for this unit!) research, my friend... berserkers had a distinct spiritualistic connection, shaman here is fitting Eh ... Now I am a Dane, and I have a fair knowledge about Viking history, and as far as I know (Viking) Berzerkers didn't have that much to do with spirituality. Furthermore, Shamanism has its roots in native American culture rather than Viking society - a priest of the Norse mythology was called a "Gode" (don't know the English word), but the Berzerkers were intoxicated warriors rather than priests.
Haven:
Priest -> Inquisitor -> Warrior Monk Grand Inquisitor (The Gran Inquisitor was the head of the Inquisition - and War Monk sounds very primitive!) Warrior Monks primitive? ...dude, you are talking about some of the greatest Knight Orders here... Templar Knights for example
Cavalier -> Paladin -> Champion Praetorian (?) (The Champion is the renegade version of the Paladin, so that term cannot be used! (...) Champion is the first among paladins, not a rogue one... (...)
Well, Nival did choose Champion as the name for the Renegade version of the Paladin - but I like the word Templar. In perfect world I would vouch for Cavalier > Paladin > Templar (or swap the latter) and Monk > Priest > Zealot and then rename renegade Zealot > Inquisitor (because Inquisitor sounds so mean and therefore is well suited for Renegades).
Inferno:
Pit Fiend -> Pit Lord -> Doom Lord Balor (Just my prefference - but I love the LOTR Balor) not even sure if they can use LotR trademarks That's probably true. But one should stick to Pit something for consistency - for instance Pit Fiend > Pit Master (or Overseer) > Pit Lord.
Devil -> Arch Devil -> Infernal Diablo or Lucifer or Mephistole or Belzebub (Infernal is an adjective, not a name. Then it would have to be Infernal Lord) all the names you used are exclusive to the christian devil (okay, almost all) ...Infernal is an adjective, but i feel its powerful enough True on the first part (albeit: Isn't Angel and Archangel very related to christianity?) ... but then I'd vouch for Infernal Lord.
Necropolis:
Lich -> Archlich -> Mummy Powerlich (Mummy - wtf? The Mummy has nothing to do with the Lich (and is already in the game). Powerlich worked in H3 and sounds ... well, powerfull!) note to self: never post without coffee He he.
Bone Dragon -> Spectral Dragon -> Death Wyrm Ghost Dragon (Sounds better and brings back an old creature) a matter of taste i guess, but Death Wyrm (or Death Dragon) sounds more powerful... besides, Ghosts are weaker than Spectres Death Dragon is good.
Sylvan:
Treant -> Ancient Treant -> Dryad Ente (A dryad is a tree spirit, as far as I know) exactly why its suitable here, Ent(e) on the other hand, may be trademark of the Tolkien people Probably true.
Green Dragon -> Emerald Dragon -> Gold Dragon Saphire Dragon (Let's stick to the Gemstones. Actualyl I would have prefered Emerald Dragon > Saphire Dragon > Ruby Dragon) Green is not a gemstone, its a colour, while i would prefer Emerald as the final level, i have to go with Gold, Saphire or Ruby would change the colour dramatically No, green is not a Gemstone, that why it should have been Emerald for basic. And now of course it's just because I'm a geologist - but if you're concerned with the colours then let's aim for Emerald Dragon (green gemstone) > Aquamarine Dragon (blue-green gemstone) > Saphire Dragon (blue gemstone). Or alternately (actually my favored approach): Bronze Dragon > Silver Dragon > Gold Dragon.

i love this... hehehe
Fortress:
on Berserkers: its true, that Berserkers were either intoxicated or just plain nuts... of course thats just the mundane way of seeing things... as for Shamanism, it was found all over the globe, along with animism... pretty much all religions started from there
Haven:
on Priest and Paladins: i totally forgot about the renegades... yeah, Templar is far better than Champion... and we can always keep Zealot or perhaps... Prophet?
Inferno:
on Pit Fiend and Devil: consistency here can be a hinderance... Infernal Lord on the other hand, sounds cool for the Devil... and no, angel is greek for messenger (and i happen to be greek) its not exclusive to christianity
Sylvan:
on Green Dragons: if we can change the present names, sure, lets go for Emerald -> Aquamarine (is there another name for it?) -> Saphire (the other way round though, Sylvan is green) ...but if we have to keep Green -> Emerald... then what?

He he ... now, let me give you a brief introduction to crystallogy and precious stones.
A Crystal Dragon is a bad name, because Crystal Dragons is a group of dragons covering both Emerald Dragons, Saphire Dragons, etc.
As for the precious stones, the most commonly acknowledged precious stones are:
Quartz, Rosa Quartz, Amethyst (common/semi-precious) (Transperant/Rosa/Purple)
Topaz (Light Yellow)
Aquamarine (Bluish Green)
Emerald (Green)
Saphire (Blue)
Ruby (Red)
Diamond (White or coloured - most precious)
Since Aquamarine is cumbersome and hard to pronounce, I'd advice one of the following approaches:
Crystaline Dragons: Topaz Dragon (Light Yellow) -> Emerald Dragon (Bright Green) -> Saphire Dragon (Deep Blue)
Metallic Dragons: Bronze Dragon -> Silver Dragon -> Gold Dragon
I will try to prepare some graphics to upload later for the colours of the crystalline dragons.
PS. Changing the names is easy. Changing the skins a bit less so - but I will actually try to talk someone into making a skin for the Saphire Dragon as a MOD (should be easy to change colours on Emerald), and then make a MOD to change Sylvan line-up into Emerald Dragon -> Saphire Dragon. Would look really sweet I think.

So actually Yasmiel is completely correct: What we talk about is 2nd upgrade.

It's just an image - so I just changed the colour balance and brightness. I can't make creature textures (yet), because I haven't got an imaging program that's compatible with the file format Nival uses (.tag files?). In principle, if someone could change the textures to a normal image format (is that possible?) it could be fun to play around with them.
