Quote: So I'm currently starting to work on a fictional faction for the Ashan universe.
I'm wondering how are the demons bound to Sheogh.
I mean, when a lunar eclipse occur they are somehow free the scour the land, right?
But happens the moment the lunar eclipse end? What happens to the demons? are they magically transfered back or do they just feel it in the blood or something that they have to return?
With this in mind I also wondering in what way can the demons manifest themselves in Ashan when there are no lunar eclipse?
Thank you kind people for your answers in advanced.
After the War of the twin primordial dragons, Asha coccooned herself and formed the moon. Urgash and his demons were eventually locked away in Sheogh (thanks to Sar-Elam, the 7th Dragon).
When Ashan blocks the sun from touching it's moon, a moon eclipse occurs, and since Asha represents the moon, Asha becomes weak and hordes of demons can spawn upon Ashan freely. When the eclipse is over, it doesn't mean that the demons need to retreat, they can carry on scouring the surface, but for how long I'm not sure, as long as there's some demon base on the surface to keep them linked to the infernal loom.
If there is no eclipse, then new demons cannot manifest on the surface themselves, they need to be summoned by a very powerful sorcerer.

When replaying the original Campaigns I encountered an odd bug. Markal's special didn't work. Neutral stacks of undead did not join, and even would attack him.

That is odd. Even with the bugs of the 3.1 patch whenever I play him on a single-player map, his special still works.

Hall of Fame Formula
Greetings, Heroes!
I've been out of this forum for years, maybe since the times of HOMMIV, but I'm now replaying the HOMMV-HoF-TotE campaigns in order (and enjoying them a lot) and I was wondering if anyone here knows which formula is used to assign the score in the Hall of Fame, once finished a map.
I remember the HOMMIII formula included as factors the difficulty of the map, the difficulty level you played at, the total time needed to finish it, the number of towns, the Grail structure, etc., but I don't know if HOMMV uses a similar system.
P.S. Sorry if this isn't the right thread to place this question. As I said, I'm back from a long time far from this forum

obviously it doesn't include the grail, since there isn't a single map with the grail in the game
(joking, I have no idea)

Not sure in total, but I know that the following have a big impact on the Hall of Fame formula:
- Number of days, months it took to complete the map
- How much of the map belongs to your hero (colour)

My questions:
1. What are the connection between Asha and The Primordial Dragons?
2. Are the demons never die? Did they just return to Sheogh after being killen in Ashan?
3. Why Dark Elves separated from their brothers, The Sylvans?
4. Do all the necromancers ever died once?
Thanks, I'm really curious.

1) Asa IS the one of the two primordial dragons, the other being Urgash.
2) That should be expanded in H6
3) Well.. That was a choice of either fleeing or being subject to genocide. The elves were pissed about the burning of the sacred tree of life and believed this was done by the dark elves.
4) Not really, remember Markal? He was pretty much alive. But normally they prefer to abandon life and turn into liches.

hmmm, thanks Elvin, that gives me clearer story about Ashan world. Then my next questions:
1. So, Elrath, Arkath, Malassa, and other dragons arent classified as primordial dragons. Then, what are they and what is the connection between them and the primordial dragons?
2. Who is Sar Elam the Wizard? Why he is called the Seventh Dragon?
Thanks again for the answers

1. Those were created by the primordial ones, they were creatively called the elemental dragons Shalassa, Elrath, Malassa, Arkath, Sylanna and Ylath were Asha's children whereas Urgash created the demons. Chaos breeds chaos
2. Sar Elam was a wizard that somehow tapped into Asha's consciousness while she was sleeping inside the moon, resting and healing her wounds from the battle with Urgash in the ancient times. That gave him immense powers and he received the title seventh dragon despite not being an actual dragon. He sacrificed himself to seal the demons in the core of Ashan. The seventh dragon's skull in dark messiah is not his actual skull, I forget exactly what gives but it was clarified in a Q&A with Jess Spock.

hmmm, questions again:
1. I can only remember some campaign heroes if my memory serves me well. Zehir, Isabel, Freyda, Duncan, Wulfstan, Gotai are shown in TOE's ending. Markal, Godric and Arantir(?) are dead. Findan is leading his sylvan people in Irollan. Where are Raelag and Ylaya?
2. I downloaded original HOMM V and HoF campaign maps from HOMM V and HoF. Is there any way to bring my campaign heroes in a chapter to the next chapter?
Ex: I am playing Haven Campaign Chapter 4 - The Trap with Godric. I completed the map with level 20 Godric, some skill sets, spells, and artifacts. In Haven Campaign Chapter 5 - The Fall of the King or Academy Campaign Chapter 5 - Zehir's Hope, can I play my Godric from The Trap?
Thanks.

Map help
Ok, so here's the deal - me and my friends like to play cooperatively versus computers, but we can't play standard multiplayer because when we change the randomly generated map so it has teams we can't start it unless we're playing single player or hotseat.
The other issue is that in the later game, the computers have too many heroes and their turns take far too long.
So here are my questions:
- is there a way to "cheat" the map editor into letting us play a RGM (randomly generated map), which we have edited to have teams;
- is there a way to set a limit to how many heroes a player can have?
All help will be deeply appreciated. Thanks in advance!

- There is no way to to have teams with the RMG. You just have to "behave" like you are on the same team but different colours.
- The is a way to limit the time it takes for the AI (computer) to finish it's turn, a patch was made, check out the link:

1. Have you finished hammers of fate and tribes of the east? You see Ylaya in tote, she says Raelag is still missing in his search for demon cultists. That part was never resolved in H5 nor in dark messiah.
2. Not that I know of, maybe with some mod or by cheating.

2. By cheating? Can I edit some skill point stats other than leveling? How?
Thanks

1.
It was then that Raelag made his fatal mistake: when Shadya, who had been missing for some time, returned to support him in the assault on Talonguard, he did not recognize that it was actually Biara in disguise. During the ritual, the succubus assumed her true form and fled to Sheogh with the unconscious Isabel. Using the Heart of the Griffin, the four heroes followed her, and although it was now too late to prevent the coming of the Demon Messiah, Kha-Beleth's citadel fell before the combined might of the Empire, the Silver Cities, Irollan, and Ygg-Chal. Raelag, revealing himself as Agrael to the Demon Sovereign, finally had his revenge complete.
What else to know here?

1. For example, he seems to love Isabel and the threat from the Demon Messiah, which is the son from the woman he loves and the demon sovereign he hates, isn't over. Even Biara is still alive at that time. For me, there's much Raelag can do and he has enough reasons to do so
2. Normally, I dont like cheating either. But this is a special circumstance, you cant expect to win in final scenario with Level 1 Heroes.
My next question:
3. What is the difference between HOMM V Collector Edition and Gold Edition?
Thanks for the answers.
